Smith&Wesson M&P Shield Plus review! 

Thanks for the review. I have this in 30. Super Carry and it’s been phenomenal. Very reliable and very accurate. A word about safeties, I have both striker fired, and DA/SA hammer fired and usually carry appendix. For my striker fired, I will engage the safety when holstering and then disengage. It takes a bit of training to remember to disengage the safety once holstered, but anything that can help mitigate the risk of a negligent discharge makes the extra step worth it.

If they're not going to give you the three magazines like Glock, at least put a pinky extension in the box. Right now I carry the M&P Shield, 2.0 with the upgraded sites apex trigger, aluminum pinky ext, bass plate with magguts +1 spring upgrade it. HYVE mag release button, L2D Brass Barrel, and a HOGUE Grip. I don't really need the shield plus. If I wanna carry more ammo, I have a Hellcat That I normally carry in the summer

I just covered this on my channel, too, and it's definitely the best option for $400 ! I have the slightly more expensive OR model with the tritium sights, but that's really the only difference between the two. For those on a tight budget who decide to go with the base model, you will still be getting one of the best micro 9's available today. 😁

Its not a 3.7 inch barrel....the barrel on the smith and wesson shield plus is 3.1 inch at 1:48

The equalizer 15 round magazine fits the plus!

Nice overview...I really like mine. Great trigger, very accurate pistol, comfortable to carry. There are some nice alternatives, but in my opinion the Shield Plus is the standard for sub/micro pistols.

I've had the optic ready version which comes with night sights for about a year now and in my opinion, for me at least, it's been phenomenal. Not a single malfunction or issue of any kind. Added a red dot and it's become my EDC. Caught that you said you were a lefty, as am I. It's pretty easy to reverse your mag release button. Only takes a few minutes, and well worth the effort. They actually have several RU-vid videos on how to do it.

The Pearce grip extension for $12 is the perfect piece to make best use of the 10rd magazine. hth

Yup $399.99 is pretty darn good. I try to get the pack out kit but that possible still today. Can’t wait to take it to the range. Thanks man 👍🏻

You'll need that 10 round mag if you go to a state like Colorado where 10 rounds is the largest carry capacity allowed.

Smith, Sig, Canik, Glock, Springfield, Ruger, etc,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, You can't go wrong with any of those brands,,,,,,, but I do prefer the texturing on the Shield plus, with a proven track and great price it's hard to beat the Smith!!! I own all of the above plus some, and I find myself carrying the Smith and a Ruger LC9s Pro the most. For whatever reason, the Ruger tends to shoot more accurately.

I have one those anomalies where the trigger pin walks out. But man do I love the way it functions. 😭

Picked up the regular shield plus a few months back for a different edc option. Liked it so much I picked up a second, the OR model and have thrown on a Holosun eps carry and a tlr6 and absolutely love it. Also a pierce pinky ext has made a massive improvement for a full grip on the 10 round mags

Love my shield plus got mine used for 330 with 5 brand new 13 rd mags and one 10 and a holster after looking at the gun I realized it had clearly never been fired by the previous owner so i got a Steal in my opinion

Just got one with the Crimson Trace Micro Red Dot for $479 on buds

Just bought a used one for about $430 (before tax) a week ago after renting the range model about 5 times over the course of 3/4 months. It's a great shooter for its size. I plan on taking mine to the range to get some more practice in (mine has a manual safety, the rental did not) before I start carrying it. I do plan on buying the P365XL also, but it will have to wait since the Plus seemed like too good of a deal to pass up at the time.

The 10rnd mag is there for smaller hands=women. Those of us with man sized hands use the 15rnd from the ez.
