@@chazbo2672 shouldn't have been. The refs were cheating all night for SMU. Especially the last PI call that set up SMU's field goal that tied it 37-37. Most horsesh*t call I've ever seen.

He's playing better for SMU than he ever did for OU. Which makes me wonder how good of a coach Riley really is.... he's been blessed with naturally gifted QB's since his career at OU started. The only one he had to build from the bottom is Rattler, and look where Rattler is now. Lol

In fairness, they had a left kick defense on and the kicker booted it right down the middle.

Maybe, but that would have left the Coogs w/ :30 (and a timeout to work with) only needing to pick up 25-30 yards for a shot at a game winning fg. If, otoh, SMU's kicker had placed the ball where he was supposed to Jones probably doesn't bring it out.

Defense yes, but special team ehh debatable. A touchdown return, ting field goal. I believe the game could’ve gone both ways but UH was more explosive on offense and stronger on defense then SMU. Special team was probably a tie. Both have up TD return.

@@Tekevin but the SMU special teams got a extra point blocked that was key moment in the game as well

@@navyvet7138 They lost more than by a point… even if they made the extra point it wouldn’t have matter much. It might have brought down the team energy but they was good enough to catch back up. The extra point was block yes, but it had little impact on the overall game, maybe had a big impact at the moment but not the overall.

​@@Tekevin That was definitely the difference in the game. SMU coaches crapped their pants with 35 seconds left and called a timeout for no reason even though they had the rest of the play clock to go. Everyone in the stadium was so confused. With that extra point in hand, that field goal would have won the game with time expiring and no kickoff return opportunity. As the Navy guy said, key moment in the game was the blocked extra point even though we didn't know it at the time.

SMU did not lose this game Houston won it. They are the better team.

The game was pretty close and SMU would've won if the coaching wasn't so bad. Recent Texas Tech job news might've gotten to sonny's head it seems

SMU was rated about right. They just lost to us on homecoming and we were playing good. Close game and we beat a good team. I couldn't be happier.

@@symetz yeah exactly... not to take anything away from UH but let's be honest: SMU's defense was bad, special teams literally threw the game, and we were having trouble snapping the ball.... SMU's coaching was atrocious this week and I really hope I can see another SMU-UH match-up where BOTH team are playing good and are focused (and not distracted by other new coaching jobs openings *cough* *cough*)
