Snake (MGS1) Variety Mode level 3 MGS 2 HD VR Missions Part 70 

That's called difficulty scaling. The missions prior are meant to build your skills to bring you here, to get a feel for more real combat.

I totally forgot I wrote this. I eventually beat this mission and every other mission to achieve the Platinum trophy. I just get grumpy after I start losing a bunch lol. I don't think there is a natural scaling in this game though. It's 95% very easy missions and 5% tough missions and most of the tough ones are near the end. There is no in between.

@J. D. they didn't do as well as the original VR missions. No missions with a wacky taste in them, like, blowing up one soldier with a grenade and then kills the rest of the soldiers by collision.

The strategy in this video allowed me to do it on my second go. So easy! It took me 300+ attempts (literally) to be beat the sniper mission before this one, though :(

@@johnnyw525 That sniper mission was by far the hardest one. I beat it once and since then never went back to it

Man. I’m at 72 hrs right now and stuck on this and hold up mode. A part of me says I suck but apart of me says “you’re a true soldier for doing multiple hrs of VR MISSIONS” lol

I wish I had owned a vita when I did those videos, or at least, had given an update when I did. I double platinum’d mgs2 and 3.

Nowadays, whenever we can't figure out how to get pass a certain part of a game, all we need is to RU-vid it for the solution. The thing about VR is, at the time when they were first released, we literally have to figure out every stage on our own, unless we have friends who can hint us. There were, at the most, tips only in the form of words plus a few still pictures on the web to help. I still recall the days when I spent weeks just on beating the ultimate MGS1 [VR mission] stage (the one that requires us to get through 10 consecutive stages), it would only take me days to practice the skills nowadays, without having to figure out each step along the way. The MGS1 and 2 VRs were demanding on skills but definitely more on our thinking. And if one thinks MGS1 VR is a 5 stars difficulty, MGS2 pushes it to 100 stars

You're not wrong. When it comes to stuff like Snake Tales, where you're not provided a radar in a game with a fixed camera in tight spaces, it all comes down to memorizing enemy patrol patterns; i.e. trial and error. It's not fun.

@@kasaioni7680 I actually like Snake Tales (despise being exactly what you said). But I actually like it because I don't get shoved with an unskipable "mission failed" screen every 20 seconds because of one minor mistake (i.e. when you're doing hold-up mode in VR you can't get spotted nor shoot, and if you do is instant fail while in S.T. I can shoot them with M4, Stingers, SOCOM, etc. And not get punished at all by it).

Steven Newell because he can continue to target with the left stick after firing the stinger; you don't have to just sit there and lock on

After you lock on with the stinger and fire it the missile will not only travel farther, but you can immediately unequip the stinger and the misslie will still follow it's target.

Steven Newell in this particular part, the target disappears and reappears. You can't lock on when it's not visible, and it doesn't remain visible long enough to both lock on and hit it. I just fired in its general direction and kept aiming on it so the missile would hit it once visible.

You can just use the transfarring feature and automatically get all the trophies that way. I got my plat before that feature was available and had to start a new save as a result, but I did my vita plat playing ps3

Screaming Pink i dont have my platinumed save on the ps3 anymore... So bo chance to transfer the trophies...

You can still just play it all on PS3 and transfar your saves tho

REVOLVER-BOSS-27 that is not always the case. Try taking in the harrier on extreme difficulty. Locking on before firing is unnecessary, and depending on difficulty, is not wise

Screaming Pink I do, I fight the harrier in European Extreme and u get more of a chance on hitting it if you lock on first

same here, the MGS1 snake part was mostly a motherfucking hell. i just finished this mission and got the trophy, but i will dissent saying the fucking sniper mission took me like a whole week to accomplish it. this gave me more frustration and anger than the pleasure of completing it.
