Well, there IS the "fan theory" that the Indiana Jones movies are what Han Solo was dreaming while he was frozen in Carbonite..... I would argue that theory is supported by the Indiana Jones references in Luthen's shop.
ngl, when Luthen referenced the Rakatans i screamed like a little fan girl! i have long been a gamer, focusing primarily on star wars, the elder scrolls and fallout franchaises and to see the rakatans become actual canon is awesome. also, i want to say that Andor is not only the best star wars series i've ever seen it's in probably the top 10 best series i've ever seen.the acting is phenomenal, it is exceptionally well written and filmed and, to be entirely candid, i felt emotionally drained after many episodes. it's been a long time since i've felt such a strong emotional connection to so many characters in a single series.
I totally agree about like, everything you said. Andor is not only the most incredible Star Wars media I've ever seen, but it's probably in my top 5 TV series of all time now.
Cassian gives the kyber crystal necklace to Vel to return to Luthen. So the necklace wasn't a gift just a down payment for the heist. Luthen is one of my new favorite Star Wars characters.
Your point about the Separatists is what frustrates me most about the Sequel trilogy. They didn't need to be about "The First Order" and "somehow Palpatine has returned"- they could have run just fine with a reemergence of the CIS and the struggles of the New Republic to convince the galaxy at large to rebuild the old system which was obviously not working for everyone. How do they deal with the leaders of the Rebel Alliance who knew the full history of the Clone Wars fighting with the younger people like Luke and Leia who only have a historical propaganda understanding of what led to the formation of the Empire- would those leaders go to war with each other knowing each others' tactics over whether to allow secession or try to maintain the republic by force? With no Clones to fight a war for them, no Jedi to lead armies, no Sith pulling the strings on both sides, how would the new era of Star Wars have run?
I agree completely. The whole First Order thing is just poor writing, and poor world-building. Whoever wrote the sequel trilogy either had no interest in Star Wars canon, or wasn't given enough time to craft a decent story.
@@Beery1962 I could absolutely see a place for the First Order, but I don't see a reason to call them that. The remnants of the Empire would still have financial power and connections throughout the galaxy and while they may not be able to build things like Starkiller Base and the Supremacy, they could still be a threat- especially when they are technically on the side of the New Republic wanting to keep their centralized authority over seceding planets. The concept was misused.
@@casinodelonge You got it. With a very sadistic commander. I'm trying to remember his name. Gammel or Grammel I think. And Yuzzen that sounded like they resemble Marvel's Man Thing. Wow going back aways for me lol. I actually got that book from Scholastic book club in 79 lol. I was in 4th grade! 😂
The wierd thing about the Indiana Jones Easter eggs is that remind us that this is a film, they break the wall that DC COmics have dealt with time and again that Earth 1 is not the same world as we are.
6:08, while it’s not obvious, the sankara stone on the left is not the same size as the sankara stone on the right. This asymmetry is most likely the third sankara stone (completing the set, since there were always three stones in the movie).
Those holocrons that are larger are not holocrons they are Datacrons made by the Rakata. Datacrons can impart knowledge and Abilities, it was how Rakatanms trained their people.
I think it'd be a bit much for Luthen to be an actual Jedi (it'd almost be obvious and raise the power level a bit... unless he cut himself off from the force like Ciri? from JFO or something), but he... he sure does have the vibe sometimes, doesn't he. Like he's not, but he *sure darn looks like one sometimes* For instance, the staff: We've seen it, it's a folding vibroblade, which of course is very 'dime store lightsaber'.
23:02 it really irritates me in cinema when they dont give you the satisfaction of watching the pieces fit together till completion before cutting to the next scene...it triggers my ocd
Prisoners being moved to other floors or facilities is the only one but most irritating little thing about overall enjoyable Andor. There is no way those transferred prisoners won't reveal this to their new fellow inmates. Even without what happen with Andor, this is just asking for prison rebellion.
Yes. They said they made a mistake and redeployed him to the same prison. Kino aggressively put down unverifiable rumors, and it's likely that they would have put other prisoners in charge with the same mentality. It's only when they screwed up and put someone back into the same facility, where his story could be verified, that it really becomes a problem. Remember when Cassian/Keev told them that he was imprisoned for nothing? The audience is expected to expect that the response will be "sure, buddy", but he's immediately believed. They already know that people are being imprisoned for nothing, which means their sentences can be extended for nothing, too. Again, it's only when it's proven that they admit to themselves that they have no better choice. (Also, as pointed out in this video, it's a metaphor for the whole galaxy.)
The empire is xenophobic They didn't want any aliens in their ranks so yeah all of imperials are humans But there's an alien imperial guard in niamos in the scene where andor got six years.
In Legends Canon Grand Admiral Thrawn was the only alien to make it into the empire and that was only because his phenomenal tactical and strategic ability. Spoiler . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Ashoka mentions Thrawn in The Mandalorian season 2 (I almost passed out cold when she did), so he's canon in this universe as well. I'm still hoping that they scrap the abysmal sequel series and move towards legends canon. It would never be a complete legends version, but even moving towards it would be good. After all, Dave Filoni finished Rebels in such a way as to set up Heir to the Empire.
@@lucypeace6132 They've been pulling pieces out of Legends for all the series all along. We will see more, but incorporated in a way that will give Disney the space to pick and choose the timing and context.
I agree that it is the best of the sequels so far, due to the depth of the character development and storyline of how the rebellion becomes a major threat to the Empire
Cassian was basically the maker of his own death. (IMO This show paid close attention to srtuff like that. Every little thing matters, even the finest detail)
Am I wrong or is the blaster Clem is holding the same one cassian uses throughout the series. Would make since from fathers passing down firearms to their children and a easy to miss detail.
