He said in Wano something like "If I cant fight/defeat you with one eye I'll never be the best swordsman in the world" I think that he maybe doesnt have a special eye, but he is closing his eye because it is a draw back. (maybe he has developed a special eye like Mehawk.)
Luffy will only stay alive, not because of his crew around him, but because Bartolomeo will protect him. Since he is pretty much the characterization of the one piece fandom, his Barrier-Barrier Fruit is pretty much plot armor, literally and figuratively.
Yeah. He literally is the OP fandom. I’m pretty sure it was an editor who said so. About how ruthless people can be ( Bart cutting out someone’s tongue for saying something negative about Luffy) to the ship & everything else ( Many authors get death threats when they kill off characters, people have committed suicide because two characters weren’t shipped in a series. Just a couple ways of how fandoms duality of absolutely loving something yet being incredibly callous)
Yeas sucks that things like that happen. I’m sure you know I was just joking, but that is cool (if that’s the right word, sure there is a better one) to know that about some characters.
The Bari-Bari no mi is stupidly overpowered, and Bartolomeo uses it like a complete idiot. His barrier's limitations are that there can only be one of them, and they can't be too big, which is VERY LARGE. He could've beaten the Rupture man by making a third of a sphere on top of him, then pushed him into the ground, he'd have popped, and eventually been crushed, and Robin and Cabbage wouldn't have had to use Hakuba to escape. Quite honestly if I could eat a Devil Fruit, it'd be the Barrier fruit.
I think Smoker is honestly a great character, and I think he will be helpful in the future. I think he is starting to realize how corrupt the World Government actually is, and I believe he will switch sides later in the story. I believe he will always be a Marine, but a Marine who will stand up to his superiors who are in the wrong.
Smoker is highly depend on his fruit he use smoke even while punching he needs to learn some martial arts like fishman karate Or rokoshiki give him that + awaken smoke smoke fruit and he would start kicking butts instead of getting his butt kicked
I haven’t the read Prologue of Shiki in the manga whenever the Impel Down Arc happened to know if he can solo everybody in One Piece or not, but considering that Liam has been reading the manga more religiously than me then I guess I agree with Liam’s viewpoints on Shiki soloing everybody is a ridiculous claim.
@@RoronoaZoro-ur6hr tbh at this point seeing power scaling I'm starting to think that roger is just a little above a yonkou level like he would have a hard time fighting kaido and big mom so shiki would also have a hard time
@@moonondp4173 I'm pretty sure thats how it is, no way anyone could low-diff the current high tiers like Kaido, no Prime-Roger, Prime-Whitebeard, "Prime-Joyboy" or whatever. Would they win? Im pretty sure. Would they rather avoid a full on conflict? I guess. Wasnt Roger avoiding Big Mom to get her porneglyph back then, too?
I Remember long before the timeskip, Smoker was such a threat too Luffy and the Strawhats. At the time he was so OP due too the fact that his Devil Fruit made him impossible to hit or touch. He was the first Logia User introduced the story. But now he's not even a threat and couldn't even take on Dolflamingo who Luffy pretty much massacred in Gear4. Now Luffy can embed himselfin Conquers Haki and mastered Ryou. Smoker wouldn't stand a chance.
I think it's funny Smoker tried to tell Luffy if he couldn't beat him he wouldn't survive in the Grand Line, even though Logias that depend on their intangibility die quickly in the New World. Almost makes you think he was meant to be at least a little bit more than how he first appears in the series.
Unpopular Opinion: Bon Clay deserves to join the Straw Hats more than any other of the popular candidates. He’s helped the crew in so many ways and has been so damn loyal, he needs a reward.
@@beru7036 ikrr he lost to pre timeskip luffy. And shiki was comparable to the yonkos. The power scaling in the movie was messed up tho that movie was a *chefs kiss*
Shiki lost because he didn't take Straw Hat's seriously (didn't think they were much of a threat, fought Luffy in a storm, allowed Nami to navigate his island into that storm etc) since he still thought of himself being a legend and didn't put effort in what he was doing. Being something at your prime doesn't mean you'll be that forever.
I feel like his power is ridiculous he just hasn’t had the opportunity to show it, against silver we didn’t see the full fight, at marineford it was clear that his strength was not something that was going to be highlighted, and he wasn’t sent to dressrosa or wano so we haven’t had an opportunity to see his full strength recently
I think Smoker and by extension Koby deserve a lot more attention naratively because they are some of the only Marines we see who aren't corrupt/jerks and could do a great job showing how the marines are to most people the good guys. Koby is already friends with Luffy so there's a little less conflict between doing right by the marines and doing right by his own ethics, but Smoker is still opposed to him and also skeptical of the marines
Unpopular opinion: Smoker had so much potential but Oda did him dirty he should be stronger and shouldve showed up in Wano with Tashigi (that's just obvious because her katana thing) looking for Luffy but inadvertently helps him as he is prone to do and Elbaf can be epic! like it's the land of giants so you'd think there would be giant trees, rocks, grass and even giant bugs and animals imagine seeing a squirrel the size of an elephant! I think Oda's decision to put Big Mom in Wano instead of Elbaf despite her clear connection to it was a GIANT mistake (pun intended). I'd like to see an epic big bad evil giant in Elbaf be the main enemy for the strawhats but since I don't see how that would connect to the main story we probably won't get that even though it'd be a nice break sorta like Skypea and then back to business
Big problem with Smoker is that Haki took away everything that made him threatening. He had a logia fruit that made him impossible for Luffy to fight and a weapon that let him fight devil fruit users. Post-timeskip, lots of people can fight devil fruit users and everyone can hit Smoker. Worst of all, after Punk Hazard... what is driving him forward anymore? What does he want? If it's just "good governance of the marines," then what sets him apart from Coby? I'm hoping he'll show up again with Tashigi and Aokiji soon.
Yeah he giants hate big mom and if she were to step into Elbaf she would get obliterated. Not because she isn’t strong but their military power is said to be so strong, and big mom never managed to get it for herself showing tht they can fend for themselves.
that's not a real unpopular opinion and i'd go as far as saying that it's the majority of opinion that the series is underrated and should have more attention
Here's my hot take: ace joining Whitebeard's crew was incredibly sad. It's framed like a good thing for him but Ace essentially lost to a superior pirate force, had his crew disbanded, and was denied his dream of being Pirate King. If the same thing happened to Luffy we'd be crushed.
Whitebeard probably was gunning for pirate king back in the day but he understood that he no longer had the time to achieve it in the present, which is probably why we didn't hear him go on about it and his crew wanted him to become Pirate king as it most likely was his dream before he became pop-beard
Unpopular Opinion: Almost everyone overlooks the fact that Mihawk has made one of the two black blades in existence, and considering how that put Ryuma as a legendary swordsman in the land of swordsmen, it's gotta make Mihawk one of the strongest characters to exist in One Piece. A black blade is something Oden couldn't pull off. And if Oden came close to beating Kaido...
Mihawk is very likely on the level of current Kaido and Big Mom, probably not in durability, but definitely in power and Haki. Mihawk is the world's strongest swordsman, and Shanks is also a swordsman, so logicially Mihawk should be stronger than Shanks.
@@pokemontrainer6941 If anything, that makes it more impressive for Mihawk. Oden's swords are only great blades and Oden couldn't even make one of them a black blade; Zoro still has yet to make Enma a black blade, yet Yoru is a supreme grade blade and a black blade. Supreme grade blades are stronger than great grade blades and probably require more work and power to make it into a black blade. Shanks and Rayleigh don't have black blades either despite being powerful swordsmen.
unpopular opinion: Smoker is one of my favorite characters and I like him and luffy's relationship. for example at punk hazard luffy was treating smoker like a old friend saying "hey smokey hows it going you got weaker"(or something along the lines of that) calling him nicknames while smoker didnt want to to take any pity from his so called rival. this relation ship reminded me of garp and Gold-D-Rogers. (I dont think their rivals but smoker constantly pursuing him gives the impression they are rivals.). His devil fruit also intrigued me since it was the first logia fruit and he seemed unbeatable at the time.
Personally, I think the best path for Elbaf would be having it be the place where the crew takes down Big Mom once and for all. Maybe she gets out of Wano before Kaido goes down, and tries to forcefully take over Elbaf since they will not cooperate with her willingly. That way we can get a flashback of the history of Lola and Loki in a way that it plays into the conflict of that arc. Usopp could have a big moment that solidifies him as a warrior of the sea, just like the way he views the giants. Maybe he beats Perospero or someone like that, just under commander rank.
Unpopular Opinion: Shiki is the most overhyped character in the entirety of the one piece story by the fans. He will never be a relevant force in the story outside of cameos because Oda is NEVER going to overwrite the story of a movie that made Toei millions of dollars and that Oda directly worked on.
You realise its stated in the manga that shiki was an actual character in the main story. Though if he would come to the current story we don't know. So thats a possibility. Second shanks is the most overrated character in the entirety of one piece

Hm, nah, it would probably be one of the 4 emperors, despite not being mentioned until Thriller Bark, Oda planned for them to be there from the beginning
I think the reason Kizaru talks so slowly is because of his power everything must seem incredibly slow in his eyes, so he compensates for it by acting slow. Probably too slow though.
I like the English dub. It has a lot of quirks that I’ve come to enjoy. Opinion of unknown favor: Kolby deserves to be an admiral by the time the climax starts. He’s proven himself and to see him clash with major players as a force to be reckoned with is what his character needs to fill out his arc.
It always felt like they made Smoker weak on purpose for story sake. Like Oda needed some one to be a punching bag so other character can get the spotlight. Something similar did happen to Law in Dressrosa where he got absolutely destroyed by Doffy twice in order to continue the story and set up Luffy vs Doffy. Hopefully Oda will use Smoker as less of a punching bag in future arc.
@@Deathmare235 well yeah of course Law is strong, he’s a more important character who’s given a lot of time to shine. I was simply just saying for Dressrosa he was kinda a punching bag for that one arc.

Yea I'm gonna have to agree with you on Smoker. There is conflict going on in Smoker that is handicapping him through the series. Maybe later on in the series he will be developed to overcome that conflict and reach his potential. The only suitable Marine rivalry I can imagine that makes sense and I would be cool is Koby.

I wasn't surprised about smoker lol. I feel like in One piece, there was most definitely going to be some sort of technique that would allow people to attack logia fighters, because if not they would be way too overpowered. It just felt kind of obvious, so when haki was introduced, I was all like of course. Smoker, who's entire name is centered around his power, seemed like someone who was too over reliant on his devil fruit. So it didn't seem surprising when he got his ass whooped that easily.
@@netlus93 I don't think he was intelligent enough to be a Yonko though. He was OP he was arrogant, and he was able to create an army of insanely strong people, but he wasn't strategically competent enough to be a challenge to any of the other Yonko. Just think if Shanks or Whitebeard were to have fought Enel, the fight would have been over before it even started.
I think he was written pretty well. The OP nature of that devil fruit would have made him unbeatable especially if you factor in haki which he would have had to master to be a yonko. Being an arrogant prick with no drive fits him perfectly.
Unpopular opinion: You should bring back the devil fruit encyclopedia. *Edit* Huh, I honestly didn't expect so many people to support this comment. Maybe I was wrong and this opinion isn't as unpopular as I thought.
I like both English and Japanese for the anime. Funimation got a lot of heavy hitters for the crew and main characters. Even now, their dub of Whole Cake Island added Clifford Chapin and Alexis Tipton in big roles. The English is very well done. The Japanese is flawlessly good from a VA perspective, so it's admirable that the English version has hit so hard.
Dude smoker had the potential to be one of the best characters (my favorites are mihawk and law so you can see why) I really hope they make smoker scale better as the series continues since he's falling behind
currently rewatching the anime through the english dub, its jarring at first (luffy and chopper screaming voices omg) but there are some amazing ones like robin's VA and usopp's VA get the job done much better than the sub imo. either one can be enjoyed if you don't try to compare everything.
He isn't nearly strong enough... he got beat by vergo. In the same ark aokiji (former admiral) stopped doflamingo in the blink of an eye. Just for comparison
@@madeinheaven1860 Luffy needs two years to progress 1/5 of the way smoker would need to become an admiral. And he's the MC. Logia is strong and all but not guaranteed "overpowerednes"
Smoker was Luffy’s first loss in the series, would love to see the series end with a fight between Smoker and Luffy, the two symbolizing Garp and Roger’s relationship from the previous generation coming full circle.
I agree eventhough people think it's supposed to be Coby which makes me worried that Oda might kill off Smoker too. Considering Luffy has a grudge against Akainu, it's not supposed to go down between them so easily and that's why Smoker needs to get in Luffy's way in order to be given a fighting chance to become important again. Again, I also see Smoker as a future Garp because in the new era both Luffy & Smoker were new to Haki. Coby on the other hand, got on the new Fleet Admiral's bad side and that's why he'll keep Coby around as Luffy's weekness. Big brain don't you think?
Yo Liam, you should carry on the "True Bounty" series man, I loved them. You could even do charecters with no bounties and try to guess them. You could do↓ Rayleigh Marco Kuma Doflamingo
I love the end, with Shiki. That was hilarious and the best reaction ever. The 'Nothing happened' moment is also known by Brook. If I remember correctly, he tells Zoro he knows what happened, when Zoro says goodbye to the sword that was rusted by that marine at Enies Lobby. Kin'emon's hair going from blond to black could have happened naturally. My boyfriend's hair was blond when he was a child, but when I met him, he was black haired (still is). Unpopular opinion: Aokiji will be the one to end Blackbeard for good
Imagine if the Aokiji vs Akainu fight was staged to fool others into thinking Aokiji really left the marines, with their true goal being capturing Teach.
I've always been annoyed at the fact that Sanji will not stain his hands by fighting with them - only to firmly plant them into the ground to go for his helicopter kick thing. It kind of undermines the whole "cleanliness" thing that chefs are (usually) going for :P
Bleached hair is synonymous with “delinquent” in Japanese media. I think Kin went back to his natural hair color when he became Oden’s vassal and truly said goodbye to his outlaw delinquent ways.
Kinda wierd that smoothie is the commander with the absolute least attention. Can't think of a single thing separating her from the other commanders...oh well
Unpopular Opinion: Robin is the worse Strawhat. Not a bad character or a person but “Strawhat”. She knew that Sabo was alive the whole time and never brought it up. Maybe Sabo said don’t tell Luffy he would like to meet Luffy himself, but there’s no guarantees that they could of ever meet, and they certainly wasn’t planning on it in Dressrosa it just happened that way. Also, Luffy is captain of the crew and Robin should of still told Luffy even if Sabo asked her not too, but we don’t know if Sabo actually told Robin not too.
If you mean Johnny and Yosaku the bounty hunter failures, they actually got a cover story telling they became fishermen of ..coba or cocoyashi village.
The problem with Elbaf that its Usopps destination, and he already been on a "giant food island". And Giants are... just giants. So far every giant and ancient giants purpose was to showcase the "bigger you are, the harder you hit the floor" rule. BabyBigMom already wiped the floor with the King of Giants, and pretimeskip strawhats already had a brawl with the infamous Giant Warrior captains. After timeskip the current known strongest giant pirate crew is already in the Grand Fleet. Fishman Island is actually a great parallel, but only until you realise Aarlong was already one of the toughest Fishman of the nation...
Unpopular opinion: Sanji has a lot of waste of character development because Oda wants to keep making the same “perv” jokes. He could do many interesting things about his character, from exploring why he’s so awkward around girls to exploring his relationship with the okama and how maybe he dislikes crossdressers because he sees something he hates about himself or what he learned on their island. I honestly would love to see him fight with elements of the kamabakko style.
But the Kamabakka Style seems to require to be transgender. And Sanji just isn't, so that isn't something he could incorporate into his fighting style.
Well his reason for treating women the way he does is because his mom and sister were the only ones to show him love growing up. And maybe he’s just homophobic, oh no they might cancel a fictional character on Twitter
@@jonathanappleseed1906 wouldn't you agree that "maybe he's just homophobic" is just a way weaker narrative? And totally pointless to his character development?
