@@RobertK1993 If we knew for sure that there was sentient alien life with advanced civilization out among the stars, it would change everything about our culture, expectations, civilization, technology, .. religion, just everything, very very quickly. Some would be scared out of their wits, others, like myself, would be enthusiastic and overjoyed. Look at what happened when we realized, at the end of the renaissance that the stars were suns with planets. .. and early in the 20th when we realized that Andromeda was another Galaxy.
@@kathleenhensley5951 nah it wouldnt change anything from the basics like poltiics, religion or culture in general, because those are hard integrated within humans and any other sentient being to that intelligence, also about "expectations" we already made-up so many "what if" alien or fantasy races in media that we've covered almost every expectation, but finding life in other place than earth is virtually impossible and would have happened long ago if there was any
@@user-rb3tk5th2i Disagree, entirely. It would change everything, even for those who don't understand the implications, rationally. I suspect most people wouldn't be able to comprehend all the Changes, instantly, but there would be a profound change in human understanding of his nature and the nature of our universe, even in the nature of God. It would be final nail in the coffin of human uniqueness. It would be the biggest change mankind ever faced, only events like the end of the last ice age, would be even, comparable. We aren't even a blip in the cosmic sense. So far, in the galaxy, we just a blue-green grain of sand. Aliens would have to happen upon our planet accidentally- an error, literally, maybe a malfunction in their ship, unless some 5th level civilization is purposely cataloging all star systems in our area of space. It is like looking for a diamond in a pile of quartz. We haven't made enough noise, cosmically, to be noticed. Our radio, TV, and communications are a barely a whisper, at the interstellar level, and it's only been 100 yrs since we started really making noise. Except for SETI, no one is even trying to make us more than that grain of sand. Yes, it is nearly impossible but not entirely impossible. Europa, Mars, Titan are likely candidates for, at least, microscopic life. We are just beginning our exploration of JUST our solar system. The biggest issue facing us is not whether there are civilizations more advanced than us, it is whether faster- than- light travel, travel between the stars, is actually possible. Find a way to travel between stars that doesn't take centuries, and we will find life on other planets, for sure, or, they will find us. I am still optimistic. We are at the very beginning of a great adventure, if we don't destroy ourselves.
This is a super-handsome, tough, brave dude with amazing super powers and these chicks are always so fucking CONFLICTED about their feelings for him, lol! Only on TV. In real life if he told Lana and Chloe he wanted to have threeways with them, they would totally have said yes in a second. If he said he wanted to date them both and be a "throuple", they would have agreed to that too. They would be THROWING themselves at him IRL. Only on TV does it drag out dramatically like this, 😂
I'm glad they officially let Lana Lang in on Clark's secret and finally learning the truth, the whole thing of Clark constantly lying and keeping it from her was getting very old, it made for a nice change of dynamic and helped set up season 7 really nicely
Clark and Lana got old by season 5. He should have moved on with Chloe and Lois during the second half of the series. Dragging out the Lana relationship killed the show.
@@44excaliburhey really did drag that out. When she left and he was moving out with Lois, I was like... Finally...... and then him and Lois had that moment at the wedding and Lana showed up... I was like wtf?? You have got to be kidding me... How far can y'all drag this shit on....
@@silverstein761 Agreed. I've said before that the writers of Smallville forgot what show they were writing. This isn't Dawson's Creek or some other WB/CW show where a male protagonist obsesses about the girl he loved in high school until he's in his 30s. Everyone knew from day one that Lana was not the woman that Clark would end up with, so nothing the writers did with them made any sense. I'm glad the Smallville creators today regret what they did and admit that Clark/Lana should have ended after three seasons. The truth is, Clark and Chloe should've gotten together after their season 5 kiss, and the whole thing with Chloe and Jimmy never should've happened. He was better with Kara, anyway. Chloe was wasted on that relationship with Jimmy since he only ended up dead, and Clark was wasted on two more seasons of obsessing over Lana. They should've ended Clark and Lana after season 4, had Clark and Chloe together after season 5, and then gotten Clark and Lois together by season 8.
@@44excaliburthat's not entirely true. Roswell 1999, where Max obsessed over Liz, until she was shot and he saved her ... though I don't remember which network took them on. It was a little long, but for a show back in the those days it was the norm for the male protagonist to obsess over the girl he couldn't have. Smallville is about Superman's younger years and so it belongs to Clark and Lana. Lois belongs in the later years.
Lana and Lois both did something that I truly believe takes a special kind of person to carry out. While there are many many things that separate Lois from Lana and in fact are the reasons Lois succeeded where Lana did not, they both shared one quality that made them good for Clark (well Lana's immaturity in earlier years is why she didn't have the quality till later which may be why things didn't work out) they both recognized when Clark was feeling scared and vulnerable and did everything they could non verbally to reassure him and let him know he is safe. It's scary to open up, you feel endangered and afraid. People who recognize that can either hurt you or comfort you. These 2 saw Clark's fear and made sure he knew he was safe with them.
Currently rewatching this series and can't wait until I get to this part because once again, season 2 ep 14, Clark has lost Lana because he refuses to tell her the dang truth!
They shouldn't have tried to make it work. Clark and Chloe were clearly better for each other after season 5, and Clark was always going to end up with Lois anyway. They wasted the audience's time with Clark/Lana.
@@44excaliburong bro. Clark and Lana should’ve been done by season 5. How many times can you break up and get back together fuck me. Lois and Chloe were so much better
@@christophermorgan9199 Yep, I agree. The writers themselves now acknowledge that they should have ended Clark/Lana after high school, but I think they were too afraid of the Clana fans and Kristin's popularity at the time with the network.
This is such a great scene - both Tom and Kristin were perfect in it. But from a story standpoint, there's also one major flaw: Lana's lack of a reaction when Clark says he's from Krypton. At the start of Season 6, when Lex is possessed by Zod, he tells Lana that he is from Krypton. Being that Zod both tried seducing her and also killing her, you'd think that Lana would remember when Clark mentions his homeworld. So either the writers forgot when they wrote "Phantom", or they simply chose to ignore the prior events, thinking the fans would as well.
Things didnt work out with lana and clark because Lex made sure they couldnt be in the same room together or clark would die by turning lana into a living piece of kryptonite.

@@thetuckster4800 Yeah, plots on TV are so ridiculous. Ah, well. That's how they fill 22 episodes. I personally think all seasons of a show should be 7-8 eps TOPS.
Going through this with Lana made him ready for Lois. Lois was a force of nature,a fighter, unafraid, not the damsel in distress. He may not have fallen for Lois if he hadn't experienced the opposite in Lana
@@chandanv8769don’t forget it was lex who broke them up using that Simone girl which shows you how much an evil snake lex can really be by acting like he’s done them no wrong when he has and don’t forget the marriage between Lana and lex was a sham
They should’ve been done by season 5. They could’ve maybe introduced other love interests or focused more on Lois. Everytime Lana and Clark had like an argument scene or smt it physically pained me
Your entitled to your opinion, but everyone don't feel the same and enjoyed the show. Not sure what the point of saying something negative about a show from 20 years ago and also something you had no way of changing about the show so 🤷
