I created this video with the hope of sharing knowledge. I take you through the diagnosis of the problem, the design for a solution and the installation of my improved spring mechanism.
If you are also suffering from a non-functioning Smeg cooker hood, let me know! We can't be the only ones.

Fixed my Aeg hood. I flood it with alcohol. After you extract the module, I sprayed desinfecting spray which is alcohol on all connections. Push the buttons WHILE YOU SPRAY to the get the dirt out. Then I sprayed air to dry it up. Test the buttons before reasamble.

My Aeg dk4390 has the same switches and problem. I will MacGyver the same parts you made with 3d printer.

I have a similar issue with a Whirlpool unit-the push buttons just don’t want to click and stay when pressed for the fan control. I’d love if you could send me a lot of your parts you made to fix these-please let me know if you’re still making or have any of them -thanks in advance!

I'm sorry, I don't make a lot of RU-vid videos so I've only just read your comment. I don't have any of these printed but there's been interest from other people so I may have a look at printing a few more this weekend. I'm kwerkshop on Etsy, message me on there if you want to request a few.
