This is the hot setup for starting small engines also eliminating the possibility of injury when engines start. It spins the Honda 350x over like crazy where them can be stubborn to get running at times. I always wanted to build one of these dog clutch starter drives but with the broken leg made this idea even more practical. One wouldn't even need a lathe to build one, just use/grind some washers for spacers and weld things up. I included a bunch of footage where several fails happened but as usual - very educational, another learning experience! Here's a link to the awesome drill I am using.

Several quick notes I should of included too - To final test I left the machines outside overnight where it was below zero. The drill worked great (better). One other note - those machines do have a compression release. The kicker can be held down slightly and then released, that did work every time.... Just didn't show that on camera.
