I picked up a used Snap On TF36 Ratchet with they hope it just needed a good cleaning, But in order to refresh it, I embarked on an hours long adventure. I didn't want to invest more money into this ratchet a new rebuilt kit, but I just couldn't get it back together. A tiny steel ball had to be balanced on the end of an equally tiny spring while compressed and while the rest of the ratchet's guts were inserted back into its belly. Turns out it is impossible without a tool.
So after finally giving up and heading to RU-vid, I found one video that helped, but there was a special tool needed that I didn't have. So I built one.
Overall it was a lot of fun as long as frustration can be enjoyable. But I wanted to avoid buying both a tool and/or a rebuild kit.
