This is one of the best smash 4 sets, despite what has come out about these players. Like it or not their rivalry is what made smash 4 exciting and kept me interested. I come back to watch this and the other zero vs ally sets of the era every once in a while.
Honestly, ZeRo started looking a bit shaken up here. In the second to last game, as soon as he started crawling I just went "oh ZeRo, please don't do a down tilt." He did, Ally shielded it, and killed him. He started doing some desperate Monkey Flips, he missed techs that he normally wouldn't miss... it was still obviously better play than 99.9% of the planet can pull off, but it didn't look fully like ZeRo by the end of it. Still a great Grand Finals overall though, and congrats to Ally!
His diddy didn't look the same, that's for sure. He was clearly lacking confidence during this whole grand finals. Seems like he was playing a bit scared. Hopefully zero can get his swagger back, I'm rooting for him in the big tournies coming up in the next couple months.
Edgar le thug Yep, EVO was a great showing and the only reason he didn't take it was because his competition was playing just as great. It's looking like ZeRo is coming back!
Oh man, that set made my dick explode. I really want to see Zero take tournaments again, but the same time it's great seeing top players get on his level and even pass it. Congrats again Ally 👏👏👏
SPOILERS!! DON'T READ UNTIL YOU SEE THE 2ND SET BECAUSE TRUST ME, IT'S WORTH IT! I can't believe I got to see this live, and it was my first national!! My pool was the same time as Zero's and all I remember hearing was how someone only got 12% on one of his stocks. A ton of people were watching his matches and a few were updating on how many hits his opponents could get on him. Yeah Ally won the 1st set, but it seemed like he was just seeing which character he felt the most comfortable with. Zero was playing really well throughout the whole tournament, but that match in the sudden death match definitely changed how the venue felt. Congrats Ally!
I think everyone can see that Diddy is his best character, but I don't think everyone sees ZeRo's situation. ZeRo built himself on Shiek, and I think it's hard for him to realize that she's not going to be his best anymore after the nerfs, no matter how hard he practices. It's probably hard to let something like that go. Still, props to Ally for taking a tourney from the best in the world...and YES, ZeRo is STILL the best in the world. The fact that he can still play like THIS even after months without practice and recovery from his injury is astounding. Other people are getting better, but it's only gonna get better for ZeRo from here too.
Well he built himself on diddy for like more than half a year first. He switched to sheik when diddy was nerfed. He should have no problem adjusting back to diddy.
Still don't see why ZeRo uses his characters like crutchea though. Every other player is consistent with their character through nerfs and all, but he can't. lol
Void and Mr R managed through the sheik nerfs, and I'd say they have surpassed zero in sheik play. Zero just runs away from characters when they become inconvenienced, while most other players stick with their mains.
I think he should have sticked to diddy during both sets. He is going to still losing until he picks a definite character. It's better to be extremely good in one thing than spread and be good with some.
I'm really glad other players are stepping up there skill and finally giving Zero a run for his money. It seemed like for a long time it was Zero far above everyone with no chance of catching up, but now there are plenty of players on par with Zero's skills. I do think Zero is a bit rusty, but it's pretty clear a lot of other people have just gotten better with time. That said, it's adorable reading comments from people pretending Zero is bad at the game and was never good or things like that. You silly bitches.
Zero not the best Sheik anymore he relied to much on 50/50 Kills, now the best are without a doubt Mr. R & Void since they are more creative in their kill setups and combos.
Watching the double KO again, their deaths looked to have happened at the same time down to the frame as the crash effects from the edges of the screen are synced up. Crazy stuff.
Zero has developed the community more than ken could ever hope to, and keep in mind zero is months out, he's rusty and his main was nerfed pretty hard his #1 spot is still solid as long as he just doesn't lose the motivation
I like how you ignored his pervious 52 tourney wins in a row by saying ''I come in second at tournaments... a lot actually''I'm not convinced hes a worse player until his finger 100% heals nad hes back in top shape
+cumboy Rust only lasts for so long. I believe you're right about people just getting better than zero. The johns coming from his fans are way too strong lol
I think ZeRo's losses as of late, are a combination of circumstances. His injury definitly did not help. One of his mains got nerfed badly (again), so sheik is pretty much his secondary now. On top of that.. the meta is evolving. People around ZeRo are getting better and catching up to his level. I think a big part of ZeRo's succes was the fact that he was just sooo far ahead of everyone else after Smash 4's release. He's gonna have to work harder to win, and it's only gonna get worse for him if he doesn't. In Melee, a lot of the top players had their reign where no one could keep up. But as time went by, the gap closed. It happened to Mew2King too. And before that Ken dominated. Both eventually lost their dominance as other players started to catch up, and develop strategies to beat them.
At a moment of the video I just wanted to mute the video. It's really annoying how biased the commentators are :l (Zero get hit) Commentators: Ally is amazing. (Ally get hit) Commentators: Oh no....
But you have to understand, it was old news at that time that Zero could win. It was interesting to see someone else able to beat zero. This is why the commentators are more excited when Ally does something amazing, because its expected of Zero. If you see their match at genesis 4, it seems that the commentators were more biased for Zero, as they are probably tired of Ally always winning against him and want to see Zero come out on top again.
Grant the Dragon you might be one of the biggest ally fans I have ever seen man, on ZSM's video you literally are complaining that ally shouldn't have a video of him getting bodied. This whole comment section you're just making up things like zero running away from characters when they become "inconvenienced." Lighten up man.
Bob Smith yeah, im an ally fan. But I also support zero. Where did I make that comment about his characters being inconvenienced? I don't see it in this thread. And for zsm's video, even the person who made it agreed in the comment section that the video didn't work.
Bob Smith never mind, I found it. Well it is kind of true. Ever since the sheik nerfs zero stopped maiming sheik. But I guess he deserves some credit sticking with diddy after his nerfs. And now he's trying out Lucina. That will be very interesting.
"I wish we could go back frame by frame to see who might've touched the blast zone first." Sudden death only happens like that if they both touch the blastzone at the same frame.
ZeRo's been wiffing so many Sheik F-Airs. Could the hitbox nerf be the reason he feels like he lost touch with Sheik? I think it oughta impact his feel of the neutral.
Sheik's f-air got a hitbox nerf where the angle was changed(hits more in a downward angle around her knees, making it possible for her to actually hit people more below herself) but now I see it may have had a range reduction(it seemingly used to have more horizontal range than even Marth's f-air) because ZeRo's reads and offstage chases were on point but those killing f-airs would miss by a hair's breadth. I actually feel bad for him at this point because it seems like he's almost lost his main.
+Stocke it's a pretty underrated change. It's easier to trade with because of the defensive hitbox shift, and Sheik is not a character who trades well.
Mario is easily the best character. He just has all the tools. Combo off down throw and up throw, 50/50 Down throw to fair, cape that reflects, all of his aerials are so solid, and let's not forget up smash.
When someone loses learns that need improvement and Ally was defeated earlier by ZeRo on many occasions and I think those losses helped him improve, even if ZeRo has lost his injury or not, I guess it's not to win always there will also be occasions in which opponents defeated now vanquish the until then ... Congratulations Ally
i think i just hate how people rush to defend zero so quickly and disregard ally's victory. We all know zero is a good player you dont have to defend him his skills do that for him but that shouldnt take away from ally doing well against him twice now. Recovering from injury is not an excuse when you have already gone through the recovery stage and have trained afterwards and have begun to regain your strength. Like in my sport powerlifting if you get injured you get injured you dont make excuses afterwards you just get straight back to training and most likely you will be weak af initially but you quickly regain your former strength. I think both players did a great job and congratulations to Ally. Losing doesnt make zero any less of the awesome player he is
+Pickled Gremlin well he should not say Americans... Americans = people from America America. America = North South and Central America including the Caribbean so... Get it right
I think Mario has become ZeRo's kryptonite. Remember, he also lost to ANTi before losing to Ally for the second time. That being said though, it might be Ally's time to shine.
> Bowser is enemies with Mario > ZeRo is enemies with Mario > Bowser is fat > ZeRo is fat > Bowser is a loser > ZeRo is a loser > Bowser is an egotistical narcissist > ZeRo is an egotistical narcissist > Bowser holds attractive women captive > ZeRo holds attractive women captive > ZeRo is Bowser confirmed
Totally agree. I think what makes him really good is his spacing because when you look at it, his combos are not that impressive. And for you, other mario mains, what is Ally's best weapon ?
I agree with the mind games. He has this ability to see any way that the opponent uses to approach him and gets a punish of resets the neutral with down b. For the grabs, he has good combos, but he can't get a stock easily for back throw is too easy to DI. However, this is a mario problem, not Ally's. This kind of videos are the best tutorials don't you think ?
honestly, zero has been doing really bad for his potential lately... not sure if it's lack of practice because of his finger issue but definitely not the zero that he used to be. not saying ally is not good, ally is incredibly good, but just saying zero could've done waaay more.
He's only really losing to Ally out of all top players though. Maybe Ally has taken an edge over everyone else and caught up to Zero, or maybe it's the Mario MU.
the "god' status is for players so good they can only lose to each other and thus smash 4 doesn't have them yet and in that case patching the game has hurt it
