Slow Air, played on a Dixon low D, edited with Apple Logic pro and Apple Final Cut Studio on a Mac.
Camera: Canon Rebel T2i DSLR with EF 50 mm 1,4.
Microfon: Neuman KM 184
the song "Slow Air" is from Ally Mackenzie and Colin Melville published on their CD "Fits O' Giggles" (look in iTunes)

You can also made your own whistles in pvc or alluminium. It's easy and your sound is very very good. There are a interney page The low teach whistles . I recomended this page for a very easy construction of all sizes whistles economics.

I wouldn't dare try. The holes would end up everywhere but on the top, and I can't imagine a hand as crooked as it would be required to play an instrument I built...

I Love this, I find myself humming it through the day. I'm going to try the Low whistle and have the Dixon Low D in mind. I have Dixon Soprano D, but find the High D's a little Harsh/Shrill for my liking. Thank you for Uploading, please upload more Airs played with the Dixon Low D. Beautiful.....

I used Apples "Logic Pro 9" digital audio workstation software. The sound of the whistle in the video is based primarily on Logic's "Space Designer" impulse reverb and also on the Neumann microphone.

Why have you quit posting? This tune is the most amazing! I am a 1 month beginner, but have worked very hard on this tune. I only have high D's, but am making a low D tomorrow. I am working on this tune to post my progress, I hope that is okay with you. Thank you for this lovely tune.

The high octave A and B notes sound not too bad on this whistle. Not too harsh.

@BushyHeath Just noticed a couple of errors in the transcription. I've changed them and made a clean copy. Download link is still the same just replace the (space)DOT(space) with a full stop.

I'm trying to readjust my fingering and not grip the whistle with my right hand pinky what I can't figure out is, how on earth do you keep the thing stable through a C# like in this vid I can only imagine this guy has glued his thumbs to the back

You can rest your pinky on the whistle if it feels natural. It's pretty common in flute playing. I think they tend to lift it when doing E rolls. I tend to anchor over the last hole (OOO OOX) once I get closer to the C#.
