Remember kids, Screen protectors are like helmets. They're supposed to absorb the shock & break on impact. If they don't, then it's likely the thing they're supposed to protect will break.
and yet whenever ive seen someone screen protector break, the screen underneath broke aswell, never seen that a screen protector breaks but the screen underneath doesnt tbf xD
@@PatoChu Yes, but if they are supposed to break to protect the screen, yet when it does break the screen underneath breaks aswell, whats the point in it breaking in the first place?
@@haxkztasyYou clearly have no intellect. The point is to reduce the amount of damage the phone takes. Protect doesn’t mean make invincible. It means to reduce the amount of damage taken. Body armor doesn’t completely eliminate the risk of injury it just lowers it. And it can’t protect you from anything. If you get hit with a rpg while wearing body armor and you die does that mean it doesn’t work? No, it just can’t protect you from everything. A screen protecter can protect your phone from a 3ft fall but not a 10ft fall. It’s better than your phone breaking from a 3ft fall without a screen protecter.
I'm pretty sure that tempered glass is meant to absorb and release impact, which is why it breaks. A screen protector that doesn't break can't release the energy of the impact and so it travels through the phone instead, which will mean the impact will damage the phone instead, likely breaking the screen under the protector.
Exactly. Also why a good helmet will shatter with enough force. A helmet that doesn’t break (unless it’s made or something that lessens impact force like Kevlar) is pretty much deadly and useless for safety.
yeah i had like 4 screen protectors on my iphone, all shattered when i was drunk. not one crack or scratch on the screen itself, all impact on the protectors
That applies to the phonecase and helmets, not to the screen protector. Get a phone case that's a little bit higher than the screen, so if it falls to the ground screen flatted, it will hit the phone case
Fr, i remember a friend of mine who has thick ass tempered glass, when she dropped her phone we're confuse as to why the actual screen inside was cracked while the tempered glass was fine lol
Completely clueless and delusional Clowns in the comments section comparing helmets to a screen protector using pseudoscientific bs like release of energy is what is wrong with this world...and it is known as dissipation of energy not release of energy. High quality Screen protectors have saved my phones countless times as I am prone to drop my phone on a regular basis... The only thing people should be worried about is when the screen protector is not as flexible as the one shown in this short.. It is that flexibility that plays the most important part in dissipation of energy saving your mobile screens in the process..
@@miksol320even Siemens with antenna... After 15 years it got freezing every SMS sending... And you actually must smack with him hard to the ground, to unfreeze it and send it... 😂😂😂
Literally. It's like those videos of indestructible bike helmets. Yeah, you're helmet might be strong af, but all that force will just get transferred to your head and you'll crack like a nut. Same thing with this phone case.
@@berendberend702literally the reason for tempered glass screen protectors. they crack so your phone doesn't have to unless it's a very hard or pointed impact
Sorry, but the ones you broke are designed to break instead of your screen. If the protection is unbreakable, then all that force goes into your screen and shatters. That's why you didn't test it while on the phone and why you took it off it.
@@TheCofeCafe is it the same logic as with helmets? If the screen protector is too durable then the impact from a hit or dropping a phone will transfer to the display rather than be absorbed by the screen protector?
@@TheCofeCafeThere are zero 0.1 inch piece of glass has the dimensionality or capability to absorb any shock when it breaks. The main thing a screen protector does is to protect from scratches. It's 15x the normal price for a good reason. It's not a helmet.
dam I want to share a story where this was true, even with a cheap protector at christmas like 2 years ago, we were hanging decorations where my sister dropped something on my dads phone. The phone had a protector, it had a camera protector, it had a case, but it missed all of that and stabbed through the mic Also stopping immature kids from saying "500likes and no replies uwu uwu"
The thing is screen protectors are meant to crack when impacted. If your phone fell, your phone will absorb the impact instead of your screen protector, making it useless...
The thing is, screen protectors are meant to break easily so that they absorb the impact of the drop, but if it doesn't break easily, it just distributes the impact which will mean that your screen is over. Edit: All the scientists are having an argument in the reply section 😭
The screen is supposed to break, thats what absorbs the impact and protects your screen. The one that didnt break wouldnt protect your phone, the energy would just pass theough and go to your screen. Just like cars are designed to break and fold in certain areas to protect the driver, a good screen protector should break under that force.
@@RU-vidFamous Exactly. You could make a steel helmet that would be way stronger and never break, but it wouldn't protect your head at all. This screen protector he is advertising is basically like wearing a steel helmet while riding a motorcycle.
Cool but you might have not understood that the good screen protectors gotta break to protect the screen or the screen will take the shock and will break. when a good screen protector breaks it absorbs the shock which prevents the screen from taking the shock. Also the drill was dull.
I ironically bought these for my S23 Ultra, would recommend tbh. Plastic protectors are nice and somewhat self healing but you have to get use to the plastic feeling.
People used to have more serious injuries when getting into car crashes due to them being built like a solid piece of metal, now that they added crumple zones, the car gets more damaged but at least the passenger suffers less. Point is that protective items usually require to be able to break easily so that the item being protected gets less damage
If you watched the whole vid, he actually did hit harder on the advertised product. I was gonna call out turboflex initially too, but it wasn't the case.
Just a friendly reminder, the shattering of your screen protector is a good thing. You want the protector to break at lower loads than the actual screen so that it can absorb hard shocks instead of having it be fine on top while having a shattered screen beneath
Actually according to the physics one that breaks easily absorbs damage to the screen and takes all to itself and one that doesn't crack easily transfers damage to the screen! "Keep in mind!"
Look at you, if you used the 6 dollar version and drilled it, the phone and the screen protector would break easily. If you used the real screen protector like this guy did, he just showed a proof even if you try to drill through it it doesn’t budge and the phone doesn’t get damaged. And also that only works on those round things. This ain’t haki from wano
If you are referring to the helmet then yes. But this is significantly different. Most of the reason phone screen crack is you drop it and something tiny or sharp is on the floor so the impact of tiny and sharp object give alot of pressure in shot span of time. This cause the screen to break. In this case you want to screen protector to be durable. Similar thing but not the same thing😅
@@wolfslayer4473 because it is different case like i told you. Its like saying if i take medication for fever why dont it work to knee injury. In helmet situation the force that is killing you is the force of the impact. In phone most of the case the force that is breaking the screen is the tiny particles on the floor or basically the oressure acting on the screen in small space similar to knife stab. Dont assume one thing work on one thing and other wont.
It's supposed to break to absorb the shock instead of ur screen, this is like using a ceramic screen protector, the absorbtion it has is very minimal, in case somthing like this falls, chances are your inner screen will shatter if it falls instead of your screen protector or even ur outer glass screen.
@@mjcox242 the helmet is different than this, screen protects should bend, helmets should crumble. even though it doesnt crubmle, it will still absorb the force.
Yeah this screen protector would be pretty shit at protecting your screen, but with a good case that’s not too big of an issue, and it seems like it’s other QoL features would be the main selling point.
See the thing about "screen protectors" is that they're supposed to take the damage. Having this screen protector will just keep the screen protector safe but your phone still absorbs the damage instead.
That's the plastic layer not the screen protector. Look closely he pulled that off after applying screen protector. That plastic layers is just so that during applying and pressing that plastic you don't scratch the actual protector
Isn't that just the front camera? I don't use crapple products so I'm simply asking not stating. But if u pause it during the water droplets demonstration, it's looks like it's just a camera..total guess though.
@@James-cj5hi that’s why I say at least one instead of 2 cuz I’m not 100% sure I don’t wanna be spewing random shit😂 but I’m pretty damn sure one of those things on the top was a bubble
Metal usually dont make scratches, but sand and dust or jewellery do. Its about hardness of material and phone screens often have 5-6 level on hardness scale. Sand and dust contains silicon that have 7 level and can make shallow but still a scratches. Also screens now pretty durable so I simply use mate protective film for 1-2$ to avoid any scratches and for little impact protection
To everyone wondering, His screen protector is the same durability as the others, He doesnt follow through hitting the statue and when he does he lets it bend upwards, The bending thing you can do with any screen protector
No it is probably more durable than your standard screen protector however screen protectors are supposed to shatter to divert the force away from your phone upon impact so if the phone protector is incredibly durable and doesnt shatter upon impact your phones insides would very likely be damaged
@@crossedout_wizzkill1015 they divert force away from your screen and in a 1-1 ratio they just need to be weaker than your screen to do that, Thats where that little adhesive comes into play, Now tempered glass does actually offer better drop protection than a normal screen protector however tempered glass cant bend like his does, I've actually bought laminated glass screen protectors and they bend just like his does Further more watch when he hits the statue with his and the others every other one has a tighter grip cover a larger area meaning it cant bend and breaks easier, he grabs the corner of his and lightly taps it on the statue, there is no follow through and his actually kicks back up allowing the shock to become a bounce back rather than pure absorption when he jump hits it his screen protector twists in his hands proving he isnt actually gripping it making it bounce back
no bc i was expecting him to barely touch the second protector but i was genuinely surprised at its durability. glad this is a real show of strength rather than lightly tapping it with a hammer
This phone case is dependent on the damage you usually take in your phone. If you usually scratch it. This is for you. If you normally drop it. Then it’s not. The first cases absorb the impact so your screen doesn’t. Their one doesn’t absorb it but transfers it through breaking your phone itself not the screen protector. It’s just like the helmets that apparently break your falls well. They really just break your skull.
This also applies to hydrogel. But that one is more of a "are you prone to forget/use your phone under direct sunlight or high temp? Then use hydrogel"
