SMITE Cthulhu Guide (Season 9) 

Also DO NOT ULT AGAINST A AQUILES WORST MISTAKE OF YOUR LIFE

One time I was on with my brother. He played the Morrigan and I played Cthulhu. You could *feel* the enemy team collectively lose their shit as they witnessed two Cthulhu ults crashing through them. It worked. We won insanely fast.

It's thanks to this god's release that I got back into Smite after Paragon shut down, (Big fan of Lovecraft's creations). Really hope people find him as fun as I do. I wanna make a few small notes to this god: >The stacks on his abilities only last about 5 seconds, and at full stacks you get about 16 seconds. >His dash has three parts: his main body, and the two side projectiles. Hitting the main body will guarantee a hit with side projectile, as the center of the dash Stuns and knockbacks targets hit >His 1 in his ultimate form also shreds protections, and the effect stacks. >His 3 in his ultimate form grants bonus power and movement speed to allies along with the healing. When in the early stages, I recommend farming stacks as often as possible as it can be harder to build the meter at later stages of the game. Confirm both hits of his 2, then land the center hit on his 3 , putting your target at max stacks . This combo not only helps you farm your passive meter but is also a good form of burst damage in both early and late game, using conduit gem and Manticore Spikes respectively. An Item I would recommend pairing with Cthulhu for newer players is Gem of Isolation. It will make it much easier to confirm both hits of the two and to lock people down when using your ultimate, as simply using his very wide 3 will hit just about anyone in the fight. The Gem of Focus upgrade for Conduit gem also counters his sluggish nature and the mitigations make him even more durable.

An ULT Tech: If you're in your ult and realize that you're outnumbered or going to die use your ult-2 to knock up their team and cancel your ult asap after you let it fly. You can get your dash out almost at the same time they land. Then follow up with a 2 at your feet for anyone who uses a dash to try and catch you, and boom. You can get out 1v5. Another option is to track when you have full stacks on enemies in your ult, cancel ult, then 1 them, causing the fear, and then dashing away. Again, a way to peel off 1v5 or survive with 1% health. I think with this you should very very VERY rarely be dying in your ult.

great vid cthulhu 2 can be canceled a bit early while still getting all the damage done, it saves you a bit of time on the cc, you need to cancel it at the moment the second projectile fall from the portal ( i think you'll lose a bit of area size tho ) the 1 in ult is also a protection reduction and your 3rd ability also grant movement speed and power to your teamate, but cost you percent health, imo it's great to use it at the start of your ultimate, faster teamate can help keep the enemies in your range. also, adc and qin's sais are your cthulhu worst enemies, it's hard to defend yourself against that in ult and your massive hitbox means you have no chance to dodge it ( you can't really dodge anything really ) and the sais will wake holes in your health bar, popping a shell right before ulting is the play

Prophetic cloak, oni hunters, gauntlet of thebes, glad shield, mail of renewal, mantle/manticore make for a very nasty build in joust. You will outsustain most fights 1v1. You will absorb and tank most 1v3 encounters with smart positioning. Attack speed is your worst enemy. Forgo the beads and get really good at warding and predicting where the enemy will be so you can take horrific emblem which will shut dps down very quickly.

"Fully increase the damage reduction" I am reading that for the move Sanity Break it permanently increase the base mitigation of this ability. Please help me understand. Does that mean the move gets weaker?

Probably just blind, but I can't seem to find the 4th item of the first build. Could anyone tell me what it's called?
