Mark's playing throughout this entire set is completely and totally mind blowing. By FAR my favorite guitarist right now; if not ever. What a freaking force of nature! (The rest of the band is just as good too, and has only improved since this show too, which boggles my goddamn mind)
A true fretboard wizard! Sincere to his skills just laying it down with consummate dynamics, note selection, phrasing and tone... Would love to see a collaboration with Eric Gales...
I'm a massive larnell fan for the intensity and technicality he brought to the band, but there's something about sput's effortless groove and chops that just blows my mind
I had seen them once or twice in Greenville before this show, but this is the one where I realized that these guys were the future of instrumental music
As far as bands go, I gotta say, SNARKY PUPPY is the BEST band I've heard beside EWF and the Ohio Players. These guys are just straight up AWESOME!!!!!
You ever feel like really truthfully that for some reason, even though you know you can't, you feel like you could play along if your computer desk was a piano? Am I the only one?
Thanks dude, I loved this particular show when I first heard it in 2016. I still keep coming back every week. I like the warmer filter too; or am I just imagining things...?
Im probably responsible for like 20% of the views on this video 😂😂 The original studio versions are greatly engineered masterpieces, but there's something about this Asheville versions that just capture the very essence of everything I love about Snarky, and it keeps me coming back here, over and over again, endlessly repeating it for years now. Thank you for this Barry2theB! If I may ask, what colour is the Fender that Mark Lettieri used here?
What was happening with Mark at the end of the solo just before Flood? Seemed like somebody in the crowd was jeering his tasteful ambient tones and then he played some generic rock guitar thing in protest to the jeers..? Hilarious moment; like “oh you want skynyrd? Ok here it is. Ok, Fuck it I’m starting Flood” 😂😂😂😂
The ones I was able to see: Michael League - bass Robert "Sput" Searight - drums Mark Lettieri - Guitar Jay Jennings - trumpet Cory Henry - keyboards Justin Stanton - keyboards, trumpet Chris Bullock - saxophone
