Ok. I am a student of all the RU-vid “advice” channels. Let me preface this by saying that I am s Boomer, and that I have been reco/ding/mixing/mastering since 1976. I have actually done all thud on s high level, but I “retired” from anything folks would consider legitimate 20 years ago. I have a home studio now where I record vanity records for regional acts, and quality backing tracks for my solo act. My issue with the RU-vidrs is that there is nothing out there for my niche. Hip-Hop, Modern Pop, Rap-they are all well covered by all of you, but nothing for the rest of us. I guess I should consider starting my own “recording/mixing/mastering” channel for those of us who could not care less about the latest hip hop mixing video. All that said, I want you to know that, with all my experience, I believe you are one of the elite creators. I have never disagreed with your content, and I have actually learned a few things along the way. David, I can only imagine the difficulty you face with searching for new content! Gotta be hard, lol. You are doing much better than a lot of RU-vidrs I follow. Take a step back if you need to. Don’t burn out. We will understand. I see so many RU-vidrs posting these idiotic “I am burned out and quitting RU-vid” videos. Most of the, of course, have never had a REAL job…. lol. Mommy’s basement can get really stuffy. I digress. You keep up whatever the magic you are doing.

Hey David, thank you for another great video. One question, theres's a lot of mixing engineers that recommend to mix at really low volume. I've tried it but it never works for me. I've done the same mix twice (loud and quiet), the quiet mix sounds harsh on most playback systems that i own. The loud one (85 to 90 DB) translated really well to the other systems i have. Am i doing something wrong? I would really like to mix at low volume. Thank you for all the knowledge you share with us.

No you're not. It really is personal preference and what monitors you have. Generally speaking monitors that perform well at very low volume are quite expensive, it's much cheaper (for manufacturers) to achieve a "flat" response at the level you indicated. But mostly is preference. I do mix at very low volume but I'm not sure I could do the same if I didn't have the mains I have

Those filters smoke any filter u can Tey they are phenomenal and transparent Fabien is crazy together with Dave Gamble they are the guys owning digital audio innovation rest are money grabbers .
