I love the hill climbs, my sherco 300 been upside down a lot , 10 Minutes + Sometimes it needed full throttle, but not always. That little check valve works good.

interesting review and perspectives and thx out of curiosity did you have any airlocks?

@@WADZUP Thanks for checking out the video. Yes I did have one, I mentioned it in the video. I fell topside down hill and took a while to right the bike. I had to bleed the carb as suggested in the installation process by Smartcarb.

i had the first generation smart carb and i went through several upgrades with it to get it to work right , it was awesome in the end on my 2012 ec300 , the only downside i had was if you forgot to turn the fuel tap off or it was on its side it would flood the engine .

It’s the best carb out there period I’ve tried them all. Running XTNG now because cheaper ran sc2 on 3 bikes total and it’s perfect

Certainly a good carb, no question. Better in some areas than the Keihin, but the Keihin is better in others. Neither are as good as a correctly calibrated EFI system for every day use 👍

I thought about buying a Smartcarb but honestly like you said it takes 5 mins to change a needle or main jet if I go up in altitude. I can get away with a lot with the one getting setup I have also. “F” needle in the winter and “G” in summer and if I go passed 3000’ I put the”H” needle in with a smaller main than a 165

Thanks for checking out the video. Definitely did like the simplicity of the SC2. It's a no brainier, out of the box solution for many people, and it operates like the say it does 'on the tin'. I especially like the no fuss mixture adjustment, it's a clever solution. 👍 In my own case here in Australia, and I'm a mechanic owner with a critical ear, I can make mixture changes as needed. Where we ride, I can run the same needle and jets year round and just tweak the mixture screw, and, our rides are less than a full tank so the main befits of the SC2 don't outweigh the cost here. Certainly worth considering.

I had one on my SE250 Factory. Best carby for running upside down 😂 Easy to setup; just plug'n'play. Fuel economy is better by about 30% over the stock setup.

Economy should only improve if the jetting is out on the original carb. The air/fuel ratio required to run at peak efficiency is the same whether it comes from the OEM carb, a replacement or an EFI system. If that can be set correctly, the usage will be equal.

I have had the smart carb2 on my 21 Sherco se300 for a couple years now and recently reinstalled the stock carb that has been re-jetted by the way and it ran really good almost seemed to have alittle more power over the SC. However my fuel consumption was reduced significantly were around 60miles I was having some anxiety. The SC I have gone 75miles with the same amount of fuel remaining. I am certain of this as many times I tested it using the odometer and gps same riding area etc. just saying thanks for videos

@@jackflynn9169 Yes, I mentioned it in the video that we were not able to confirm the fuel usage. I have just come back from a ride this afternoon and can say for sure that the Keihin is definitely the equal of the SC in all other respects. Economy is not a factor on our rides as it typically takes us about 4-5 hours to ride a loop that sometimes might only be 30km of hand cut single track. It's the low down torque and pulling power on hills that are important and the Keihin jetting well is better by a small margin on both. * A note here, your own SC might be improved with the latest needle released by the crew for their hard enduro racers. Thanks for checking out the video.

I would try out the noz i or j needle they are my favorites for the sherco after lots of testing. You will probably have to bump up your pilot 1 size. 40 should work good. 165 main is probably good for your location, but 162 might be better

Thanks for checking out the video. 👍 I'm very happy with the Sherco needle and jetting I've settled on. Having bolted the Keihin back on following the Smartcarb testing, I have actually got more bottom end power than the SC and I don't loose any of the top end of their set up either. I'll be trading the bike soon, just waiting to see if Sherco finally release them with EFI, before deciding on 2 or 4 stroke. If there's no EFI 2t, I'll be back on the SEF 👌

@Danger_mouse I am with you there... I will probably go on a austrian bike but I hope that the Sherco make big changes for the 25.

@@StefanJonsson1918 There is a whole new model change due to be announced anytime soon. I'll never buy an Austrian bike due to previous treatment when I had a Husqvarna. I'll stick with the family owned Shercos. Sherco might have an avenue open to them due to their smaller volume to get away with the carb still (like Beta have managed), However, I believe it would be a step backwards for the brand to do so. It may be that they release both an EFI and a carb version of the 2t (Like TM) depending on the market they're selling into & the local emission laws. If it ends up carb only, I'll happily take the new 300SEF engine in the all new bike. Both my previous SEFs were awesome to ride, a very underrated model (the best all-rounder in the range)

@Danger_mouse I really like the sherco brand, but it is hard not to like the new TBI models especially with the ERM module from tsp, being able to tune the power delivery like your on a carb bike but with the convenience of an Efi is very tempting. But I am hopeful that is what we get from Sherco aswell.

Hey mate, what's your top end jetting?
@Danger_mouse
@Danger_mouse 8 месяцев назад
Jetting I'm now running is the N8RG needle on clip one, 38 pilot and a 168 main. Tested again after removing the Smartcarb and they're both the same. 👌

Not sold on the value. Nice ride tho..

That's kind of what I was implying in the video, especially for Australian owners. $1300-$1500 Aud will buy a lot of Dyno time. 2/3 of that will buy a TSP head, ecu remap and jetting instructions. Thanks for checking out the video.

When i first got my 22' 300, a buddy had the same bike and just put on a SC. When i rode back to back I enjoyed both albeit my bike wasnt on final jetting. I pref the Kiehin , but I really would need to spend the whole day riding with one. That being aid fan of the Kiehin, easier to diagnose for my slow brain.@@Danger_mouse
