You can always get lure back on a Boat. Bank Fishers, will usually lose lure, when it's in a bad angle. I've had to sgo swimming a few times for a "hot" Lure that the fish are biting on.
If you go to Home depot pick up a bag of shower curtain clips there cheap. Use 6 to 8 oz bell weights put one on the clip get over to the plug snap the clip on your line let it drop down on the plug bounce up and down. 9 out of 10 times you got your plug back. Cheap and it works.
Another very cheap retriever is a simple D shackle with a couple sinkers tied to it and drop it down on your mainline with a string attached and knock it off the snag.
Just lost about 100 feet of line and a brand new $50 spinner bait… If you snag and manage to retrieve your lure, make sure to check the fishing lines condition.
First video I've ever seen have someone getting their lower back with lure retriever thank you dude it's the things like that it counts on a fishing trip
I made mine. Zip tie and big swivel with 2 big 2ounce sinkers tied on the closed side of swivel and the part you open you put your line in, shut it and let it slide down to your bait and knock it free. Just use the swivel part and cut the rest of the swivel off. Most use 1 sinker but I use 2 of them
Do these work from the bank though? I have a telescoping lure retriever that i dont carry with me anymore because it was just too heavy and most snags were too far out to get them back.
Most likely no. The main idea is to get over top of the snag so you can drop straight down to it. Best bet for you would be the bow and arrow technique.
That lure retriever is a piece of garbage. Buy one with the cork screw type that goes on the line. That one will fall apart. The knob for the reel is about a 1/4 inch long.
Put it on the right side of your line (keeping your line taut) with the PK chains down and the PK line up. Just snap it on to the coil. I wish I could show you, but once you've done it a couple of times in your garage it will become second nature.
