In this video we demonstrate how to use our SMUGs over SM-11 White Satin Matte!
SMUGs (Semi-Moist Underglazes) are intense, opaque colors which are especially good for watercolor effects and painting of fine detail. Semi-Moist Underglazes are packaged in pans, like watercolors. Use water and brush to apply.

Did you say you can use satin Matt clear under the smugs like the white?????

Do you paint the SMUGs on SM-11 after the 3 layers of SM-11 are dried, or do you fire the SM-11 to cone 5 and then paint on the SMUGs? Thanks!

I paint the SMUGs on the SM-11 when it's dry but unfired. ~Cara

Is it better to layer the SMUGs or to premix to the desired color and apply? Thanks!

Hi there, the SMUGs work like watercolors so you can premix them to get the desired color. But for other effects you can layer them on top of eachother; however, they won't mix as well by layering them on top of each other.
