To me, this scene defines the uncanny genius of Guy Ritchie. That he takes two separates strands of the plot and weaves them together into this absolutely funky sequence.
He is quite brilliant. One scene in Game of Shadows is easily one of the most brilliant in cinematic history: running through the forest to catch a train.
@@fatihhicdonmez8579 Am a screenwriter myself and written enough crosscuts. But usually the scenes getting stitched together have some manifest link of plot or emotion that you are amplifying through the crosscut. The genius I am referring to here is in the "discovery" of this potential crosscut of two otherwise-informational scenes.
@@TheRecluseJanitor Correction. You are the only bad moment, right here and right now. Treason to 'Snatch' Is a capital offence. Youre having a Giraffe. (Laugh) Know what I mean Spencer? Orwight. 😊
I worked with a Pikey in Egypt for two years, best pool hustler I’ve ever seen, played with him nightly, never understood more than two words he said to me, just nodded and smiled as he destroyed every guy ever at the table.
Pram De Rooy 1 thing I heard him say was '' save your breath and cool your porridge '' and '' I like to look after me ma'' and '' its a fair deal take it''
He's a Traveller. If you were really Irish, you'd know that your comment was a load of sh*te lol. Irish Travellers are a distinct ethnic group with linguistic distinctions from Irish-English to the point that it might even be classified as its own language (like Scots is compared to British English, rather than a dialect). Comment was probably written by an Irish-American whose great-great-great-great grandfather's barber's cousin slept with a woman from Co. Wicklow.
Soo true, I understand every word....but hey, I've been brought in ballana...and bunniconlan. Always catch up with family, I n charles town...(first stop outa knock)....sorry about me spellin, I'm shite...lol.
When the dog jumps up at him (1:37), it doesn't look like that was scripted. Looks like the dog was just doing random stuff as dogs do, but rather than stopping and asking for a 2nd take, he improvises and stays in character so well that the scene turned out better than if it had gone to plan. That's some impressive acting.
When the dog makes that howl at Mickey, I feel like his reaction was genuine lol like it took him by surprise. Great improv by Brad.. Stays in character lol
- On you buying this caravan. Not the rouge one, the rose - Turkish, the fight is twice the size. And me ma still needs a caravan. I like to look after me ma. It's a fair deal. Take it. - Ah, save your breath for cooling your porridge. Now, look... - She wants the Hector-2 roof lights, uh... the stylish ash-framed furniture and the scatter cushions with the matching shag pile covering. Right. And she's terrible partial to the periwinkle blue, boys. Have I made myself clear, boys?
huh i just realized that little part where the dog startles him and he says "fooker" was surely completely improvised.. shows how well he had gotten the character with those mannerisms and his speech
snatch and lock, stock and barrels are definitely the 2 best movies of all time... i watched snatch at least 50 times maybe more, and i am thinking just now to play it yet again... there is no a single weak character in the movie, they are all brilliant, a thing not seen since fellini
@@garymct6860 Yep. They are all over England too and further afield, all the way to Oceana. I grew up around many Traveller families in SE England and knew of a major site in South London and they all spoke in Traveller dialect even though they spent much of their time in Peckham haha. Although the settled Travellers I knew all had English accents but did use a lot of Traveller words/lingo.
Yeah it was one of those unscripted moments where it made the final cut. Like when Leo DiCaprio smashed that glass in Jango and cut his hand and he rubbed his blood over his co star. Not scripted but made it.
It was due to one of the actors standing on one of the dogs feet that caused that scene but to make it more realistic they never cut it out they used it in the film as u see now 👍👍👍 ps if it were my hare dog running that day the hare would have been PROPER fucked well and truly 👍👍😉😉👊👊💯💯☝️☝️
Manuel David Rendon Acevedo no, he even lived with Irish travellers for a while to try and learn the accent. To be fair his Irish accent is better than 90% of Americans
Looking back i think its a great movie because of the cast. Each character has enough on screen time to develop their own arc and also killer dialog like tarantino. This scene is also epic
Impromptu scene 1:40 Brad accidentally steps on the dag's paw and the dag screams and startles Brad. Brad in return calls the dag a "Fucker". But because Brad played it so cool Guy left it in.
This is how to tell a story on film! Direction, performance, editing and photography don't get any better than this, especially the editing. Guy Ritchie had a dream team of actors to work with to relate a complicated plot, which is done with ease.
Back in the day I just bought the DVD and me and my man wanted to watch it on my friends PSX 2. But he was jealous that we were chillin out so he wouldn't give me the pin for his playstation. Brett!! It was during a snow storm in Northen VA. He eventually came around and this was the just chilinin movie to throw on in the background. Good times great movie. Seen it so many times I can't handle it anymore.
One of the funniest parts of this is the fact that he offered to do the fight for free since he was going to bet on himself anyway. Either way he was going to get the caravan, this was just to milk a bit more out of them.
always was my fav scene of the movie. brick tops gangters chasing tyrone, and stuffing him in the trunk of the jag. my parents had a jag just like that, and my dad always complained over the small trunk. not so small after all if they fit tyrone in there, but I'm pretty sure he was outside of it when they closed it, otherwise he'd be fucking squashed.
My beautiful, amazing, wonderful, special lady is from a traveller family. There's a lot of love for Brad. When I got shot and ended up in prison after some stupid false charges that I robbed a 'bank' my wonderful wife to be, her family did so much for me.. Its all about family and kin and love. Bless Brad
+Dušan said his ma wants perwinkle blue Caravan not the rouge one save your breath to cool your porage (oatmeal) and dont forget the shag carpet to match
