I agree 100%. 85 Topps was so special because of the rookies and USA team. Imagine if Will Clark and Larkin would have been added to the USA cards could have been one of the all time greats.
Dang, Some Loaded '85 Topps Packs You Scored My Friend. As Always, Great Rip & A Great Time! The Eric Davis & Doc Gooden RCs Are Both Such Classic Cards IMO.
Those Expo cards make sure that the rookie hits are well protected! :) Appreciate the congrats...I didn't even know till you commented and I got a little excited like a kid at Christmas!
Good question. I think because both players were great for a short while they have a huge fan following. Same goes for Mattingly and Strawberry. I also feel like being in the Ny market also helps. Thurmon Munson and Roger Maris also come to mind as non HOFers that are collectable.
@@thewaxpackdad Yeah I know the O-Pee-Chee sometimes worth more than Topps. But 30 years ago it was very hard to establish their value. There were no OPC in the Baseball Beckett so we genuinely thought their worth was less than Topps. I sold my collection 30 years ago to pay for my divorce! lol. Now I regret it cause i had great value hockey rookie cards in great shape like Gretzky, Lemieux (had 5 of them), second year Bobby Orr, 1960 Maurice Richard. My best baseball cards were Reggie Jackson rookie, second year Nolan Ryan. I enjoy your videos, WPD.
I'm trying to remember the As minor league teams in the day. What was their AAA team? We had the Madison Muskies in the A ball midwestern league back in the day. I saw them play in Appleton but not all the stars made it through there. And thanks!!!
That's funny - I really don't give Les Expos the love they deserve. Lots of good player in the late 70's early 80s and then what could have been in 93.
That was fun to watch. Especially the Gooden and Davis pulls. I have a Team USA McGuire card graded PSA 7 if you’d be interested. I could do $24 shipped. Let me know.
Good evening, my friend, hope you're doing well. Man, this was a great rip, with several good cards. That ERIC DAVIS RC is awesome. He is one of my all-time favorite players. That DOC GOODEN RC is awesome, as well. I know BRETT BUTLER cards aren't worth anything, but he was a great player. He hustled, worked his butt off, and did his job pretty darn well. I also like BAINES, GUIDRY, SIMMONS, and a whole bunch of other players that don't get the respect they deserve. Anyhow, awesome video, brother, congrats on the fire🔥🔥🔥 hits! Thanks for sharing, and keep on rippin'!⚾️🔥⚾️
Thanks so much!. I mostly remember Butler as a Dodger and he was a solid lead off guy...like you said a real hustler. I was real excited to pull the Doc and Davis Rcs. Thanks for watching, I really appreciate it.
Wow, that was some good pulls. Eric Davis was my favorite player back in the day and the ‘85 Davis I have is not in good condition. Well done!! I have been on a football card craze the past 6 months or so.
04:40 - Ron "Louisiana Lightning" / "Gator" Guidry sighting! 09:02 - Jeff Reardon had 367 saves with a 19.2 WAR, 2000 Hall of Fame ballot only received 4.8%, just one vote short of staying on the list for 2001. Gooden & Davis, classic examples of "What Could Have Been."
I think I pulled a Reardon rookie card from 82 earlier this year. Very good, borderline HOF candidate IMO. I remember him on the Twins. And agreed on Gooden and Davis. Davis more so for injuries than bad behavior lol. Dude was a beast!
I don't think you heard me correctly. I said that Murphys card in psa 10 has sold for over 200. The average psa 10 was actually trending over 200 dollars. This is on a 12 month average of sold cards. I never said mine was a 10 just a comparison. Just looking back the last two sales of psa10 brought the average which was over 200 in July at the time of the show down to 140.
