I wonder who would have really won in a fight against Clark and Zor-el. Zor-el could have just been a science nerd who never been in a single fight then again Jor-el waals a science nerd and he could fight so who knows.
No he doesn't. In "Traveler," he just has him kidnapped to protect him. Patricia Swan was sending Lionel all kinds of threatening letters. Also, Lionel was pissed when he saw how that guy was torturing Clark. Clark couldn't even listen to him. I hated him for that. Lionel really did change for the better and dedicated his life to protect Clark.
