Giving you the inside scoop on Icelandic nature, culture, history and language through the eyes of an expat living in the country. Jewells Chambers is the host of the All Things Iceland podcast and RU-vid channel.
I'm Portuguese and i speak fluently Icelandic, i guess that the problem is the fact that you feel so unique speaking language that is almost virtual dead
Bellissimo! Vorrei visitare l'Islanda.
Wow! Thank you for sharing. I see this was a year ago but have to tell you how deeply it touched me. I love your videos and have been watching them since before my visit to Iceland in 2022. Not to be nosey but my first thought was that your husband wanted more of your attention. Probably because that is what happened to me. Regardless of the details, its important not to place blame or hold on to anger . It looks like you already figured that out. I am proud of you and sorry for your loss but good things will come your way. You are strong, beautiful and shine like a star. Keep up the good work.
Thanks so much for the helpful info i just stumbled on your channel. Weird question but were you at Kermóafoss the waterfall outside Reykjavik two weeks ago ? I was just in Iceland for the first time 2 weeks back and my last day there i saw someone who looked exactly like you filming a video on a drone.

I just bought an apartment downtown... for 88 mil ISK.. In its half of the size :D (640k USD). Its 80sqm2, no ocean view. For this apartment today you can ask around 100-120mil?
You are so thoughtful with what and how to present helpful information. Also very charming and impressive pronunciations (from what I can tell).. :) Thanks for sharing!
I just saw this video, it’s a while since you told is about your separation. I am very sorry, but in my experience: there is always a reason and life gets usually better than it was before. All the very best to you. Thank you for your interesting and informative videos. Would be nice to have a coffe one day 🤗
On my bucket list ! I was actually looking for instructions on knitting these sweaters and, lo and behold, I found your channel ! Great to learn more about life in Iceland ‼️
Hey Jewell's catching up with you again. I first started watching you in 2021. You always make Iceland sound sooooo exciting! I'll definitely want to look you up when and if I should ever visit Iceland. (I'd never even thought about it before until viewing your videos) 🤗
Dogs should be banned. They injure millions every year. Given that they are really just a luxury item, it's not worth having them in outside of farms or work use.
European driving rules are mostly sign-based - they don't have as many street lights except in particularly busy areas. There's a sign that means "main road" - it's like a yellow diamond with a white outline, if you see it, that means your road is the main one and does not need to yield to other roads. If you don't see it, assume your road needs to yield. The sign discussed here (red cross on a blue background) is like a full version sign and she is correct, you cannot stop there even temporarily - no stopping, parking, or standing where that sign is present - there's a half version of it too, which is basically the same red circle with a blue background and ONE red line across it diagonally (i.e. missing the second stick that would make it a cross) and THAT sign means specifically no parking, however you can stop and the general rule of thumb is as long as the engine is still running, you can stay there. I.e. that sign would indicate an area where you can load/unload, pick up or drop off passengers, or just stop to check a map or something - as long as you don't turn the car off and get out of it, you're good.
I loved Iceland when I visited in may 2024. People were wonderful, warm and friendly. Never an issue. I'm a black male from Detroit. I feel as if Iceland could be my home too. I'm retired and free to go any where on planet Earth. Thank goodness I visited Iceland. Hang in there and know that people love you. I plan to return to Iceland soon. peace
Wish we had those. People will still just STOP here even if there's a lane like that to go around someone turning left. Not sure why you wouldn't just quadruple the length of it and give a left turning lane at that point, but whatever.
