25 years of smoking more or less all day, every day. Wake and bake expert (Yah, I’m not proud). The sheer amount of time, energy and money spent on this sickness since I started as a teenager is astounding. I convinced myself that because I was doing well in life, I could continue down this path even though it was doing an enormous amount of damage. I’ve known for quite a while that it wasn’t serving me anymore, but found it incredibly difficult to move on. After my mother passed from cancer a few months ago I fell into a pit of smoking so much I damn near lost my mind. I finally hit a wall. I broke down and weeped like a child, asking for help from above to overcome this. It’s been 1 week sober and I feel like a new person. My productivity is through the roof, my eating and appetite is normalizing. My mood is considerably more stable and even keeled. I’m a musician and always equated weed with creativity, which I know is a trap that many fall into. I’ve actually done more musically in the past week than months prior being high. My focus and brain power seems tenfold from where it was before. I’ve thrown out all my flower and ridiculous amount of smoking accessories. I feel FREE for the first time in nearly 20 years. I can’t tell you how unbelievable it is to be high on life. My younger self would have cringed at that statement, the older me finds it quite enjoyable. For those folks in the same boat as me. Stay strong, meditate, exercise and find a way to fill your days with activities and people you love, and who will support you. It’s an uphill battle but it does get easier with every day. I feel absolutely blessed to be clear minded and present finally. It’s a life changing experience!

@@mike311miller Thanks, Michael! Now up to almost 7 months without smoking and it's been one of the best decisions of my life. My relationship with my wife is much improved and I'm just feeling way more balanced and emotionally stable. I never realized how snippy and irritable I was when high until stopping!! Life is so much simpler and easier, without constantly thinking about getting high, buying more weed, etc etc. We took a trip to Iceland a couple months ago, and normally I would have been stressing about not having anything with me, but no worries this time and it was an amazing trip just being out in nature! Good luck to you as well. You've got to start somewhere and it's not an easy road, but definitely the right one.

congrats! i'm in the same boat. i have a very similar story. my mom died last year and while i didn't smoke more afterwards, the weed just made the grief so much worse. like you i thought there's no need to cut or stop because i'm doing stuff. i'm also a musician and was used to getting high before the creative process because i thought it would enhance it. the truth is it was an excuse because i would consume either way. all these lies are so convenient "i need it to make music/i need it to eat/i need it for my depression" these are all excuses. todays morning i looked in the mirror and for the first time in years i saw a happy man smiling instead of a deadeyed, depressed fuck up. i still got a long way to go, but it's been a long time since i was actually excited about living. being sober is pretty awesome! wishing you the best of luck on your route to sobriety!

You use it because of past and current trauma…..yet…..it will keep you in that trauma forever, not moving on. The first week of quitting is hell! Hot showers, video games, and cooking will help. I wasted 30 years smoking pot, honestly one of the worst drugs I have took, took plenty of recreational drugs for fun but weed really gripped a hold of me and wasted so much of my life. I have now moved on but for some, it’s a real addiction.

20 year old dad and time is something I’ve really found to be the most important thing in the world. before my baby was born I just felt on top of the world thinking I’d have all this extra time to peruse what I want. I ended up smoking a lot of weed and just watch yt,ph, and scroll Reddit all day, it was terrible. I felt so empty on the inside because I was letting my urges control my life. Months before my baby was born (18 at the time) I argued with the mother a lot and selfishly felt that what I was doing was what peak life is. She obviously made some really good points and so I went to yt for help. I found channels like Ali abdaal, mike shake and charisma on command to really improve myself. After my beautiful baby girl was born I learned what I truly want in life is to spend as much time with her as I can but also learn and improve myself everyday for me and my new family. Weed takes that time away from her and puts me back on same shitty time waisting routine and it’s really the only drug now stopping me from really enjoying quality time with her. I guess I say this to say time is important and limited so make sure you’re spending it how you want and have a good reason behind it.

I highly suggest avoiding cold turkey!! I was forced to quit because the withdrawal onset was so traumatic, and unexpected... I was too scared to smoke again (still am 50 days later, and going through PAWS). I only smoked for about a year before I quit, and the reason I was hit by withdrawal is because my cart ran out.

i see a lot of people around me in their mid 30s to mid 40s that, like me, wasted a lot of time procrastinating their plans because of daily smoking. you'll end up thinking a lot about cool shit that you never do. then you realize you are approaching middle age as an addict to a substance you defended in front of others and, most importantly, yourself. and that you haven't done anything on your bucket list. all the money goes into weed. vacations are skipped out of fear of non availability and lack of money. little to no development in professional life because the perma stoned mindset makes you complicit in your own standstill. i love weed, but daily use or use throughout the whole day just sucks. i have a lot of friends that still smoke, but for years we haven't even smoked together, because i feel like we are all embarassed about it. and they all have problems getting their stuff done in the end. if you can't moderate, quit. i could have legit bought a plot of land or a house with the money i spend on weed through out my life. i wouldn't have spend years poor and stressed out. most of my 20s and early 30s, basically peak ability, i wasted that all. i'll never get it back.

I have stopped smoking it completely. On November 14, 2022. I just found myself doing the same thing over and over again. It convinces you to sit there and do nothing. You have these great ideas. But you never follow through on them. Unfortunately I have gone from smoking it to eating it. I do plan to quit that next. But It’s slow going. Eating it is much more therapeutic. I know I can quit. But I have to go slow. I don’t plan to buy anymore. I will quit my awesome stash. I usually only do it on the weekends. Kind of a reward. But it’s probably that same thought process that continues to keep me where I am. My lungs feel better. Now I just have to wean my body off it slowly but surely. Probably February will be my day one. As I have about six cans of the stuff left. And I usually do it on the weekends. Friday or Saturday. I also have to be in the right mind space. Thank you for this video.

I take one off for every day sober and I put them in the clear plastic box they came in. Moderation is king. With the vapes nowadays, you don’t have to smoke a whole blunt, bowl, joint to be high. Personally, I’ve grown up in a household where all drugs were readily available and you somehow develop the skill of discipline and control. Yes, these drugs can be addictive. I smoke like 1 to 3 hits of the vape a day which barely gets you high and I am still in full control. Of course this is after my day is over and I have some free time to myself. You hit it once, see how high it gets you, couple hours later, again. These drugs will always be around, you can learn to reap the benefits like caffeine, even alcohol has some benefits. Control is key, if you have a problem, you should quit and I salute the people that have quit as well. Just a different perspective.

@@MaricianDedeauxBrown yes! He was an addict of multiple substances, including cannabis and overcame his addictions. I also am a cannabis addict and smoked all day everyday for 11+ years. It tremendously lowered my motivation and kept me from my highest potential. It became chasing a high that was never going to come and really just bringing me lower and lower. Im not 3 months sober and feeling so much better! I have more motivation and energy then I’ve had ever before.

I watch quit videos when I'm stoned to understand the thc bug better. Smart guy is what k states mechanical engineering cop warned about. Faith before practice! Dmitri was a smart guy. Paul Smith is a smart guy activist. Look at how Paul Smith smartly sits at his computer cyberharassing people who believes are unworthy of his chemistry curriculum.

Life is so much better. I quit smoking weed after smoking everyday for five years and I am 26. I was wasting my potential. Now I have two jobs and I am finishing up school. The last year I have made a lot of gains in lots of areas. I lost some time and I am making up for it. Weed is not worth it.
