Excellent presentation. Very clear, concise, and to the point explanation that told me exactly what I wanted to know about the differences between mirroring and CarPlay and what the pros and cons are. I've watched many videos about this and this one is far and away the best one I've seen. Great job!
Very well presented video, clear narrator, and straight to the point. Well done, you have actually cleared a lot of my questions very quickly. Thank you.
I know this was done a couple of years ago. Looking for a new head unit for my 30YO MR2. This helped me work out what I need. Thank you for the easy to understand explanation for those of us that are not great at IT stuff.
I wish there was a kit for the 2008 GS450H…. All I want is to be able to play music from my iPhone to my factory Mark Levinson stereo but I can’t connect my phone so I’m stuck with FM, CD or Cassette Tape 😂
Wondering, are the connections all the same or, for a Lexus car with Mark Levinson audio, would there be an audio benefit going in one direction or another? Thx for any help
@@BeatSonicUS Thx for the response and sorry my question wasn't clear. My question was really whether android auto or phone mirroring would be better quality for audio reproduction? Car is 2021 LX570 with Levinson
@@pconyc with our new kit, android auto routes all audio to the cars Bluetooth so your sound will be identical to your current Bluetooth. You may plug your phone directly to the car usb for a even better sound. Phone mirroring audio sounds a little better than Bluetooth. Please let me know if you have any additional questions
Can you have both the CarPlay and the mirroring function installed? I’ve purchased your CarPlay modem and installed it on my 2016 Lexus NX 200t w/o navigation and would like to also have the smartphone mirroring function.
So, if you already have Android Auto, and you want to get a mirroring kit, you have to give up Android Auto? Or is that only when utilizing the mirroring kit????
Well done with this video . You are a natural at explaining this in a way I fully understood. Really liked the end where you list the pros and cons. Its Android Auto for me as Maps are more important than playing videos :) Thank you again
We are upgrading the radio in our 2002 Lexus SC430 next week. I have purchased the beat sonic MVA-12L adapter. We are putting in a Kenwood DMX908S head unit and a backup cam. I’m considering using the OEM nav screen for backup cam but not sure about image quality on old screen. Can backup cam connect to both screens or toggle between screens using mode control on steering wheel? Thanks
Connecting the backup camera to the factory screen is not ideal as the camera won’t show when you engage the reverse gear. In order to view the video on the top screen, you will have to press the mode button while you engage your parking brake or you need to bypass the video in motion by grounding the parking wire connected to the top screen. As such we recommend that you connect the backup camera to the new radio instead
Thank you for your consistent developments for us entune users! Quick question, for mirroring on toyota tacoma stereos, does the splitscreen work, or when mirroring does it always take up the full screen?
With the car play. If I get one of those wireless Carlink kit adapters will the car play still work wirelessly? Also does the CarPlay work with iPhone 12 Pro
I have a 2014 Silverado no android auto and I don't like AA anyway. so I've been trying to find a way to mirror my screen but can't find a solution do you have any recommendations?
That’s correct, it will still be split screen on the 2015 LS models as the screen hardware is actually two screens. To achieve full screen display, you will need to swap to a 2016+ screen and radio
Helped me decide if a Sony XAV 3500 without Android Auto/Carplay but with Weblink Cast was suitable for my use in 02 E46 330Ci. Can you please confirm if Audio is transferred at full quality via such a link please ?
hi guys, you know if the 2018 Lexus IS 300H is the same in all countries? I have 1 in South America and i am planning to install this, should this function without any problem? thx
Thanks! Unfortunately carplay kit not compatible with highlander with birds eye view camera option. However this smartphone mirroring kit is compatible
Hello.. I have prius 2016... And i want my phone screen to be on the car screen.. (i have android) so please tell me how... Send the link.. By the way which one do think is better wired or wireless.. For me i prefer wireless... If there is wireless ship please mention that also with a link.. Thank you
Is it possible to connect the mirroring kit with an aftermarket screen? Example: One phone cable for apple carplay etc, then disconnect and use another phone cable when you want to watch video? I know a lot of the screens come with 2 usb ports...
We have temporarily suspended installation services. However one of our partner shops are still installing. Please contact them at www.airrunnersystems.com
@@BeatSonicUS Is there any plans to add Apple Carplay? I am curious because I bought a Grom Audio VL2 and have not installed it yet, but have heard there are lots of issues.
Just installed mirror like today (was a bit pricey but worth it tho). I use both iOS and android phones but I decided to install it with android. iPhones no longer have landscape mode and my note 8 dose. I would prefer to use my iPhone because I think it give a better audio experience but the android landscape mode looks a lot better on the radio screen. Two Thumbs up 👍🏽 👍🏽.
If you can currently stream videos to the rear entertainment system in factory form, it will also work while using carplay as it won’t alter any factory functions
Usually I stream from my iphone, but I wonder, If the carplay is connected do I have to stream the videos to the rear entertainment system through a separate device?
I have an mg rx5 and i only have apple carplay on my screen but my phone is android and i want to be able to use my phone..any idea how can i do that. And i was informed that carlinkit dongle will not work!!! Plz help i dont want to replace my original headunit

I need a bit of help. I upgraded my head unit to pioneer avh a315bt. Based on the specs, it does not support android auto or apple car play, it doesn't have an android OS but it has a mirror link support. But i'm looking for a dongle or ai box that will connect through usb to convert my non android head unit into a android OS via usb with mirror link without using a phone and has the ability for android auto or apple carplay using that ai box or dongle something using my non android head unit as a touchscreen monitor. Is there an item like that? Hope someone will answer this.
