Seriously though, even if you remember it was her birthday I think it’s completely normal to not remember how old she was turning. Not everyone remembers those sorts of details. I just remember glowing hair, the frying pan and horse, and the poster with the nose looking weird, and something to do with a flower and lanterns. I remember liking the movie, but it’s just been so many years that I don’t really remember a lot of the details. I think both you and Big Man are being a little uncharitable to each other lol.

It's actually untrue that people had shorter lifespans. The "average" is misleading because it's skewed by infant mortality rates, which is why people had so many kids. If someone lived past childhood there was a high likelihood they'd have a normal lifespan.

You realise the princesses are royalty and most royalty get married in their teens, and start being arranged for marriage not long after they'd hit puberty. A lot of times beforehand. Plus, Disney Princess movies were created in like the 60s, when young marriage wasn't uncommon. The movies are also generally based in the years where pedophilia and such didn't exist, that's only been around for like what 150 years? Give or take. And they're stories, for kids, either way. If you're worried about your kids thinking that's good or normal these days, teach them that they're just movies. Stories. Not to be taken literally.

Actually in the middle ages women married for the first time at an average age of around 24, the only time they did so as teens was nobility in times of upheaval to cement alliances and even then it was rare for them to sleep together until she was older
