Not all of my lights are smart lights, so I still use mechanical timers in some aquariums. I hate them, they are so outdated, hard to set and after a while they are too loud and they break down in about 1 year. I tried a lot of timers, but now I have found a digital alternative. Actually it costs 4 or 5 times more, but it can make your life more easier. With this device, you can control and schedule a normal (not smart) light via wifi so this plug makes the light smart. It is possible to control the CO2 valve, actually you can control everything with this smart plug.

OK... 2 CO2 canisters and 7 light fixtures in one room = 9 mechanical timers. YES that sound is familiar to me. P.S. I have one digital timer in the bedroom, it's silent :) That smart plug looks awesome. And of course a great video as always!!

I run the US versions of these, truly game changing. They make some that double each outlet with integrated timers in both. Great for light and C02 controlled through one outlet and one app.

Lol just a little bit late to the game on these man. They've long been out here in the US. Got my lights & my CO2 hooked up to them & set on specific timers. They're awesome, user friendly & their applications are endless.

You can buy full smart power extension which works via Tuya app. You will have 4x power sockets, each one can be set up manually to power on or off at any time plus 3xUSB to poser light in the stand if you want...price approx 23eur from china. I have 4x of them at home and will not go back to the big bulky stupid time clock.

Cheers Molnár! I have the slightly older equivalent with a little remote control. No scheduling obviously so this looks like a great upgrade! Sadly doesn’t work with a couple of lamps I have that have ramp-up/down feature built in. They can obviously be switched off by cutting power externally but don’t come back on when power is restored. Got to press inline switch on lamp again on those to wake them up. Meh. 😑😊

Smart! Literally. I have some budget lights with built-in timers which I love, but these smart plugs make any light a "smart" light... :)

I use a WiFi controlled power strip for each aquarium - so CO2, lights and filters are all controlled via WiFi using Google Home/Alexa. So no need to touch switches or the phone!

You can actually buy a module for twinstar lights in order to set a schedule and make it ramp up and down instead of completely on and off. Its about 20 bucks.

To everyone in the U.S.: If you aren't using these you're stuck in the 1900s. You can get 4 pack of them for 20-30 bucks off Amazon. Much cheaper than $10 per dial timer. Also it does all the things. Turns on and off with your phone, and you can set schedules and routines for each throughout the day.

I did something similar with my tanks using the Gosund Mini WiFi Outlets available on Amazon in the US - for under $6 USD/plug, the price is actually cheaper than most mechanical timers. I put both my lights and my pumps on the plugs so that I could easily turn off a pump when I'm doing tank maintenance so I don't have to dig out the plugs from behind the tanks (as per your example). I have my CO2 solenoid on these plugs as well. Yes, I liked them so much I ended up buying a second 4-pack so that I could have all of my equipment controllable from my phone. Pro tips: If you have power outtage on your house, and and it will only resume in like 2 hours later. Then you might make the schedule repeating for each hour to make sure Light is on/off in certain time. Just in case something go haywire. One of the aquascaper using high CO2 bps and somehow there is power outage and hence co2 been up for all night and didnt turn off resulting in fish and shrimp deaths. =(

When using a solenoid valve for CO2, it will be turned off when the power goes down so this is not really an issue.
