Looked like a white shad. That class of striper is exactly why I quit drifting minnows, and half will be gut hooked. Alright tiz time for ya to hit the water I think there's some fish to be had at ur spot up there.
I was going this morning Jeff but got back from the race track at about 3 am and I was super tired at 6:30 checked the temp. Was in the 30’s went back to bed🤣 went at about 10 and was disappointed for stripers. Nothing on swim Shad’s or rage swimmers I even put a under spin jig head on and couldn’t entice them. I didn’t even try top water for more than 5 minutes because I could only get 3 cane walkers switched to single hooks. I don’t have snap ring pliers and I lost a bunch of snap rings because they flew away from trying to get the rings on the bait so I lost some snap rings and I wasn’t able to get the bait balanced with your split shot trick. it looked good in the tub but they didn’t move right without the split shot on them. Waiting on more split rings to come in the mail smh. Anyway great video as always. I appreciate all you do to bring us these videos Also I forgot I just bought some berkly x9 braid. It’s the smoothest casting line I’ve ever tried. I highly recommend it. It’s crystal color and it’s almost invisible in the water. I used it on some bass in Gaston and it done great with no liter on. I have never casted as far as I did today using that x9 braid so I think it was the line I was using that made the difference in casting smoothness and how far I could cast.
I got up early this morning seen the flow rate and went back to bed they messed that up.....had buddies from Wilmington fished all weekend and got 10 total for Friday sat and this morning and all little fish. That first group of big fish pushed up river from what im hearing from other guide friends....and more rain coming middle of the week!
