I am tracking 11 songs on a project that calls for light, mellow grooves and percussion elements right now so this seemed like a good time to make a lesson on this subject! Adapting our instrument and technique to what the music needs is key! Sometimes this will also come up when playing a small room, playing for church, playing with strings and pianos, unplugged rehearsals, etc. It’s always good to be prepared with these tools!

Great tips thanks Eric, I use the dampening rings on my kit, actually did it by mistake one day whilst changing heads. Sat an old head on my floor tom, hit it and loved it😁 Thanks mate keep up the great work👍
