10/10. Hands down one of the best talks at Slush this year in my opinion. So much information crammed into such a short talk. Amazing.

Steve is a great guy and I always love his talks. A lot of this I've seen in previous talks of his but it still got a wealth of new updates.

We need to educate people on how to adapt to this quickly approaching future. As you said, there will be nothing but massive, continuous disruption for which there is little, if anything, from the past to use as guidance. Additionally for most people this will appear painfully sudden. My concern is that the 1%, or more realistically the .01%, who are conservative, will opt for oligarchic dictatorship due to the fear of Eisenhower Style Taxation that may be necessary for the level of social safety net needed to prevent "French Revolution Deux". Personally I believe we are witnessing the foundation of this now. Some, such as Thiel, have argued that democracy is not compatible with capitalism. Ergo, democracy must go. On the other end is AOC/Andrew Yang. Those seem to be representative of the two ends of the spectrum of possible near futures. As with any such dynamic tension there is latent opportunity waiting in the middle. Also, If "Basic Income" becomes the norm it might be helpful if we all learn to think of it as venture capital invested. The tools and opportunities of capitalism need to be made painlessly available. Take the humble LLC. One should be able to pick and choose the legal foundation from which to proceed from. Globally, there are many. However, states like California, will not let managing members live and breathe air in California without paying the annual $800.00 dues to join the club. For those displaced by massive structural unemployment, which is coming, that makes bootstrapping much more challenging, thus it should be eliminated. It would be a shame if people would need to physically pick up and move to another state just to manage such things. Another matter is online incorporating. Some states are much better at this than others. Those that aren't need to catch up. A few random thoughts about the future: The Benefit Corporation needs to replace the C Corp. All friction needs to be eliminated especially for those starting out to move forward. "Y Combinator" style opportunities should be the rule, not the exception. The paywalls must come down. The patent office needs their own Ai. Cyber security needs to be a right, proactively enforced. Gaming the system (cheating) is not productive and should be severely discouraged. Organized crime should be proactively eliminated. . Education should be of the highest quality and available to all. Physics should be taught from 1st through 12th grades. We should treat teachers like Finland does. We must realize, as Germany has, that not everyone can be, nor desires to be, their own CEO and act accordingly
