Well, Scylla’s a little girl with hellhound legs. It’s kinda fitting

Charybdis was a Nymph, daughter of Poseidon. Makes sense that after being freed she would return to her original form....or at least to a degree, the Maw shows that while she has been freed the curse laid upon her still remains

In the original version Scylla and Charybdis were just huge monsters, not little girls. I guess that making them little girls makes the smite characters more appealing for the public. They originally appear in the Oddissey and Ulysses has to choose which monnster to face and ends up with his ship wrecked and many of the sailors dead.

Think of it like this; Her sea monster arm is actually what she looks like and it's just wearing the little girl like a disguise.

I hadn't thought about it until know, but it kinda makes sense that he's the one who dies in every god reveal. Since he's always travelling looking for knowledge and has often sacrificed himself for obtaining more.

@@garreonlefay6703 i mean, not necessarily, they could make him a fast god with abilities around supporting their team, and maybe a passive that if near odin boosts both move speeds or smthn (just off my head 1st thought) and as jeb said, make him a guardian or warrior, imo guardian. or maybe just buff their team, debuff enemies, but not to the "must pick" levels obv.

It's slower start-up then scyllas but yes you can push enemies with the range and finish them off. Thing is I'm sure you can beads out of it before it pushes you all the way so you are really just looking to bite down immidiately

What this other guy said, also she is a hunter so sitting in the ult for will actually probably lower damage output since you can’t auto in it. Will have to see tho

Yeah, the occasional new interaction/directed taunt/new voicelines in general would be nice nuggets of content for updates. If they ever put the Persian Pantheon in the game Ahura Mazda and Angra Mainyu would be a great double release like the Horus and Set one. They'd definitely have some special interactions.

I was hoping Charybdis's Ult would be her whirlpool form and it would be similar to Hades's Ult in that it drags everyone into the center, but then it would end with a huge spout of water that blasts everyone backwards and deals damage to them.

Think Umibozu might work for an assassin? Its from Japanese myth. It apparently was a giant shadowy human-like entity that terrorized sailors. It can cause 'thunderous chaos' with just its appearence. Maybe Dagon for a Guardian? He's mentioned in the Esoteric Order of Dagon by Lovecraft & I think is from Mesopotamian myths.

@@Dragonado2831 The Dagon from Lovecraft is entirely different to the one from Mesopotamia, though(Lovecraftian one is an Aquatic monster, while the Mesopotamia one is closer to a Merman).

I simply wish it looked even a little bit like a "whirlpool..." I also could have seen it done very differently as a deployable movement ability...but that is neither here nor there...

@@josephhakim2344 agreed. And for such a greatly model designed goddess, I do not like how she was actually done. I rather wish it was, instead, a fairly large conveyor belt like circle that allies gained movement speed inside while going with the current as enemies were slowed while moving against the current. No cripple à la Poseidon, no knock-up à la Jormungandr: it would be much more like a circle He Bo atlas. Using her raging tides passive could have boosted the effects to double the movement speed and slow based on team affiliation... Her cone could just be a tremble, as it is a giant spurt of pressurized water out, like a dragon's breath or something, so why does it slow you at all? Conceptually, that makes no sense to me either. At least the water being a physical protection reduction makes sense, and the tide interaction I enjoy. Again, I just strongly dislike how her whirlpool ability was done visually. "The Maw" doesn't even have a mouth that could open how the ability is portrayed - which is much more like that of a leech than the piranha esque, angler esque jaw - so I find it very messy and confusing looking. Also, it being, essentially, a much better Sol disapparate really bugs me. The immunity + the movement speed + much more reliable damage + a knock-up? I feel bad for how outclassed disapparate now looks. Furthermore, as they really wanted the whole chomping reset action, why didn't they even have "The Maw" swim from underneath and arise from below like a Hades leap? It would make a lot more sense with it being a sea monster and could grant the same idea of a shark attack from the depths only much more satisfying/less strange looking to me. Make sure it was as slow and you could see The Maw via a dorsal fin, or something, as it travels. That could be her spitting back out the sea three times a day as the myths go, and the knock-up could be relocated there. Again...that's just me though. I don't like the visuals of those two abilities AT ALL...but I am not the devs, so my opinion means basically nothing. TL;DR: She has an awesome character model to me, but those two abilities look terrible I would say.

@@skinkzac won't lie. Once I got it, all motivation to play it just cut by 50%. Now I play for the thrill of drama and rage. You forget what it's like to grind until you finally have all of the characters. Kind of a buzz kill.

@@gaunterodimmmastermirrors72 It was the opposite for me. After god pack I then grinded mastery 1 on all gods and then 20 x 10 mastery...

for me I have less time to play so owning them all since 2014 and taking huuuge hiatuses from the game now and again means I still haven't really played all of em, and I get more enjoyment testing Off Builds to see what certain gods can get away with. It just means I have plenty of time to test everyone and they practically come out with new ones faster than I do this with how much I play so I'll never run out or have to 'grind' or pay more to try something new when I see an opportunity. It's a nicer slow chill long game type deal for me.

She actually moves slower upon activation, whereas Charybdis not only goes faster upon activation, but can also spend tide to go even faster. Sol's 3 has a wait time for her immunity. Charybdis is immune from the moment her 3 is activate to the moment it ends. You follow Sol after her 3, you might get burned due to the trail of flame, but you can easily avoid this. You follow Charybdis after her 3, IF YOU CAN CATCH HER due to her initial speed boost, she can either simply spend tide to move faster, or she can spend tide, double back on you, do the extra damage, knock you up at the end, and then she can take her chances on trying to get away in her normal form, but the knock up will still give her the edge as you are still in the air and she is on the ground and there is no lag period from when her 3 ends, so she can start moving as soon as the ability ends. Sorry, but Charybdis wins this one.
