@Pillar_of_Salt I mean, I can't think of a certain game that has this exact mechanic, but all it's doing is shrinking linear to the heat meter, and then in turn showing the shrinkage in real time. By this concept we can compare many games with this level of basic quality of life. I am drawing a blank as to what games I can use as an exampl3 but I do know many modern games use very similar quality of life mechanics I just vant think of them due to the mechanics always being in those games and you never really think about it. Don't get me wrong I'm super excited for smite 2 and I love smite been playing since the beta in like, 2016, idk. But them all saying woah to such a basic mechanics that should be a given in modern games as this is now a modern game. That shouldn't be the "WOAAHHHH" what should be the woah is the new way sol can utilize her abilities due to this change. Idk this clip just kinda leave a bad taste in my mouth

That is actually very impressive, making the targeter dynamically adjust like that! I don't do game design, mostly back end web stuff, I can't help but wonder exactly how he did it. It would need to constantly check the amount of heat and update the targeter, or maybe you add a timer to it to withdraw at the same rate as the heat? As long as heat isn't updated, the timer counts down at the same rate as heat and adjusts size accordingly? Something else entirely that I have no clue about? I would love to know, just need more useless knowledge in my life lol

I've worked a good amount in ue5. It's actually super easy! You can make a UI widget in blueprints that reads from the private variable for sol representing her current heat. You add an update listener that adjusts the range according the function of her range and the engine handles the rest. Unreal is a great engine for providing this mechanism but from a programming perspective it's not actually too hard to implement

I’ve worked with unreal engine 5 a bit but I don’t want to down play the devs I think it might be simpler than you think but still very cool that they did it from what I concluded it’s a variable tied to an actor object that’s width changes according to the heat scale variable witch doesn’t feel that complicated to me but still super cool 😎

Also remember that while this seems easy or simple to do on ue5, it was likely nearly impossible to do on 3, which is why its exciting seeing what all they can experiment with.

I would say do a subtle change. More flames for part way, some blue flames added for full.

The flame effect is slightly more intense on her hands and fade away when the meter goes

She also has a movement speed bug. I spent 25 minutes in a game walking at AA penalty-speed. Havent replicated it, but it was super annoying.

Same game, smite should’ve been fixed and patched instead of making a new game. The whole time it’s buy this buy that price increase now and price increase later. Meanwhile still broken gods and its like the devs don’t play smite or play too much cause nothing gets done at hi res except scummy money grabs and very few actual fixes and tweaks

@@gloriousraven1512 when you bought the pack, it had instructions on how to do it and said to make sure you did it before buying to make sure you got your rewards. You should still be able to do it, tho. They have a tab in the Smite 1 client. I think it’s the divine legacy “event”

Nobody probably tested it, too much dmg and the speed of the attack in the initial phase of the game, and this speed of attack and movements in the hat, in Smite one was done well, in Smite 2 too powerful

sol was easy af to keep people inside the circle with since everyone and their mother wanted to dive you thinking they can just 1-2 tap your entire hp bar out of existence, so giving her a larger circle was unneeded but still neat.
