The Snæfellsnes peninsula is magical and considered by many to be one of the power points of the earth. I used to drive regularly from Reykjavík to Stykkishólmur. Driving over the high ground in winter was sometimes challenging. There seems very little snow there for that time of year.
Jewels, nice to see you and mom enjoying a girls day out in beautiful Snaefellsnes Peninsula. I was there November 2021 not much of snow too. But the drive was long and boring. We did see the Kirkjufell Mountain ("Arrowhead mountain" filmed in 'Game of Thrones'), many waterfalls and the beautiful wild horses. They were very friendly. There was only one small restaurant open for lunch, the whole bus load of about 30 crammed in to this one room House type restaurant to try their 'Lamb Soup'. They had to water it down to give every one a taste 😜. So must take snacks, coffee and sandwiches next time. Enjoy your Vlogs of this beautiful country. 🙏 Very best to Mom, Gunnar and self.💐
I would be interested in a video about how your impression about living in Iceland has changed since you first moved. Maybe what you initially disliked and now like and visa versa, culturally or otherwise.
Love the roads & landscape, often when I explain to people about driving in the winter darkness on country roads in Iceland. I have some almost wrecked the car stories , I just haven’t been able to stress the level of darkness due to no streetlights. Safe travels ❤
@@AllThingsIceland I worked at hotel Hellnar one summer . so spent lots of time in the peninsula. there is a great place for cake and coffee by the sea next to the hotel. miss all things Icelandic so much but my life is great back at home ...
Krikjufell (at Grundarfjörður) mountain and other mountains (outside of the new volcanoes on Snæfellsnes peninsula) are what remains of an old plateau that existed there some 5 to 10 million years ago. That's why they are flat at the top, were erosion has not removed that part. This can be seen clearly if satellite images images are viewed of this area.

Jewells, I've enjoyed all the videos of yours that I've watched, especially the ones with your mom. We're also a mother and daughter duo that adore Iceland (and also both vegan). Really liked your video about Veganbudin and would love to see one about some of the amazing vegan restaurants and cafés in Reykjavik. I think Vegan World Peace is my fave restaurant ever!
