I grew up going through these small towns, my mother was born and lived in the surrounding area, Adel GA, Douglas, Pearson, Waycross, Nashville, Tipton, Willacoochoee and all the churches..... My Great Grandfather was a Preacher in the area, Rev. Walter L. Vining - RIP 10/25/1967 .....lots of memories with family and visiting all the things! Thank you for the video.... I need to put in a road trip wow the memories!!! Thanks Adam!
Adam, so fun that you done through my hometown of Eastman and visited Stuckey’s store #1. The old candy plant is right next to it (red brick building). One of these days, I hope to have the funds to buy that store where my grandparents started our family business and renovate it. Next time you’re in Georgia, please visit the new Stuckey’s candy plant in Wrens, GA. We have a mural out front that celebrates Georgia roadside attractions and a gift shop that includes a bunch of Stuckey’s memorabilia (like the first pecan log roll box). I’m a fan of your channel and am glad you mentioned that we’re making a comeback. Thank you 🙏
Hey Stephanie! I’m originally from Eastman and my grandmother worked at Stuckey’s when she was in her 20’s (she passed in 2005 but would be about 95 now) and then worked in the building when it was Middle GA restaurant in the early 2000’s! So cool to see my hometown featured by the Daily Woo!
@@TheDailyWoothank you! There are only 13 original Stuckey’s with the classic sloped roof architecture still in operation. The ones in Hattiesburg, MS, Summerton, SC, Milton, FL and Johnson City, IL are great examples of the traditional store design. Stop by if you pass them on your travels!
I am glad you changed your mind on buying a house in Georgia .I like the bubble town celebration, plus being by your parents .I think it makes your mom happy when she gets to spend time with you .Thank you for sharing Adam ,All us are happy to join you on your travels adventures
I spent the summer in Patterson, GA in 2010. Going around to Blackshear and Waycross was so fun, checking out abandoned buildings. I love the small town feel. Great video Adam!
Wow! You were about 50 yards from my house when you were walking around the big city of Broxton GA 😂 Wish I could have met you. I've been watching your channel for few years now. Great stuff!
Also how cool is that about the house! I’m from Waycross. My grandfather worked for CSX railroad as a diesel mechanic after the Korean War. He is a navy vet
I love small towns and have always wondered where that Barney Fife Mural was. If you don't like Barney, you can nip it in the Bud. Thanks for this one.
So much to see in America; these small towns, have i'm sure at one time...were Great Places to live; what's sad is when you see how many are now vacant, and wonder who lived and worked there. you get the Pensive feeling..and sometimes sad too! I see cars and trains...but no People...erie??? Last Picture Show, the tours are very interesting....so happy you decided to stay put in Celebration, near your family....🦋🦋
Every time I have driven through Waycross, I sing that great western song about Waycross, GA. They have a great western/southern music festival every year. Never actually been there at that time, but if I'm in the area, I'd certainly attend. All the great country music artists have played their, including Elvis.
Glad you got your petrol flap isue sorted. Thank for showing how to getaround it, might be useful to someone one day. love these back road videos .thanks Adam
28:07 Stuckeys !! Wow that brought back some memories back in the 80’s travelling from California to Wisconsin and back to see family we always stopped there . My parents said we could get a souvenir from each state and I chose “toothpick holders” deep cut haha. I probably have 20 different state shot glasses purchased mostly from Stuckeys. Thanks Adam for bring back such great memories.
I love it when you do road adventures. It's what attracted me to your channel years ago, and it will always be the content that I like best. Nobody shows off and enjoys small town Americana or shares it better than Adam the Woo!
I just love your show. I used to live in Waycross, so this was a nice blast from the past. Keep up the videos, I like to see what you're up to every day while I enjoy my own piping hot beverage. 😅
Adam, I’m pretty sure the gas latch is connected to your door locks. If you went in for a piping hot caffeinated beverage, you locked the car, thus locking the gas door.
Adam, love small towns! There's still an old Stuckey's off the exit in Marietta, Ok but, abandoned ones on I-35 and I-40 going towards OKC. Really enjoyed your video and can't wait till your next vlog.
Thanks for showing the small town videos. This is how your channel got started and I wish you would go back to that more. You can buy a van or SUV and convert it to travel in. I'm sorry about your gas problems. Thats the problem with these electric cars these days.
You know Adam, if you ever want to explore and do videos on Waycross, GA...you can always just rent out your Celebration, FL house and then rent a house in Waycross for say 6 months or a year....But don't sell your FL house. It looks like there are more things to do in Celebration.
The Folkston Train is often live streamed from that little watch place....not always, but I have watched several live streams from there... I love watching train and airport live streams.
There was a level of excitement seeing those Stuckey's signs across Route 66 from the back of our stationwagon. Clean restrooms, gas, souvenirs and treats.
Some nice findings in GA. Whatever company you got the car from, should contact them and see if you can take it in to a nearly location and have them fix it or change vehicles. That a pain for 2 weeks of driving. I had a similar issue on my Altima and had to fix it.
Oh, that is a nice town very quiet if you like quiet town, I don’t know if you went through Yatesville or not when you were here I think you went through Barnesville. You need through Yatesville small town ❤
“Home of the original pecan log” I can remember my first time eating one years ago. My first and last. Hello Adam. This was a very interesting vlog. Your adventures “on the road” are a way we can see so many places we can’t see by ourselves… Thanks for sharing your adventures with us! ❤🤗❤
This is great!!! I love Disney but secondly I absolutely love driving back roads, roadside attractions you're filming makes it feel like im riding shot gun. Have fun and praying for safe travels!
I love this content!!! I'm disneyed out. Lol it's ok though, it's your channel. But yeah I'd rather express this and not hold it in. For the best of the channel. I respect you adam and thank you
Adam. That futuristic vehicle is called an Argo. Argo is a 6 or 8 wheeled off-road amphibious vehicle. The one you saw was missing the center wheel, and some have tracks like a tank on it.
Those vehicles are amphibious, looks like someone mounted a propeller type attachment where the middle wheel would go in order to make it go faster across the water...
Hi Adam, you will find the fuel cap release, parallell to your leg, between the Door and drivers seat. It can also be tied to the trunk release button. Which you pull up to open, but push down to open the fuel cap! As I had similar drama driving a GM grand prix, with that style of fuel cap release! If there is no marking, push to release!
Good morning from Waycross GA!!!! Yay!!!! You made it back this way. AWESOME! The little Mexican restaurant there in Folkston is a place we visit often. Worth the drive!! Man this is soooooo cool that you were in my neighborhood!!! Safe travels my friend and THANK YOU!!!!!
Hey Adam 🤗 I’m glad you managed to sort out the fuel cap issue - who would ever think there is something under by the wheel 🫣 loved that view at the end 😊 great day 1, looking forward to seeing what else you get up to ♥️ xxx
On my car you cannot open the gas door if the doors to the car are locked. I found this out when I first bought it because I have a habit of locking my car for safty when i'm not in it at the gas station.
Same! I sat at a gas station not knowing what to do when they showed me at the dealership how easily it pops open with just a tap. I then relock my doors after I pop open the gas cap. But the doors must be unlocked to open the cap.
Morning Adam 😎📸 the woo. Back roads are the best explore them nicely. Like seeing what was popular but some buildings are abandoned on the back roads. Thanks for taking us on the back roads of America. Hope you don't have to much of car problems, sounds like it's already happening. You take care. Stay safe. ✌️
I'm another fan of that mural it is featured prominently on Google search so technically you just helped me take off something on my bucket list thank you! They're really needs to be a museum dedicated to his life not just as Barney Fife but Mr limpet and The Apple dumpling gang! Don Knott's is great! Safe travels! Thanks for the info on the fuel door I am going to VIP this sometimes hertz doesn't exactly tell you that there's been a known issue very good information!
Adam you have to unlock all the doors with the door lock switch inside then you can push the gas cover door open. We have two vehicles that work this way (it took me a few minutes to figure out). Take care we have not talked in many year, we met you at Disneyland long ago.
Wow, Folkston!! I did some growing up there in the 90s! My grandfather was band director and principal of the high school way back in the day. My mom and aunts and uncles did some growing up there too! My mom just went there for her 50th high school reunion! Never thought I’d see it on a vlog! Visit Cartersville if you go up that far, small town but way bigger than Folkston. Second Guardians of the Galaxy did some filming in the historic downtown, plus Plant Bowen was in the background towards the beginning of the film! Safe travels!
Enjoyed the video. Hopefully, you can make it to the Hero con in Charlotte this weekend. Also, there is a youtube channel there in fouston Ga virtual rail fan. Its a live cam of trains there all over the country we love watching them.
I was wondering when you was going to take us on a road trip again. Most of your videos here lately are about Disney World. Thanks so much for taking us along and for an awesome video.
Nice start of your road trip, always finding old relics or history! If it's not having delays or cancelations on planes , it's having the gas tank thinga mah jig stuck?!! But you still make it through 😊👍🏼 Can't wait for tomorrow's video! Stay safe Adam and have a wonderful road trip!😉
I love my small town after having lived in the middle of the hustle and bustle. In fact, it’s a town that Adam actually stopped in briefly during his road travels.
I live in Douglas Ga in Coffee County. My wife is a teacher in Broxton and my Mother grew up in Eastman. I remember going to that Stuckeys as a child and getting the broken candy for Pennies
About 30 years ago, I had car trouble about 1/2 mile from the abandoned store at 32:30. It was open then, so I walked there in hopes of using a phone(this was pre cell phone for me). Honestly, the store was hanging on, but had very minimal inventory (drinks, candy, crackers etc). Anyway, I walked there and the nice older black gentleman proprietor said he had no phone there. However, to my disbelief, he very graciously volunteered to drive me to his nearby residence and allowed me to use his home phone. Unreal. I was very grateful. I offered to pay him but he wouldn’t take it. I still pass that place pretty regularly and think about that experience every time.
