OMG!! I just made this!! Absolutely scrumpdillyishses... Or however you want to say/spell that, lol. Very good potato salad. My new favorite for sure! Note: I was out of fresh dill, so I substitute by adding pick juice right from the jar. Worked well. Flavors blended perfectly.
I made this potato salad today and it came out fantastic. I found it easier to make also because I didn't have to peal then slice and dice the potatoes. This is how I will do it from now on. Thank you for posting.
My grandmother and mom always made use homemade mashed potatoes for their potato salad, they added pimento, pickles, onion and mayonnaise it was always so good but my husband’s mom made hers with chunky chopped potatoes, can’t wait to try your version ❤ Sharky helped you chop the dill😊

Oooh girl! I love potatoes served all different ways and I LOVE smashed potatoes even more! They have literally become my JAM. I make them frequently...so this smashed potato salad is just a natural progression. They look so yummy, I can pra tically taste them! Yum! Yum! Thanks so much for sharing!

I made this but used my own dressing recipe. I loved how the potatoes made this way changed the texture and flavor profile. I will definitely make again!
I make smashed potatoes frequently and I sometimes cook them until fork tender in the microwave. I add oil and a bunch of spices like garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, parsley, and a little paprika and coat them all in a bowl...then smash like she suggests . I like to top off with a little butter on each tater and a little parmesean, then I put my smashed potatoes in the broiler for about 5-6 minutes, or until lightly browned and crispy. This way during some of those unbearably hot days I only have to have my oven on for a short time! But, no matter how you cook them, smashed potatoes are delicious and easy to do!
I made it last night and it was AMAZING, the only thing I did different was I added bread and butter chips instead of regular pickles oh and I added paprika as well 😋

My children are grown. They love my tater salad and only want it made the same way, always, for most of our family get-togethers... So I never vary the same decades old recipe. But this tater salad is something I really think I want to try. Sharkie 2:56. I hope to make this someday. Even though I don’t like dill flavor, I would like to try it that way first and then next time make it with miracle, whip, and sweet pickles. I don’t get to watch every video. So I don’t know if you’ve mentioned before about Idaho. It really caught me by surprise because I live in Southern Idaho, or at least it’s my homebase.
This was really good a lighter version of Russian Olivier salad .. I subbed out celery for cucumber ( that is how I also make my Olivier with fresh English cucumber ) and it was perfect .. dill always smells like home .. Russia for me … it is the herb of life .. I would agree and add it to everything ❤️
