Parts used:
ARB pressure switch PN# CO35SP
M12x1.25 to 1/4” NPT adapter x1
1/4” NPT female T fitting x1
1/4” NPT male - male nipple x1
“M” style female air coupler x2 (1/4” NPT female)
“M” style male air coupler x1 (1/4” NPT female)
3/16” barb to 1/4” NPT fitting x2

BTW......the piece you replace in the compressor is NOT M12x1.25 to 1/4” NPT adapter x1......it's to 1/4” NPT adapter x1

Hi Piston Broke Off-Road, this is an awesome mod, I have the thumper MKII which is very similar to this and I have found that the threaded fitting is starting to ruin my valve stem threads with repeated use so I am going to do this mod, do you have that part number for the ARB pressure switch handy?

I have one of those female shrader connector on mine that pos is coming off. I don’t know why these companies don’t use the standard air snap fittings.

This isn’t necessary though, if you don’t let the compressor stay on (building pressure) when not connected to a valve stem? Or if it’s on and not airing anything up, you can just hold the air wand trigger down to avoid the issue, is that correct?

Normally its connected to the air chuck so it dead heads when it's not pushed onto the valve stem. So every time you remove it from the valve stem the pressure relief valve blows over and over. Or you're stuck carrying the compressor around to each tire and switching it on and off over and over. Plus the wires aren't long enough for that. This was the easiest way I found to do it. I'm sure there are other methods

I know little to nothing about electricity. Can you describe how you wired the pressure switch to the relay? Your set up seems to be the most streamlined out there. Would like to duplicate.

Michael Day there’s several ways but the way I did it I checked which side of the rocker switch had the power coming into it using a test light. I can elaborate on this if needed just let me know. Then I selected the other wire (leaving the switch heading to the relay) and I cut it about 2” from where it was soldered onto the rocker switch. I extended the 2” wire coming off the switch out to the pressure switch (doesn’t matter which side) and then I ran a wire off the other terminal on the pressure switch back to the other side of the cut wire that goes to the relay. @@pistonbrokeoff-road1710 I'm also a bit confused, I thought I understood until I read this reply and now I'm doubting myself haha. My original understanding is that you would cut the wire downstream from the toggle (between the toggle and relay) and attach one wire from the pressure switch to the end coming out of the toggle and the other wire to the end attached to the relay, effectively adding another switch downstream of the toggle.

Reading your reply again that might've been what you were saying. Though wouldn't it work wired either upstream or downstream of the toggle?

I was planning on doing a setup just like this, however I was going to try and run two of these compressors! My thinking was that two of them together will not only fill my 7.5 gal tank faster, but it would help out with the duty cycle as they're both not having to stay on as long. I'm curious if you think running a 100psi on 140psi (or 130psi) off switch would work. Are their any safety features built into it aside from the pressure relief valve that comes with it from the manufacturer? I'm also unsure how it will do trying to compress air in the 100-130psi range as I'm sure it was designed to attach directly to the tire and see lower ranges 0-40psi?

Great video. I just did the pressure switch mod and have a question, if you don't mind. Is it unusual for the fittings at the compressor to get pretty hot? I actually did the mod right after buying the compressor; so, I don't have a pre-mod comparison to see if it is hotter or just common. I set up a hose system where I can air up all four of my Jeep tires at once; so, the compressor runs a bit longer than if I were just airing up one tire at a time. Do you know if the compressor will still shut off if it overheats?

I built a 2 tire at a time inflator and everything gets red hot eventually. Even the air so it’s got to double check your pressure after a while when it cools down and contracts
