Hi there - you produce great videos and I get some really good ideas from you - thanks so much for making the time and effort for our benefit! YOU might be interested in an alternative solution I came up with for looking up the month. The formula is much smaller than the one you show here. I created a global lookup sheet that just has the Month in primary column on rows 1-12. I then create a lookup formula in the column next to the date where I want to show the month and use the following formula =INDEX({Dates Month}, MONTH(Date@row)). This way I only have to type in the months one time and I can use the same formula in multiple sheets. Oh and if you just want the first 3 letters of the month =LEFT(INDEX({DATE SHEET Month}, MONTH(Date@row)), 3) does the job
Thank you for the lovely feedback and suggestion! Yes, I use INDEX/MATCH lots like you say, it’s fantastic to have a look-up sheet. For the sake of this demo I wanted to keep everything in one sheet, hence these formulas. One additional formula I came across after for quarters is also great: "Q" + ROUNDUP((MONTH([End Date]@row) / 4)) + " " + YEAR([End Date]@row)
