This is a new design that im testing , by no means is the concept finished , some smoke is produced upon loading the device but in general this design burns leafs with 90% less smoke then the conventional method , it also does not leave a huge ash pile in front of your house and its also faster then burning them in a pile

You need more stages. Dehydration, primary burn, secondary burn. Dehydration to remove moisture. This will reduce a lot of the smoke. Then after the primary burn you need another stage to inject air so that any unburnt particulates like smoke will have another chance to burn before leaving to atmosphere. Your vent holes are a good idea but the main burn needs to happen lower in the barrel so the vents can pull in oxygen for burning the smoke.

Not smokeless, but I wonder how much of that is actually steam. Hard to tell how dry those leaves actually are.

make sure the leaves are pretty dry so it would burn fast and have less smoke that's the real way to do it

Btw, I've burnt tons of garden waste, in a simple barrel, the only secret is low feed rate... and be patient.

Kind of like a gasifier. Would you thnk the CO2 would be the same or less than making smoke?

Probly more because if your burning the smoke also your gonna get more C02

Will Flock very true , you would be surprised at how dangerous they claim smoke from leafs is, they say it produces colloidal particles some of which can effect hormone receptors and cause respiratory issues and damage your eyes. thats why the epa wont let you burn leaves in town

@@GamerPro132 CO2 is non-combustible so it won't burn. Go back to chemistry if you think that'll sustain a fire.

Upgrade the impeller on your blower and add the leaves there, instead.

Unlike this brave person, I have a low comfort level when it comes to fire. I use a wood chipper that reduces my yard debris 20:1. Makes fabulous addition to the garden/mulch pile.
