Because they don't want to define the meta. They've explicitly stated that they want the test players to figure out what the meta will be. That's why they are doing away with roles for the time being. Go in, have fun, and break things.

Well, Let me give you the excuse that everyone is using in Hi-rez and their fans. "It's still in alpha" LMAO. If thats the case, Then this video is a big waste of time cause things should be changing when the game releases.

You'd be surprise how many people play this game and only touched arena, joust, siege or aram

Yeah I've seen people with 2k hours who go 4 and 20 in conquest cause it's too hard

You would be surprised. A lot of people in the alpha seemed to have never played conquest. Keep in mind a large portion of the casual player base sticks to arena and assault.

Conquest in alpha is pretty much arena in smite 1. They said they will introduce arena in closed beta, so this summer.

Smite is already quite simplified. They are literally trying to do the opposite, they arent gonna simplify it. They want to add complexity to the game. At a certain point simplifying a game to get new players ends up killing it. All games have a learning curve

@@sofiabruiz17 it really doesnt. Adding complexity to a game takes away the fun for new players, it is either learn or suck. It makes it extremely competitive. Look at rainbow 6, you have so much to learn mandatory to do anything in siege. The more laners have to go to the jungle the less enjoyable it will be for new players because smite is all about exp and gold. Thats just mobas, so long as theres a way to leverage that people will do it, if you don't or don't know how you're going on a loss streak, getting flamed and raged at by teammates, spam laughed by enemies and getting no kills or enjoyment no doubt

@@DestroAzureDx Takes a way the fun for SOME new players. As I said, many other people like the challenge. And the ones who dont were mostly playing Arena to begin with They literally said they want to focus on the competitive side of Smite. Also, not the best example. A better one would be LOL, more complex than Smite and still a huge game. Which is what Hirez is aming for. Getting raged and spam laughed isnt gonna change with comolexity, thats just because online games are toxic. People will find a way to be toxic even if you do everythinf right. Also, they are adding a bit of complexity, not making it into a Skyrim.

@@sofiabruiz17 yes but league doesnt have people constantly in the jungle splitting camps every single time they up, most of the complexity comes from item choice, champion mechanics/matchups, smart objective calls, and a whole rune system smite doesnt even have to augment your champion/playstyle. People farming jungle camps together has been in smite way too long. Smite 2 needs to go away from that. Especially since I'm excited that they're adding complexity through stat changes like into/strength and a new item system. The alpha felt snowbally just because a person had a certain god, like season 2 smite. Most of the reason is how well they clear minions and have time to farm jungle creeps in between instead of being focused on the match up, efficiently poking while clearing and avoiding that. Especially casual mmr or anything below diamond. You have to know more about jungling in smite than in league. Would more people playing or being willing to play smites main mode not be a good thing? Across smites history most players are not that into conquest. Thats why prizepool shrinks and why the esports scene is no where near as big as they want it. Only a handful of players can relate to, admire or want to feasibly be professional players

Smite is conquest. It's the real game.

@@AustinMumford that makes a lot sense I did make myself challenge of if I win 5 times I play this or role but if I lose three times then i’m not playing it and man people sure give up a lot

@@Beessokoo1coo1 Yeah, people instant surrendering after they die or the team wipes once has been a plague on this game for quite awhile. It's sad too, because I've played so many matches where we came back from noting in the end and won. It just takes practice man. There's plenty of tutorials going over how to effectively play each role as well. Keep trying dude.

@@AustinMumford No the issue is Conquest used to be good when it was simple like when Smite began. And now with every new season it has become overloaded with 20 billion objectives.

@@Azulfo Yeah, the smooth brains can't keep up. And really, there have only been two new objectives anyways. The Beacon and Pyromancer. That's it lol

@@ahhason my point is alphas are usually closed. And the price is very reasonable for what it offers. Most people who bought the founders pack didnt even buy it for the alfa access. At the end of the day it's literally like 10 days in total of alfa access, and the beta is 24/7 and open to everyone. If people are hating exclusively on not being able to play those 10 days for free, they need to grow up. Their marketing like it or not is working. And haters were hating because of the skins since days one. The majority of people are on board, they can keep crying all they want on their own. They didnt make more haters than they already had, and created a whole lot more fans and people excited to try it when it comes out. To the point many people who left years ago want to play it, including very big streamers

@@sofiabruiz17 Agree to disagree. You'll see. I'm not the one that is mad over this lol. Everyone I know is already abandoning smite 1 because of this. So in my experience you are super wrong and investing in to a game that probably won't make it. I'll never get suckered over these type of releases. Good luck!

It's not a matter of opinons. Also I invested 30 euros, it wont kill me regardless what happens to the game, no need to be so dramatic
