We've got a first look at SMITE 2, the Unreal Engine 5-powered MOBA sequel that will stand alongside the popular original game, not replace it. Previewed by Jen Rothery. #IGN #Gaming #Smite2
The game was running on a 15+ year old engine, I’ve been saying for years how much they would benefit from updating it. The sound design and lighting are already impressive as Hel.
@@ZeroOne130 According to some old devs they actually were planning on doing it but ended up canceling it. If Smite 2 does well there a chance they might reconsider.
@@aliquidgaming1068 I'd say it's slightly underrated and defo deserve more, comparing Smite to League and DOTA is like comparing a volleyball game to football and basketball, the other two are just vastly different giants. That said there's been a lot of great MOBAs that's sadly died, Heroes of the Storm is one that's barely alive and kicking that has been criminally butchered by Blizzard. So Smite still kicking it and hopefully growing again is amazing.
@@ricolives1166 Meh, new engine is pointless. ue5 engine is heavy and having to buy all the skins again, having to wait gods to reappear...it takes forever...so its pointless.
@@markoliimatainen2565 UE5 is heavy? what does this even mean some games in UE5 run on mobile. UE5 is more stable than UE4 and is less likely to crash. Geez don't talk when you don't know.
Will it be the big jump that will make it finally as popular as the other 2 big MOBAS? If they make it in Asia servers, it will maybe gain a huge player base with China and South Korea
Beads are now a permanent item that can be used with a specific key press, same for vision items. Relics have been turned into "active items" that now use their own hotkey to activate.
Ya a lot of smite players aren’t happy about their skins not transferring over. Legacy gems are just coupons that could mean nothing if the new skins cost twice as much. Atleast transfer over t5, limited and unlimited cause those skins cost a lot.
@@derek4111993 What are you talking about? Not wasting time and money to port skins they aren’t going to make money on makes them greedy? Are you delusional? If anything, they’re being generous to give us legacy gems to cut the prices of their new skins. Hop off the hate bandwagon.
In general what smite needs is a better matchamaking wich requires more players. A better anti-hack and a little improvement on graphics since it continues being a very beautiful game
@@jhonxavier3014 all 3 of the things you mentioned were being limited by ue3 pretty hard. the ui still runs on flash which is discontinued lol, you crack me up.
There are certain skins that you cant unlock anymore, making them unique in smite. Now with the new game you wont be able to transfer them to it either (making previous purchases worthless)? And its only a matter of time before they shut one of the games off since with this move they will be splitting a not so large community. I'll stay optimistic as im hoping that the new game will bring in more new and returning players
The skin purchase was already worthless when we made the purchase. What made you think they have a worth? The cost is for the devoloppers and artists and the IP if its a crossover, not a physical product LOL.
@@jakewhite215 “scam” games free bro, cosmetics are ur choice. And this is coming from a close to 10 year smite player. Can’t wait for this, here’s to another 10😂
@@jakewhite215You cant possibly be dumb enough thinking they could actually import the skins bro... This had to happen eventually. Unless you wanted to play the same dying game into oblivion
ATTENTION Progress from the first smite DOES NOT CARRY OVER According to the devs, Only a few selected via cross feature skins will Carry over to smite 2.
@@juicermcgooser3352 Yeah if you previously owned all Past to Current gods in Smite 1 they wil not carry over, and according to more information you will have to master them all over again, Hopefully there is a way to have the levels carry over I'm so annoyed my account level will reset to 0 in smite 2 Ugh
@@gedarosienta103the bright side is if you had recently switched from PlayStation to PC, at least switching over won’t be as bad. Currently using my ps5 literally only for smite and few other games where progress won’t cross over
They will give you “Legacy Gems” in Smite2 equal to every single gem you have ever spent in Smite1 - Unfortunately they probably will be far less valuable than the new gem equivalent in the new store … Just enough to shut people up for the most part about feeling like they have been hoodwinked 🤷♂️ I’ve spent $12,000+ on smite since beta, so I’m going to be one of those grumpy people demanding that they give me something in exchange for that investment 😂
WE NEED TO BLOW THIS GAME UP. More people need to play this ,more content, more advocacy! Lets put SMITE 2 on the global gaming map guys. Refer the game to your friends. Especially to LoL and DoTA players
Well that means you have to look in the direction you want to attack/use skills and you only have some space and the minimap to look behind you. That's a fundamental mechanical difference with top-down camera. Also because of that you depend more on the direction of the sound to know when or where the enemy is coming from.
As a Smite player, yes there's a huge difference. You gotta aim auto attacks and abilities, you can't see if someone is creeping from behind , you can hide behind walls. Also you can see characters jumping making it a jump party
Nah. lol. Predecessor is much better. Overprime isn't very much of a moba, it plays more like an arena. Predecessor is much more akin to a moba, as well as what paragon was.
Why remove Relics? Sprint? Berserker Belt? Teleport? Wtf.... They cannot shut down Smite... 130 Gods... Then they tell us they can't download everything into Unreal Engine 5 because it would take hundreds of years? What? 😅
Smite was the best for me. Played with an old laptop always using thanatos and missing every skill shot due to lag and just relying on ultimate to get a kill steal 😂
