@@kingkai18 As far as I can remember they said that voice packs would be unlocked by default on all gods. I can't recall where and when they said that though, so take it with a grain of salt.
Just look up the mini battle passes for individual heroes in Predecessor. It's pretty much that, minus those tracker things. It's like a mini BP for every god individually, probably gonna be 200-400 gems each.
@@coryv5679 Yeah man, if you didnt know by now making money is part of keeping a free to play game running. Some optional cosmetics that dont effect gameplay at all is the fairest way to make that money. They made voice packs free now which did have some impact on gameplay, god forbid they sell a little pass that unlocks recolors and cosmetics for you instead.
I just wanted to express how much I dislike the fact that the ascension passes give boosts to worshippers. I purchased the Ultimate Founders Edition minutes after it's release in hype for Smite 2 after sinking 4k hours in the original. Giving permanent boosts to really our only form of progression to people that pay though feels BAD. It takes away a lot of the motivation and feeling of accomplishment knowing I literally have paid for a boost. I would MUCH rather be given higher quality skins and cosmetics over having a permanent worshipper boost. Worshippers don't serve any tool other than individual accomplishment, which feels diminished by the ability to effectively pay to boost it. Edit: To reply to some of the comments, I think a lot of you are missing the point. Currently, the ascension passes will only really sell because of the fact there's a permanent booster attached to them. Instead of letting player pay for more worshippers, I'd rather have better quality cosmetics. It seems the old mastery skins are effectively being put behind a paywall with this, which few care about, but people will still buy the passes for the booster. The whole argument for having the boosters, is that worshippers don't matter so I shouldn't care. On the flip side though, if worshippers don't matter, why wouldn't you care?.. If you honestly believe that and support the booster being a part of the passes, why would you not want more quality cosmetics for your money instead of a booster that you effectively view as useless? Another view however is that masteries are effectively achievements. Worshippers are effectively achievement points, as they have no other use, so it's just really weird that they're going to be purchasable in a way. For some people that do enjoy getting masteries however I know that this could absolutely create a lack of meaning and genuinely ruin the feeling of accomplishment when hitting those goals. I would much rather the pass give something somewhat useful like a small number of gems (like the current battle pass system), favor, potentially a favor boost when playing those gods(?), better/more cosmetics, or just anything. I just don't see the reason to devalue worshippers, a form of achievement points. Also, I wanted to acknowledge the fact that Hi-Rez can say the reason for the boost is to progress through the pass faster. I think there's a happy middle ground though. Make the pass's points separate from worshippers. 1 worshipper can be equal to 1 pass point, but if you buy it, 1 worshipper then is equal to 2 pass points, or something like that. Or, make it so after completing the pass (Mastery 10 presumably) the boost stops so it's not just a permanent thing that continues to devalue worshippers indefinitely.
Honestly worshippers are kinda just a throw away thing and have no real purpose to it, having a boost for them either way is nice but does sour it slightly on people trying to speed run to be the first to diamond a god or such on release
We have already lots of worshippers boosters just by playing in Smite 1, this actually made sense since you want to actually get the cosmetics of the pass
it seems like the worshipper booster's basically a stand in for when battle passes boost your progress when you buy the premium track. The system has been changed to a battlepass for a specific god and that's just a part of it. It's probably going to be less of a prestige thing as a battlepass now in the first place.
please tell me the god stat trackers actually track like specific actions on a god like say how many times you've pinned someone as Erlang and not just quadras with this character
The wording suggests that it force unlocks the ascension pass on the first 11 or 23 gods. That sounds kind of insane though. Not the good kind of insane. I would have expected that I could save my ascension passes for the day of full release and use them on whoever I want.
Money, money, money, money. I mean this is becoming a Battle Passception at this point. The battle pass has a battle pass. This whole game has become a Monetization sim with a Moba added to it. They found a way to freaking Monetize everything you can possibly do now. They make Chinese Mobile games look less predatory and that is saying something.
I thought I read somewhere that ascension passes are one of the few things that could be bought with only legacy gems if desired, but I could be wrong.
It is predetermined, in the forum it says that the 11 for deluxe are Zeus, Anubis, Bellona, Chaac, Ymir, Bacchus, Neith, Anhur, Loki, Cernunnos, and Hecate. The 23 for ultimate have not been announced to my knowledge, but probably also predetermined and would include the first 11, the list just might not be finalised yet
@@mekkiepooyou should learn other gods kits so you have more experience with them. The gods you learn the more selection you have in smite you’ll be a pro smite player.
@@Rendertk1 well i think i know what the other 12 gods are. because the ystated early on in smite 2 that the current even with cross-gen skins are the gods that will be released by alpha. So looking at ones that got cross-gen but werent officially announced in smite 2 are the following: 1.) Yemoja 2.) Cerberus 3.) Ares 4.) Hades 5.) Aphrodite 6.) Susano'o 7.) Fenrir 8.) Hou Yi 9.) King Arthur 10.) Nu wa 11.) Ra 12.) Poseidon As I was typing this i remembered there were more so I guess it will probably boil down to which gods they choose for the 12 passes for the 100.00 dollar founders 13.) Scylla 14.) Izanami 15.) Thanatos 16.) Sol
I seriously wish you guys would clear up the explaination on legacy gems. In your original FAQ pre-Founders pack release, you describe the founders pack doubling your legacy gems as "giving you equivalent buying power in smite 2", but does this mean instead of the legacy gems only covering 50% of purchases they cover 100%? Or are you saying that having double the legacy gems that cover half of the purchase, but double the purchases to use them on, is an equivalent amount. I already bought my 30 dollar pass, but i wouldnt consider it equivalent buying power from game to game, because i have well over $2000 into smite and id essentially now have to pay $1000 into the new currency to have, as you called it, "equivalent buying power"
New to smite items can use legacy gems up to 50% of a purchase. Any skin ports can be bought with 100% legacy gems. The only exception is any ported crossover skins, like Avatar and TMNT. The amount of legacy gems you can use on those will depend on Nickelodeon and what they ware willing to allow.
@Zanroff fair enough, kinda sucks ill be shelling out more money. But the only god i really main'd at the end of my smite career was Nu Wa, so when she comes out ill just be nabbing all of her stuff, and the gems will prbs just sit, thankd for the replies guys!
Would be cool if it was something they added to in the future. Or if there were specific currencies you could get for each god throughout the pass where you could get some of their skins if you accumulate enough of it. Right now it just seems to be a mastery + thing (or something pay walling previously available mastery items).
My purchase of this pass is pretty much dependent on ps5-Pc coñrosssave, or at least knowing that if cross save is finally posible for Playstation in a few years i can link my old account. Saying it because in smite you can PERMANENTLY link your account with the smite 2
So essentially, you pay to get an Permanent EXP boost to get all the god's regular stuff, and at Max Level you'll now have the option to "ascend" which increases the level cap further for more cosmetics and emotes and stuff to unlock. (in addition to a few minor thank-you items for purchasing).
I think a big part of ascension passes, should give you a big discount on the skins hi-rez releases for said god, or maybe even that class of god (this can be conditional, like the discount gets wider on the skins if you own enough passes of that god class) ...if you make it worth it, between rewards, pricing etc people WILL pay. I believe more people overall paying for things is better than big burst buys but I could be wrong. When for example, smite 2's oddessy rolls around, since more popular/newer gods get skins anyway a discount on that product could get more people guaranteed to buy that product or to spend money at all if they are trying to grind fwotd or daily log in gems. Between Daily log in gems, and maybe adding a way to get gems for FWOTD or by playing enough games daily without leaving (like maybe 15 or 10 extra a day) Especially after you guys change your prices for gems; assuming those prices will go up? I think ascension passes are a good idea, just make it possible to get if someone grinds your game enough, smite 1 had some f2p systems that kept people willing to play, come back etc.
What about for the People who only bought the Base Founders Edition or when it comes out Free to Play, Can Ascension Passes Be Bought with Favor or Gems??
I said before predecessor has the same thing in their game. Like a mini pass for each character based on how much you play them. Don't buy the $100 pass if you don't see yourself playing every single god to max lvl
Nobody has averted this. Are we getting Legacy gems from ALL linked platforms? I played Smite on everything, am I getting ALL my gems from across the board as long as the platforms are all linked to one account?
Yes. You're getting all your gems attachged to your account, as long as each platform is linked. They will go off of your in game account, not your platform ccount.
Not being able to save ascension passes for gods i would want in the future kinda blows dick though, if im being honest as a morrighan main i wanted to have the option to save one for her, but luckily nu wa is in smite 2 so at least ill have her i guess
so it says "for the first 23 alpha weekend launch gods" so you cant put it on any god you want you are only limited to those 23 gods? So if i wanne put it on scylla but she isnt one of the 23 alpha gods i will never be able to have it on her?
So.. you took away stat tracking and added it into SMITE 2... Gotcha... Acension Passes just seem like more excuses for more microtransactions... Yay... recolored skins??.... Talk about lazy. Anything to reel in those $$$. You literally are making a Sequel where you took almost thousands of dollars from your playerbase telling them that skins wont be transferred, only to announce these acension passes that "Grant" you skins that look like are just flat recolored designs. Huge slap to your playerbase Hirez. My biggest concern is that with SMITE 2, you'll increase the price on every thing that is currently in the game. Skin prices will go up, more ways to maniupulate players into micro transactions, less gameplay. You guys are trying so hard to keep SMITE alive yet you are failing so hard so early. BUILD THE GAME UP, before you start focusing on cosmetics. You have your gameplan on Microtransactions before the game even comes out. You offer Founders passes before anyone can actually play the game to get essentially an early downpayment to do whatever with those funds. Come on guys. You're gauging the Microtransaction market and not the fans who genuinely want SMITE to be a good game. SMITE 1 was already drowned in Microtransactions, and you're expecting to add MORE into SMITE 2? Yall drunk.
Hey I'm desperate I can't find a straight forward answer from anyone anywhere. My main account that has 1000+ hours and many more dollars worth of gems bought is on ps4. I know you can't have cross progression on smite 1 with ps4 and pc. But for smite 2 will there be? Or a better question if I buy the founders edition on my ps5 for the 2x legacy will I be able to use those on my pc. It says there's cross progression on smite 2 but it also says that for smite 1 until you dig deeper. I'm a huge fan and really hope you can get to the bottom of this playstaion debacle that many of us are facing. Ps putting in support tickets won't get an answer either I've tried many times with different ways of asking.
It says on the 'Founders Editions' infographic they have at "Access is granted only on the platform this pack is purchased on", odds are, unless the skin states it, it wont go between smite 1 and smite 2
@@bakuryukenji3802 Nope, is has planned to have at least 25 gods FOR THE ALPHA, at the end, Smite 2 will have all actual gods + new gods like Hecate, Mordrem and Aladdin
@@lefeline9192 at the moment, they got 11 Gods. so, we can talk about what they got in 2 Years. But that is future, now we got 11 and thats a fact mr. whale. ah and Alladin... wow a Fairytale Character from one book... So many gods and mythological creature and they go for Alladin....
just buy the founders edition this is what i have done as a smite 1 founder. they are just skins(cosmetics) and fx your character plays the same anyway.
Ok so people can choose to pay in order to get more worshippers and recolors. What a scam. The good thing would have been to allow worshippers or at least Mastery levels to transfer from Smite 1 to 2, but well, Hi Rez being as greedy as it is, I should have expected as such.
Why do some players sit at spawn point and do nothing but move a few steps and just stop for another couple of minutes and this continues for most of the game
You bring out such expensive founders which pretty much the big difference is the passes but then the lack of info you really give on all of it is truly shocking, you just pulled a give me your money but trust me bro... big L on this one which is a shame after so many good things about smite 2 this really leaves a sour taste in my mouth
So they're paid mini season passes tied to gods? Ew Edit: i know its a free game and they need monetization. Stating the obvious isn't changing anything. Its still not really worth spending money on. I've bought some odyssey stuff so I do support the game
@@DarkChibiWeebie good idea but the pay part is what worries me. I'm all for mastery and extra cosmetics bc I love progression unlocks just not when cost is involved esp one I doubt will be a buck
@@oopsy444 you are complaining about literally nothing, basic "mastery" skins like they were called in Smite 1 will be free via this ascension system and on top of that for people who want to spend money on the game they can buy a premium ascension pass. Such a weird thing to complain about since its just an added feature for a chance at skins for your most played god. Assuming you can buy them with just regular gems and Hirez has login rewards you would hypothetically be able to get the pass for your favorite characters.
@@oopsy444 In the end it's a free game. You don't have to buy ascension passes and you won't miss out on any rewards since you're mastering a god anyways.
@@oopsy444 understandable, I never like it when there's stuff that would be free originally gets made into needing to be bought. Hopefully it gets expanded on better in the future
Okay, but you never address how to get said "god-specific battle passes" outside of the founders edition. Do I spend gems on them and if so are Legacy Gems worth anything towards these? Do you use Favor on them if that still even exists in Smite 2? Do you only get it via DLC purchases? You need to actually go into detail. Also no Diamond skins anymore? Kinda sad, but not as much as Fenrir still remaining a solid material statue compared to other characters just getting their clothing gilded. I find the pearl theme quite cute tho and its nice to see shadow skins return.
we've been told there's a free track and a paid track. You get the paid track with the passes, and I assume you pay gems to buy the paid track outside of that. Favor seems to be maybe be phased out since we have yet to see anything that would be bought with favor (the free track gives emotes, and other things that were bought normally with a choice of gems or favor, god voice packs are now all automatically unlocked) and the paid track has the other half of cosmetics that were usually bought with favor (skins that seem to be recolors and a bonus emote) Iirc during worlds they mentioned that the ascension passes would be purchaseable like a battlepass, I think. The founder's pack is just a way of getting a bunch of them at once with a bunch of other benefits. I do agree, I loved the diamond legendary, and mastered skins and will miss them if they don't return. I hope maybe they'll add those as recolors as time goes on if there's a popular enough demand for them.
Why would I watch a video that's supposed to tell me what ascension passes are for to then be told to go read a blog on what they are. DEI at its finest.
The most important info, namely whether you can choose the gods who receive their Ascension or not, was not in the video. My sincere gratitude to the user whose comment made clear, that you CANNOT choose the god. That is a deal breaker for me. HiRez, I am positive that you made this decision with full awareness of its implications, but I will not spend a single Euro on your game if you will not let me choose my favourite gods to ascend them
@FrogOnAHorse you mean the ascension passes? I mean, if it was successful then I hate to break it to you but it wouldn't matter who starts copying it first. It would have spread to other games eventually.
Reading through what an ascension pass gives, it seems to make up for the big price of the ultimate founders edition. Considering each ascension pass would give you 3 skins (Maybe 4, I got a bit confused whether the free skin was included in the count for the ascension one), the emotes, and a bunch of other cosmetics, and you get 23 of them, so you get 23*6=69 (nice) skins, along with the tier 5, the neith skin, and the godpass. Seems good to me.
@@poschrafael yeah, but some recolors look dope asf, like Anubis’ convention skin, Guan Yu, etc. also, I don’t play Fenrir, but that white recolor looked so clean 🥵
@@JoePNG.This, even in Smite 1 Fenrir has great colours, I really like the frostfang skin he had aswell, definitely one of the better default recolours along with Hel and Freya imo
I am one of the beta players from the original game. I am excited to get back into the game for part 2. I haven’t. I have not decided which founders I will buy yet. These accession passes locked to only certain gods is a big thumbs down for me. So I have to use the ascension passes on gods I don’t like or want to play? It should be allowed to be used on any god. Pay $100 and they decide who I should play or use these passes on is just not right. Please change this at least for the $100 founders pack. Make it a better value and you will probably get lot more sales.
Anyone know why smite2 cost money? The 1st game was free, with in game purchase, is it the other way around now? You pay first, then have everything unlocked for you?
If your account got banned 10 years ago and you bought Smite 2 founders pack on steam, will you still be able to play Smite 2 even though your old linked account is banned?
