I'm so sorry to hear that man. My grandpa passed just a couple of weeks ago, so I definitely relate. Keep your head up, and always, keep going strong man.
>^v> took me awhile to get as well. It’s best for fairly high percents because the second swing will actually miss (intentionally) so you keep them closer to you. DB3Down is key though.
Oh my goodness I’ve been waiting for this i cannot wait to watch it thanks so much jtails and I really hope you’re doing well but I’m also glad you’re uploading just don’t push yourself too much
I found your channel about 2 months ago as I am new to smash and your videos have helped my skill level tremendously. You’re really good at making content. Thank you so much man. I’m sorry to hear about your loss. You’re very underrated and deserve a lot more views and subs. Keep grinding out the good content and tutorials. 🐐🐐🐐
Sorry to hear that, Jtails. My grandmother also passed away last month, on her 84th birthday in fact. It definitely can affect you longer than you think, and grief has a habit of sneaking up just when you think you've moved on, so I think it's great that you're comfortable sharing this with us. Personally, I'm finding it useful to keep her memory alive by telling stories about her, and reminiscing on all the fond memories, rather than to close that chapter of my life entirely.
I realize this video is from 2 years ago and I hope you have moved past this unfortunate event, but still I commend you for your strength in moving past it. That said, thank you this video was easy to follow and youv'e helped me greatly as an aspiring lucina main
Sorry for your loss. Losing a loved one is always difficult. Love the videos and love the channel! You are an important part of the smash community. Thank you for all your effort!
Excellent tutorial, lucina is a great all around fundamental proof character. Learning her is a good springboard for doing generally well with any character that relies on spacing and bait and punish style gameplay.
For jab lock: jab -> side b 1 -> up tilt always works and is my go at low to mid and then jab -> fsmash at kill percent Jab -> full dancing blade also works if ur just trying to rack up some damage but up tilt is better most of the time positioning and follow up wise
Another amazing video Jtails..keep the amazing content coming man we all love it and appreciate it so much..So sorry for your loss of you grandmother, we're all here for you man whatever u need honestly just know u have an army behind you, we support you in whatever you do
Been watching you since smash 4 days back in early 2015. You’re one of my favorite smash content creators. Hope you feel better soon, and i’m sorry for you loss.
Sorry for your loss man I know how it feels I lost my dad when I was 9. No need to rush any videos just remember we will support you whatever your decisions
You're an amazing person. Thank you so much for your personality and skill. I truly understand how you feel and just know that you are cared about by many! Thank you again for everything that you do and I will always continue to support your content!
Hey Jtails, don't want to loose too many words but I just wanted to tell you, that we, your fans, always have your back and will always support you, because you are a wonderful human being that should always recieve the best the world has to give!
Welcome back man! You have my condolences, and I hope that you're doing well. Thank you for thinking about us fans, and for making this video. You 're the best!
Sorry for your loss Jtails. I've always enjoyed your guides, both in Smash 4 and this game, so I just wanted to comment saying everything you do is really appreciated. Take it easy and hope you'll be okay. :)
really cool guide, i'm maining Lucina for about 3 weeks now, and i'm glad i'm doing most of it already. I'm aware of the falling uair but actually barely used it. i'll try use it more in a way thats not too predictable at least. The dair > sb stuff looks neat too. For jab locks, i always use jab1 > fsmash, and i hit like 95% of the time. db1 seems to have more range but higher lag so i'm actually scared to use it instead. Jab1 is working perfectly fine for me. also almost all jab locks i get with her is after a falling fair instead dtilt. Lucina feels like the new Cloud but can go offstage, has better recovery and a better fsmash lol.
Hey man I understand my Grandfather passed away not that long ago, and I just want to say you don’t have to feel like rushing into anything. You can take as long as you want RU-vid and the community will always be here. Thoughts and prays 🙏🏽
I'm sorry for your loss, I hope the pain eases soon. Thank you for this tutorial though!! I have a small tourney at my college with some friends and as a Lucina main I figured this would be helpful!!
Be strong! My grandma passed away that same week Wednesday. What's important is not mourning their absence but celebrating their life and the legacy they've left behind. Great guide Btw welcome back to the grind!
I just started watched the video and felt I should pause and comment first. Sending love to you man, I'm glad you're moving forward. Thanks for your all your hard work ❤️
I subbed just a couple days ago, and I didn’t except this as the first vid to be watching after my sub. But I wish you the best of luck in the future and R.I.P for your grandmother 😓
Thanks for the video! I'm new to competitive Smash, so this guide taught me a few things! I'm pretty proud that a few of these things I figured out on my own, too!
Hey @Jtails sorry to hear about your family. I know when it rains it usually pours..you'll feel better in time. Meanwhile it's great to have you back man! I love your approach to teaching with smash. I'm personally still honing in on a main. Would be curious what your thoughts on Yoshi are? Or if you'd do a tutorial? Best of luck bro!
@@JonahDeroy Thanks man. I have been trying to get my Yoshi game going, and watched bananaboyssb vids. I do okay but inconsistent. Like I'll beat 2million+ gsp players and lose to 100k players. I get better results with Bowser online, but I don't feel like I'm better with him. I was a Kirby main in 64, falco in melee, Diddy in brawl (wasnt too good at brawl tho), and Kirby/eventually corrin in smash 4. I just need someone to pick for me because I'm driving myself crazy lol
Hope youre doing well. This same situation happened to me last year, and I know its hard. If you need to take a break for another week or two, feel free. You deserve it
My condolences to you and yours for your loss. Great vid, I've been maining Lucina a lot more lately, and finding her to be a lot of fun to play. I can't sweet-spot her dair spike for the life of me off-stage, though, and sour-spotting it can even push a foe upwards toward the stage, which is super annoying. Another annoyance is that her jab won't hit smaller fighters when going for that jab-lock, but I guess I should go for a side-b instead. But yeah, great advice. Thanks for the stuff you do!
Glad you're starting to feel better. Take all the time you need. Recently my last grandmother (last grandparent) passed away, and it has affected me more than I thought for a few reasons. It's scary to think the next ones to pass (if from old age) will be my parents and my wife's parents. Makes you think a bit more about life and what you said... life is short, so enjoy it. I will never complain about someone taking a break from making videos... remember everyone... this content is free.
Im a rob main and have been looking for another character to main. This tutorial definitely helped me main her. And now i can change it up with my friends who've learned to exploit my rob
I hope you allowed yourself the necessary time to grieve. you are such a positive member of this community and i hope you don't push yourself too hard.
Always love the content, J! I'm so sorry for your loss, and I would never want you to push yourself more than you feel you have to. If you're ever in So Cal, hit me up and I'll treat you to some of So Cal's finest tacos (:
for dancing blade you can use forward up down dorward and it will connect at high percents easily. it mainly is good for marth to land the tipper, but lucina can do the inputs immediately after each other and connect the last hit.
Hey Jtails I'm so sorry for your lost, and thanks for the positive message and for being a great teacher I appreciate you so much. Hopefully we can 1v1 one day. ☺🤗
I really liked this video. Even as a player who doesn’t play much of Lucina I was able to absorb a lot of good information. I like playing other sword characters I General. Maybe you could do a series titled “how to play as a sword character?” Id watch that
Marth tipper fair will kill at a reasonable percent from ledge and for sure off stage as an edge guard. Lucina will off stage at around 110 or so on most characters
I thought fair is safe on shield if u get the spacing right. For opponents that grab out of shield a lot, if I get the spacing correct i follow up with side b but even for opponents that don't, i still usually get away from it as long as im moving the opposite direction for the opponent when doing the fair.
Been struggling with Lucina lately, who is certainly my favorite character, this video has helped, but I just don't have it all together with her yet. I want to be successful, but the growing pains are certainly real.
Yeah the growing pains will be real for a while, but stick to it! Also check out some of my other lucina gameplay! maybe it could give you some ideas :)
Going through all of your other videos, mostly movement and some of the basic stuffs as this is my first smash game. I love Zero suit but I am unbelievably bad with her to the point that I'm thinking it's just not meant to be. Looking forward to any videos going over how to play her properly. Till then I'm just gonna keep trying to get better with her and practicing with Lucina as well.
Sorry about your loss. Great video btw, it makes me want to play Ultimate but my Switches Game Card Reader recently broke and now I have to send it in for repair 😑
My dad passed away back in February. Losing a loved one is the hardest thing in life, I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m sure your grandmother was an amazing woman and loved you so much. Just remember she’s in a better place and it’s not goodbye, it’s just see you soon. Stay strong & keep up the amazing work, your content is fantastic and has helped me a lot through my situation. Rest In Peace to her and may you soon find peace in your life 💜
I hope your doing well jtails! And also I have a video idea for u! I know that you have made a movement guide, but would you consider making a movement guide during neutral. Considering some people have a lot of Arial movement, some people stay grounded, some people play campy, some people play defensive, some play really aggressive. I know that I have trouble learning how to move around with these different play styles
