When I tried to impress my dad with my new found knowledge of the small faces he just blew me off calling them commercial and not cool. Like the Stones and the Doors weren't commercial, lol. Genuinely love this song, and the small faces in general. One of the first songs I learned hacking through the ancient songbooks with only chord diagrams (if lucky) and notes. I'm sure he secretly enjoyed the song too, how can you not ? It's all too beautiful !!!
This was one of the favorite songs of a friend of mine who died last year. Just heard it on Florida Magic Oldies today and it made me think of him. Love the song even if it tears me up these days. It's all too beautiful
Sencillamente maravilloso tema, por su tiempo y su mensaje en ese momento, y por la banda. En México la radio la trasmitía en los 70's como cualquier canción -sin censura-, gracias al idioma. (escribe Jorge Villa).
This song takes me back to my high school days, but that’s not all, ¡ I’m dating my sweet heart of those days !!! I have the music but not the lyrics and that’s why I’m here.
I was a baby when this came out, I just found out The Bridge of Sighs was a bridge prisoners passed under while on their way to prison. They knew their life was ruined.
We love having an excuse to critique The Small Faces on our show - it dates back to our beginnings. This time we look forward to talking about the fuzzed/distorted instrument sounds that nowadays seem normal but back then were the beginning of a huge change in rock music. It's all too beautiful! :D
Buffalo, NY - Late 60's - Albright Knox Art Gallery grounds, Lincoln Parkway side (future sight of Phil DiRe's, Buffalo Jazz Ensemble , which helped to create the world famous, Spirogyra). Located behind the Elwood entrance to Buffalo State College. The grounds were teeming with us kids 100- 300) back then; from Friday after school until Sunday night. Just hanging out watching and meeting new friends. It was 'all too beautiful' back then. (sigh) Time flies, whether your having fun or not... TW Small Faces...
Forget Mick Jagger , forget Rod Stewart , the only English male singer that came close to Stevie , was Paul Rodgers , but for me , Stevie was the guvnor by a wide margin
I wish steve was a better businessman. How ever back then band managers were crooks. It was hard to find honest people. Steve was a friend . Still love the song.
