Smallville was my childhood favorite. So if coming back I’m all for it

I’ve been watching Smallvile for a good while now and within the last 2 weeks I’ve finally gotten to season 9. I’m really excited to finish it! I had no idea there have been ideas or plans for some kind of continuation. I’ve REALLY grown to love this show!! It’s so good!! I would be very down and interested for some kind of continuation!!

Hopefully with Laura Diane Vandervoort as Kara Zor-el/Supergirl. She was the best of all time and IS !

As a huge fan of Smallville I Truly hope this Smallville animated continuation does come forth. Would be great to have most of the cast be involved. Including Laura Vandervoort as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl and Kristin Kreuk as Lana Lang. Both two of the best versions of those characters.

Mike been talking about this a few years, Really hope it goes into production, Arrowverse got its start from smallville, It would come full circle if it did come back.

The only character recast would be Allison Mack, the Smallville creators were busy writing BeetleJuice 2, so I guess their schedule is now free. Hope we finally see Clark as Superman

This would be so much better live action, especially to see Kristin Kreuk and Erica Durance, two of the most beautiful ladies ever to grace the screens.

I watched Lois and Clark back in the 90s, but after Smallville came out, there was nothing else. This is the Superman of my generation. I haven't seen a single episode of any series involving DC on television since then, (minus the Flash, but that was with my wife, prior to my divorce, so we won't talk about that). Smallville is all there is in my "Bat" world, so, anything but that is invisible. Bring my boy back!! Bring back my Smallville. I love it, I miss it!!

Man I just rewatched smallville again from start to finish and finally started reading the season 11 comics and maaaaannnn I really hope the animated series goes through. If so it’s gna be amazing and hopefully go past season 11 with new stories

YES! This would be awesome. I love Smallville and I think that Tom Welling was excellent as Clark. My youngest daughter was born in 2008 and I managed to convince my wife to name her Lana (yes, after Kristin Kreuk's portrayal of Lana Lang). Now you've got me fired up for a re-watch of my all time favorite DC show!

I've seen Smallville season 1 to 10 over a dozen times. I also watched it week to week for the whole 10 seasons and still remember the dramas how they were going to cancel after season 7 but us fans got 3 more seasons out of them. Damn straight there would be an audience for it, even if it's only us Smallville fans, that's still in the millions globally. Anyway, I'd rewatch the 10 seasons again if they were doing this animated series, I was watching the episode of the Smallville podcast with Tom and Michael and they spoke about all this. Smallville will always be my favourite DC show, Lois and Clark I liked as well but it always urked me that Dean Cain had hazel eyes and not the baby blues. They could have gave him contacts... I digress, I hope they do this animated show. I liked Superman and Lois too but it irks me on that that Tyler Hoechlin is only 5'12" and that they make him wear a padded Superman suit. It just looks weird to me, not to mention Lois actresses eyes look too weird and always distracts me from whatever scene she is in. Anyway rant over...

I feel like it would have a lot of fan interest and it would be relatively inexpensive considering it's animation rather than live action. Seeing the Smallville Superman vs Lex dynamic would be cool to watch. I would imagine part of the wait now is to get a feel for what the DC movies are going to be like, particularly the Superman vibe, so that they can make sure it's not going to be too similar. I'm referring to the tone of the movie and the universe, not the stories.

I love this idea of bringing Smallville back into animation!!! But 1 issue with the Batman character into the animation series because of the new Batman movie within the James Gunn changes. So it kinda feels weird to bring Batman into the series.

To be honest I think it would be a huge mistake making it animated. Part of the draw of the original was the people in the show but most of all was the fresh stories that didn't take away from superman, instead it gave more building blocks to the whole universe. If they picked up with the remaining cast 10 years later I think the show would take off again as it did before and the only problem I can see from that is the suit. This would mean Tom Welling would finally have to put the suit on. Other than that, I believe that the show would take off just as it did before. The biggest reason the show did so well is everyone is tired of getting the same story over and over every time they come out with a new actor playing superman. Until recently we got all the same story no matter how they twisted it. We all know his origin and are tired of him mainly taking on Lex or Zod. Smallville at the time was the closest we got to ever getting to see other villains being faced. We had such a huge amount of them that it made the show worth watching. Making it animated is like all other series fails and stupid moves usually done at the end of a series such as putting in a musical episode or doing too many flashback episodes because they can't make enough content to finish the season. If you truly want to reboot the series properly you need to bring back the cast that remains filling in the blanks for those who died or finding a way to incorporate a different person as the character who died in real life that would be acceptable. Like having one of them such as Cyborg being replaced by another version of him from a different universe. Maybe some kind of accident during a battle caused him and his counterpart to change places during the same battle on their perspective earths like when Clark was struck by lightning and his powers were transferred. Maybe a combo blast from the villains on each earth hitting them at the same time caused a switch. Anyway, the point is making it animated in my opinion would be death to the show right from the start. It's a cheesy way to do things and doesn't follow why people watched the show. There is a reason Marvel was so successful with the MCU and that is people love seeing live action because it feels more like it could exist. While animation allows for an easier way to do the show it also cheapens the content because everyone knows you can do anything with animation. Smallville was popular because it was live action and explored areas of the superman universe no other cartoon, series, or movie would do. It brought to life that which others wouldn't. The reason DCU live action has been failing is because they don't give the fans what they have always wanted where the MCU for the most part has. It has given the battles the fans want to see and have been waiting for so long to see. Seriously, How many times are we going to get Supermans beginning or Batmans fight with a Joker. Granted, DCU villains of the past seem to flop because it is as though they rushed and we got bad storylines, makeup, and costumes or they used people that just were not that into the stories or chose actors that don't fit the role. Smallville gave us believable villains for Superman to fight that were not even tried for other live action mediums. I realize Batman fights the joker more than once but when all you mainly see in movies is Batman fighting different versions of the joker and no other popular villains from the comics it gets old no matter how good the acting.

It would be tricky to incorporate Chloe! I think you need to leave her out of it. I seem to remember the character went off to leave that life at the end though so there's that.

Allison Mack, who portrayed Chloe Sullivan, is most likely not going to return. It's unlikely WB would want her back due to the sex trafficking scandal.

For smallville they either kill off chloe or a get a new voice actor.

In terms of time, aside from probably not having a fully formed pitch yet, one key thing to note is just how many Superman projects there are right now. 1. James Gunn's Superman movie (which will expand into the continuing DCU). 2. Superman & Lois (final season coming up). 3. My Adventures With Superman (season 2 being worked on). 4. Bad Robot co-produced Elseworlds Superman movie written by Ta-Nehisi Coates. That's just off the top of my head. There might be more I'm forgetting or unaware of. With that in mind, it's probably better for any attempt at yet another Superman project to wait until some of these things are in the rearview.

Only if Allison Mack is involved. After all, I wanted Chloe to be removed by season 4 and they kept making plots up for her. She went from annoying investigator to supergenius hacker to the "guy in the chair" for Clark. Along the way, she married Jimmy Olson (just not THAT Jimmy Olson), got him killed because Doomsday became obsessed with her, became Green Arrow's love interest. All of these things were done to keep Chloe Sullivan relevant. She outlasted Lana, Pete, Jonathan, Brainiac, and even Lex himself. And I have to ask myself why. Why was Chloe Sullivan, a made-up character to originally act as Lois Lane stand-in, allowed to go so long in the series? Because Allison Mack? TBH, she was a'ight, but not superlative. When they wrote Pete Ross off the show, which they totally did, they needed another confidante for Clark, a friend who knows Clark's secrets and can talk about them. Enter Chloe Sullivan, the third spoke of the Clana love triangle. My word, did they milk that situation for all the angsty drama they could. And since being Clark's sounding board didn't give her much to do, they gave her trama induced superpowers. And that led to everything else. When Lois chose Clark over Olliver Queen (Green Arrow) and the show started focusing on dating more, they needed to give GA a love interest. After all, Oliver is a rich handsome guy. He deserves to "get the girl" too. Anyway, if they reboot in any form other than cartoon, Allison Mack needs to be a part of the project. I'm sure she's off of house arrest by now.

No reboot!! It should be a continuation. Pick it up right where Crisis ended with Clark and Lois going back into the house. Something has to occur in which he would need to somehow regain his abilities. Either that or their girls begin to develop abilities and he has to coach his children in what it means to have immense power.

The end of Smallville the tv series had Chloe have a family with Oliver Queen. The comics continued the story but Impulse died. Lee Thompson Young that played Cyborg did sadly pass away. Having his cybernetics on the inside was a smart move albeit cheaper

Chloe is one of my favorite characters so I would definitely expect them to try to get her back. She was there from season one all the way through season 10 and my personal opinion I think it should be live action and it should be a continuation and not a reboot.

While ANY progression for Smallville, animated or live aciton, would be a welcomed treat... I think the BEST scenario would be between a pair of films or a full on trilogy of films... and considering the cost of visual effects dropping by the day, and the ease of access to them by even the most basic RU-vidrs, they could do it for reasonably cheap compared to the IMMENSE $250Million Budget blockbusters... and considering none of the actors, outside of maybe Alan Ritchson haven't really blown up in celebrity status since Smallville ended, they could probably round them up for reasonable pay, shoot it all very quickly, and spend the vast majority of the time afterward on post production and visual effects... Would be cool to see the films take place in "Current Day" so 16yrs after the show ended, and there could be flashbacks to the characters when they were younger using body doubles and deepfakes, which should be rather easy to accomplish considering there's 10 seasons of footage of all those actors in their youth. Maybe introduce Smallville universe's Braniac into the films and him being so powerful that it forces Clark and Lex to become temporary allies once again, harkening back to the close friendship they shared back in the Smallville days. Call the films "Metropolis", as a continued play on city names like "Smallville" did. And if it's successful, they could even branch out and do other "Smallvilleverse" stories with other famous cities in DC... a miniseries or film called "Gotham", another one called "Star City" another one called "Central City", another one called "Themesyra", another one called "Oa", another one called "Atlantis"... etc, and eventually if they all keep up the momentum, they could do a full on "Avengers" type team up mini-series or film where they all team up, Batman, Superman, Aquaman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Arrow... etc and they all have to fight Smallville-verse's Darkseid ala Justice League: War's storyline... Just a couple cool ideas, but I could do this all day lol

Well marvel wants nothing to do with Kang actor because of alleged domestic violence, johnny depp is not in pirates anymore because of shit with amber, and he was not guilty. As a super Smallville fan, I would absolutely watch this, maybe even continue the Arrowverse in animated form as well, they could bring back Oliver, maybe even retcon Crisis on Infinite Earth and make a crossover between Smallvillle, the Arrowverse and previous old live action DC series

My initial reactions to the first season Smallville was touch and go. I was taken aback by the severity of the meteor shower which was NOT something done in the comic books to date. I did like Clark and Lex meeting early on. I didn't like the kyrptonite-mutant-of-the-week approach of the first season. I did like the speed effects. Eventually the show grew on me. I wish they had more of a path set in stone before they started, not only Kal-El's history but the DC Universe in general. I mean Clark had the waking-up-floating-above-his-bed scene early on, but then they surpressed it. I wonder how a continuation series would fit with the outcome depicted in the Flash series Crisis on Infinite Earths which depicts a Lois ans Clark living on the Kent farm powerless with two unseen daughters. Would this be an Alternate Smallville World, or a total reboot. I really hope they don't try and reboot Smallville from the beginning. I doubt they could catch lightning in the bottle again...

I think they will wait until superman movie releases to see how it performs before making any decision for else where stuff. I am wishing that the movie sucks/flops when it releases just because they dropped the best Superman aka Henry Cavil and went with his look like who will never top Henry as far as looking part goes as Superman. We had the best live action Superman actor and he just needed a better script/story and he would've been golden but they did him dirty. Love the Smallville though and i hope they green lit the animated series/sequel soon, best live action superman series ever, Tom was my favorite live action Superman before Henry entered the picture. Really looking forward for it.

Xmen and smallville basically started the whole modern superhero craze and id love to see a metropolis live action show ignoring the events of the flash crossover event. I'd love to see a middle aged lois clark and lex i guess clark would be like 37 or 38 and lois a year older than that.

I'm very skeptical about this Smallville animated series. It seems to be spearheaded by Rosenbaum who isn't a Superman fan and doesn't have the best ideas. Apparently, Gough and Millar would be involved, but I'm not sure how much. I would only be interested if Tom voices Superman, not still just Clark Kent. Going backward to the old format would not work in today's superhero climate. We're past those days and its bad writing to reverse the journey that Clark went on. That Crisis cameo was absolutely awful and not canon for this reason because it completely went against Clark's arc. I also loved the Season 11 comics and consider them canon. So if this contradicts those at all, I won't consider this canonical.
