Sly 2 is one of the greatest stealth platformers ever created. The Sly series in general, while more niche than Jak or R&C, in my opinion it was always better written and the story ranks above them all. Great story, great gameplay, amazing characters. Sly is just awesome.
sly 1 port on PS5 is one of the highest rated games on the PS store already, and it hit top 20 most played games last month. imagine how well sly 2 port will perform…

I didnt even own a PS2 when the commercial was on TV, but i wanted the game for my birthday, my parents had noticed that i no longer wanted PS1 games for my birthday, yet they saw me play the PS1 all the time so they asked me about it, and i told them that there wasnt being produced any more new PS1 games as its an old console (roughly 3 or 4 years since the last PS1 game was made by then). Then they asked me how come i wanted a PS2 game when i didnt have one, and i told them. ''I want to be able to play the game as soon as i have saved up enough money for a PS2!'' luckily for me, the company he works for had gotten a bunch of PS2 consoles at a discount price due to a merger deal having been completed which meant that Sony had send his company a bunch of PS2 consoles for less than half the production price, and so my dad bought got one of those consoles and gave it to me. Thus this game and Dragon ball Z Budokai 1 became the first games i played on the PS2, third game was Star Wars Battlefront 2.

Replaying the sly franchise really set in mind how much of a grind so many games today have. The sense of accomplishment you get out of completing missions and grabbing collectibles in this series and a couple of other classics is something I haven’t felt in a long time.
The remastered trilogy of Sly Cooper is available on the PS4/PS5 in the classic catalogue if you have PS plus. Ratchet and Clank 1, and 3 (and i think 2) is also there.

I’m 31. I absolutely love this game….this whole series has so much love from me. I remember working with my step dad doing a roofing job on one of his apartment houses when I was 11/12 years old. The ONLY thing I wanted was this game….he told me “alright work with me Saturday on that house and then after we’re done I’ll take you to Walmart and get you that game you want” I think the game has only been out for maybe a week at that time. I’ve replayed this series possibly more than any other game series ever that I’ve owned. But this game specifically is so special to me I loved it when I was 11/12 and now at 31 I still love it just as much.

I would give a kidney for another Sly game. It's all I want. I know we're never getting it, but I still will not let go of the hope that we will one day get a conclusion to Sly's story
I played through Sly 2 for the first time a few months ago and man it was such a treat. Makes me want to go back and experience the PS2 era since I never had a PS2 growing up.
Play all the ps2 games you can get your hand on. I maybe an old head but those games were just different. They obviously wanted to make money but they were made with love. Just doesn’t have the same feel nowadays.
I want you to go back onto Sly 2, when you’re on the ground, swing your cane and jump, but press X 3 times, you will do a high jump. Sly, when you hold Square, does the spin attack in Sly 2. The animation of this also grounds you, or essentially places a floor under you. When you hold square and jump, you’ll see a puff of dust come from your feet, this is you being “grounded” allowing for 2 more jumps after the first. Cool little tech used in speedruns of the game, but makes the traversing before having paraglided very fun.
Sly 2 still remains one of my favorite games growing up. I've been replaying the trilogy and i'm genuinely amazed by how much i still enjoy these games. Moments like these really make me agree with the people that claim 'nostalgia is a drug' lmao.
Sly 2 was one of those games I just had to play when I was a kid, and I fell in love with it just like I knew I would. It's always been my favorite game (tied with a few others, because you can't just have one). The fact that this game had 3 playable characters and 8 (eight!) self-contained open worlds is unlike anything we had seen in gaming. The level of immersion found within is remarkable for its time and now. The story, characters, music, visuals and gameplay all stand out, also of a caliber not seen or felt to that point. The charm matched the ambition and you know the folks who made it just loved what they were doing (Sucker Punch is still like a family today and those devs still work there). Nothing beats opening up the Paris level for the first time as the camera pans the skyline and we see Sly sneak crawl to the safehouse in style. It's a beautiful game that's more fun to play today than most modern "games." I'm glad Matty is a real fan and not just covering it to have something retro. Great to see some old school gamers that have fondness and appreciation for the Cooper gang.
Sly 2 was amazing. It did not just walk. It should have walked, but instead it ran, and ran plenty. Like Forest Gump running and those leg braces falling off.
Sly 2 was my first Sly game my cousin had it. I remember getting a copy and getting stuck on the tutorial because I didn't realize what the R3 stick was. He had to show me LOL I was 6

I love games from childhood being brought up today. The first 4 ratchet and clanks, the sly trilogy, the Jack and daxters, the ape escape trilogy, etc. they don’t make games like they used to 😢
I usually will play through the whole series every other year and sly 2 is always the one I look forward too! it's definitely in my top 3 vgoat. funny enough though, as much I love the series as a whole part of what really made sly 2 stick with me so much as a kid was that I was only able to play the opening heist on a jampack demo disc on repeat for a while until I was able to finally get a copy from my uncle for christmas, my hype was maxed out at that point and the game was everything I was hoping it could be. as fossilized as demo discs are and really demos as a whole now, they helped introduce you to sleeper titles (rise of honor, burnout 3, DefJam NY, etc) that you maybe wouldn't have played otherwise. I really just miss discovering little weird AA games that weren't necessarily indie but also weren't super high budget exclusives either that all had a bunch of small cult followings.
First time I played Sly 2, I was bewildered and put off by the extensive changes made to the game's formula. Where did the horseshoes go? Why don't the enemies die in one hit? How do I deal with the torch bearing guards; they're too OP. Help, I'm scared! Nowadays it is hands down my favourite game in the series. I love the environments and the gameplay (with a few exceptions; looking at the helicopter missions), and I adore the story. The only thing that really holds it back from perfection is the fact that unlike Sly 3 there is no mission replay system, so the only way to experience the story again is to start over from the beginning again.
Aparently there was supposed to be a Monaco episode which would be the second episode for Dimitri. Dimitri doesn't seem like he's that well connected to the plot and villain operation with the spice anyway. All the other villains are connected with each other somehow.
My all time favourite game as a 26 year old man now , the nostalgia is real. The only video game I've ever got a tattoo of 😂 To this day it holds up and I recommend it to everyone of my younger family members , what a sublime game 🙌
I just finished Sly 1 on PS5 and am seriously considering going back to my PS3 to play the rest of the collection. Hopefully Sony brings him back after the success of 1 on Classics!

I really wish they would make a Sly Cooper 5 and get Sly out of Ancient Egypt. I have a theory that Slys Ancient Egypt family member is ACTUALLY Sly him self if he never gets saved and makes him stay there for the rest of his live.
Love the cooper games, at least the firs 3, did not get the chance to play the 4th game... But i keep my HD pack of the first 3 games for the ps3 safe and sound!
Sly 2 band of thieves was my very first video I played I could never beat the Rajan Watermelon mission as a kid it wasn’t until I got the ps3 collection and I finally beat it. Love this game
My favorite Sly game is Sly 4, but I also really love Sly 2 and Sly 3. I think Sly 1 is my least favorite of the 4 games, but I still enjoy that one too
While not perfect, Sly 2 is peak in terms of story, character development, and themes. It was games like this was one of the reasons the PS2 is still considered the greatest home console ever made! And that really says a lot. Now, think you could do a video cover Ratchet & Clank 3 for its 20th anniversary sometimes?
Please make a video about Sly 4! A lot of people are shitting on it and it would be great to see someone say nice things about it for once. Sly 2 is still my favorite as well, but Sly is incredibly underrated and overhated.
I had to turn off music just to hear the clue bottles sadly I couldn’t turn off the ambient music cause it shares the sound for the clue bottles Neyla was honestly the weakest point of the game cause she didn’t have a reason to do what she did, she was a rookie was brought in by the contessa, but was brought foreword by arpeggio. She didn’t have a vendetta, she just wanted the birb and that was it, which made her fall short
Gotta be the most underrated franchise in gaming history. The OG trilogy is a pure classic, each game was got amazing gameplay and a super well written story with superb characters. Sly 4 was definitely a downgrade in both gameplay and story, but its still a decent game (it wasnt made by sucker punch like the OG trilogy).
YES YES YES YES YES, these and Ghost of Tsushima was Sucker Punch on top of their game, i wonder what's next for them, hopefully our favourite raccoon buddy returns :)
Now THIS game I can't wait to come to PS5. Sly 1 is solid but some of those minigames are brutal, especially being mandatory lol. Band of Thieves was my all time fav growing up and 2 and 3 are for sure coming, come onnnn Sony lol
