It's ironic how while Lana is saying goodbye to a tearful Clark, the love of his life is right at his doorstep and even comforting him with a hug. What a foreshadow
He sees Lois and immediately hold everything in... The look on her face, and the slight head shake to say "Don't hold it, let it out" I think is amazing!!
@@RedK5 well of course mate... If you've been crying and someone comes in and you turn around. You can hold everything in. But you'll still have signs of being upset and crying. I don't understand your point. Just because he couldn't hold back the sadness for very long, doesn't mean he didn't try to hold it all in 🙄
That moment at 2:13. I always saw that as him finally just being weak for a moment. When Lois walks in he tries to put a brave face on because that’s Clark Kent. Always wants to put everyone else first and not have them worry for him.. but he finally just lets it all go and cries. As soon as he does that Lois runs over to him because she knows how broken he is in that moment.
The song playing in the background perfectly reflects Lois’ changing feelings towards Clark. I don’t think she’s willing to admit her feelings yet, but she beginning to realize that he’s different from all the other men in her life. What an absolutely beautiful scene between Lois and Clark...
I was sooo in tears over this...the way she said goodbye....made me cry more than the episode where they actually were together, and everything went wrong and Clark had to decide to give her up just to save her life....that one musta been even harder on him.
I love scenes like this with Clark and Lois. Lois can make fun and annoy Clark to no end, but not in times like these. When Clarke is upset or heartbroken she comforts him no questions asked
Yeah nicely said. It sums up their relationship perfectly. She can annoy him half the time and drive him crazy yet she's always there for him. She jumps onto something really quickly but she dosent ask questions. Just trusts his jugment and his feelings.
That saga should never ended. For me, Clark and Lana were meant to be. That's one the love stories rarely seen. And how can anyone say that such a deep love, like what Clark and Lana do have for each other, should ended with videotape message? Even more knowing she was forced to make that statement...
@@anthonyanguiano5348 On the fact Clark gave up his powers I tend to agree with you. After he had lost so many importants and beautiful things, at least one he really wanted to he got: he fully embraced his humanity.
I think the writers had to get rid of Lana, majority of us was cheering for them from the beginning. If she was always around, we'd always be hopeful somehow they'd end up together.
God. I feel bad for Clark. Lana left him. Glad Lois was there to comfort him. It looks like she was heartbroken by the news herself. Right next to that scene with them in "Siren", this is one of Clois's very emotional and tearjerking moments. Just lovely.
This was so devastating in real time. Before the internet was big so this was a punch to the gut and I cried ngl. The most cowardly way to break someone's heart😭😭😭
I have to add that Tom was asked the question why it didn't work out with Clark and Lana and he responded (paraphrasing) that Lois was a more mature love and Lana was Clark's first young love.
It was never supposed to work out with Clark and Lana, and their relationship should've ended back in season 5 instead of dragging it out across seven seasons.
I always thought this was one of the most emotional scenes of the show. Everyone really gave great understated performances. As well-acted as the final goodbye in Season 8 was, the circumstances of this one felt truer...someone realizing that they're just not meant to be.
@ericsessa3579 yeah I was always rooting for this couple. Lana sadly tried so hard and so did Clark. I will say one thing. Gough and Milar dragged the story out way too long. Clark and Lana are star crossed lovers. What happens to star crossed lovers? Usually one of them dies or both. Season 6 finale should have been Lana getting shot in front of Clark. Then he holds her in his arms as she’s taking her final breaths. 🙏🙏 That would have made more sense to me.
I could watch this scene over and over. The part where Lois hugs him...best hug with them I've seen. It's been a long time since I watched this show. Forgot how much certain scenes could make you cry-more than any TV shows now.
Omg I remember this episode 😭 I was relating my 14 years relationship with the pain that clark was feeling from the loss of Lana Lang leaving him and sacrificing her happiness and true love for him 💔 😢 but to allow him to be here to help and protect us the world with his abilities and I cried so hard seeing Clark heart hurting for Lana, very sad ending to such a difficult love story 😢
Wow, Such an amazing heartbreaking scene. And as for Clark, Even though he's not human, just the moment of him needing someone to lean on, and to let the emotions come out...is one of the most human things he's ever experienced. 😔👍
Love the one that will love you in return, love can never be one sided, it could never work. Love is.... two people serving one another. Lana always seemed like a troubled soul. Know it is only a series, but still.... Lana is capable of that love..... and doesn't hurt if she is so gorgiously beautiful - had to invent new wording for this type of beauty 🌹❤️
don't worry i got smallville last christmas and i really liked it and i will rewatch it again after my birthday on april 25th on 26th that is the day of tom welling's birthday and i will rewatch it again i promise
"Please don"t come after me" It's what hurts me the most. The only girl that I have ever loved told me that. Those words till this day still freaking hurt me, I need her, she was my happiness. I'm sorry Tina. Mein Mädel
The only person to every make Clark feel comforted was always Lois. Even when they had they banters, she stood by him. This scene proved how much they had grown and how much Clark began trusting Lois more with his vulnerability. Love my Clois ❤❤❤❤
As much as it was sad to see their final together it wasn't going to be long before the one who came in the door to comfort him would be his new found love as it was meant to be with Lois Lane. For me it was just another example that the series was ending. Smallville forever
This hit me... really hard for me honestly... cause i know how it feels to be broken up with over audio/video...and I also love how it's Lois who's the first person to comfort him... So heartbreaking...
I've been broken up with that way twice in my life and both of them hurts and just breaks you cus I remember when I watched this esipode/scene it was litterally a couple days after it was done to me and I completely broke down watching cus I knew exactly how he was feeling in that moment
Such fantastic writing. All the years of convincing us to root for Clana. That Lana was his soul mate. Always wondering how they were not only going to make us let go of Clana, but how in the hell would they transition us to Clois. Then....this scene. Amazing. Just amazing. The perfect goodbye from Lana, letting him know that he means everything to her, but that she knows she has to let him go, then Lois giving him a moment to accept that goodbye. Then realizing he needs her to console him. He needs her. He needs Lois. Bravo. 👏👏👏
Zack Snyder visually made Superman look incredible but these writers for Smallville absolutely nailed who Clark and by extension who Superman is. Clark in Smallville always put aside his pain to do the right thing whereas Snyder Superman seemed more volatile & ruled by his emotions. Here’s to hoping Gunn’s Superman is similar to Clark in Smallville.
Watching this again and I think this moment between him and Lois is quite possibly better than any moment when they're actually together. It's just so sweet. No expectations. She just feels his pain and runs to comfort him.
I believe that clois fans are offensive by lana and clark because they know how clark's first love and truth is lang lang in the smallville series. goodbye in a lot of different series that really love clark's love until the end is lana. other than the support and affection of clark. goodbye luisa was always in love with clark friends as a green arrow and a jefe of periodico is not bad at spearing when it is another.
@@anthonyanguiano5348 Clark isn’t with Lana because he can’t be…if he had to chose between her and Lois, he’d chose Lana every time…like he has done before…Lois and Clark is like Jon Snow and Daenerys…Clark and Lana is like Daenerys and Khal Drogo. lol
@@thebadguychinli4011 I’m not sure what that last part even means! The fact that Clark and Lana don’t end up together was the best thing to happen for Clark. He discovered a whole other world out there and fell in love with someone who he probably least suspected. In the end he got a happy ending.
I don't ship Clark with either of them, I skip both ships on show or comics…but the truth is his relationship with Lana is so annoying, he puts her before anyone and the whole world.
I know this might be an unpopular opinion. With Lois there was less drama. In my heart there is a part of me that wishes for Clark and Lana in this show at least to be together. I wasn’t a fan of the story line about Bizarro Clark coming between them or Lana taking on his abilities and we all know how that ended up. Many “Clois,” fans tell me that Lana was never meant to be with Clark. She might have been his first love 💕 but for him she will always be the “girl next door.” I believe had Lana not have kept things from him he might have in time chosen her. Unlike Lana, Lois allowed him to be his own person. Lana wanted to make a difference but she did it the wrong way. She lied about her good intentions. When she came back at the beginning of season 7 she should started the Isis foundation as she wanted to do to help people Lex hurt during the 33.1 experiments, been up front with Clark, and left Lionel and Lex alone. Hitting Lex where it hurt would have been not doing anything to him. She’s with the man she loves. While he’s all alone in that big mansion with no one else left to love him. That’s punishment enough. She didn’t do that? No. She spied on him. And worse lied about it. I’ll admit what Lex did with injecting hormones into her to make her believe she was pregnant was monstrous but keep the past where it belongs. In the past. Move on. Lex never came Clark and Lana. Not really. Lex lied 🤥 many times but he was who he was. Lana tried to do good things but covered them up with lies. There is a teeny weeny part of me that longs for Clark and Lana to be together. That wasn’t in the comic books however. It was always going to be Clark and Lois. Had the writers gone with the Clark and Lana ending up together instead of Lois, the show wouldn’t have lasted much longer.
YOUR ABSOULUTLY RIGHT BUT EVERYONE KNOWS THAT IN SUPERMAN LOIS LANE IS CLARK KENTS GIRLFRIEND AS MUCH AS ID LIKE THAT TO BE LANA INSTEAD THATS JUST THE WAY THE COOKIE CRUMBLES
OMG IM GOING TO BUY SEASON 7 IN A COUPLE DAYS B UT WHEN I SAW THIS ON RECOMMENDED VIDEOS I HAD TO WATCH ALTHOUGH I ALREADY KNEW LANA CAME BACK THIS TIME I THINK SHES NOT COMING BACK THIS IS SOOOOOOOO SAD IYS ON MY TOP 5 WITH WAREHOUSE 13 WHEN STEVE DIED
clark and lois are not at all friends, not by a long shot, but, when they need a friend the most, who is there for each other? i do love how smallville built up them 2s relationship :)
Refresh my memory, didn't Tess find Lana and threaten her or Clark when she recovered from Brianic? And then Tess tries to know Clark and buys the "Daily Planet" #SMALLVILLE #Clana #nostalgic
To me, Lana is Clark's true love. And Lois, the rebound girl, who managed to make him love again. Which gives this scene more depth. His love is gone, and she's here to pick up the pieces. It was done naturally. Not forced like most shows we see these days, with the writers inventing whatever bs, to have the hero/heroine date the other person.
To the world, Lois Lane is Clark Kent's one and only love. Lana wasn't even Lana in this show, she was some weird creation by the writers obsessed with the actress, she has no real personality, no real goal, and no real purpose besides drama for Clark's heart.
In no form of Superman story telling is Lois Lane a rebound?! Including Smallville. Once Clark fell for Lois, Lana could have returned and she would have had no chance. Lois is absolutely his main and true love. You Clana fans are something else.. 🤔
When she left the show died with her, since season 4 the character of lana is going be dark unfortunately at first, she was very shiny , poor lana she had the wrong character
@@anthonyanguiano5348 no. I'm a clana fan and even though I appreciate the relationship I can see that it was dragged on to long and Lois is and always be the perfect girl for him.
Holy shit man that was so FUCKING tragic man god damn. Truly heartbreaking. Also, I need to say this. Kristen Kreuk man. She acts so amazingly in this scene. Conveys so much emotion and sadness. It truly was so real. Tom Welling on the other hand, unfortunately not that great
Sorry, people, but in the Smallville universe, Lois is going to be Clark's possible love, not his real love. The way they did it, Lana will always be his undying love. Had it not been for the fact that he is Superman, Clana should have stayed together.
Nah, Clark was always more comfortable being himself around Lois than he was round Lana. Lois actually respected his boundaries. She didn’t force him to tell her all his secrets and she gave him the space to tell her when he was ready. Season 7 was literally about how they weren’t good together and season 8 was about then both getting closure so they could move on. Lana was his first, not his true.
Please they could never pass the googly eye stage something always got in the way that force them to reset with lois it was real they got googly and went pass that to a real relationship
Yeah never trusts him. Lois is quike to catch on and jump onto something but she can also see when something's wrong and she's also quike to comfort no questions asked.
