for whatever reason, this has made me think of how cool it would be to have hybrid style legacy figures, like a prime that looks like idw in robot mode but turns into a long nose truck and has bayverse accessories and combines with his trailer to make a super mode that has hybridised elements of all the unicron trilogy super modes
@Liam Kirk Loved Transformers Prime, also reason for Earthspark Prime cause he maintains the G1 Body form while having the alt form of a long nose truck, Aligned Continuity Prime more resembles the Bayverse Prime with slick features, Earthspark Prime like said could resemble IDW Prime with a few design changes, but your point is quite valid.
I respect that some people like simple transformations, but I personally love how some transformers figures also act as puzzles! I like it when they have long complex transformations, as long as it's solid in both modes.
I love that sort of hybrid look its got, it definetly suits the figure. I do agree though that the paint applications could have been done a bit better. Imagine this guy with a battle damaged paint job. Edit) also, 8:07 Prime looking fabulous
Would very much love to get more official IDW inspired figures! Blurr was incredible, Tarn looks very nice, so I'd love to finally get an Optimus and Megatron based on their more iconic IDW designs after so long!
honestly, as someone who likes more complex transformations as I enjoy the process, this looks fun! And I'm sure this will be stronger than the Studio Series 49 Bumblebee and those godawful transparent plastic doors
I really like the idea of a main line scale figure with an extremely complex transformation but I wish it had better tolerances, clearances, and maybe a few less slider joints...
@@PrimeVsPrime Yea, I can understand them putting complex transformations in a figure of this scale but only if they result in some great looking alt or bot mode but, neither mode has anything spectacular that makes it worth it. This figure looks almost the same as most and they could have achieved the same look with way more simple transformations! 🤷🏻♂️ 🤦🏻♂️ 🤖❤️‼️
I just recently got into collecting TF stuff and I'm currently torn between this, Earthrise, POTP, and the scaled down MP-10 knockoff for what I want for G1 Prime.
For me. I just hope we get a G1 Megatron of this scale as well since now im attatched to love this figure because how articulated, poseable and fun to have around. Ps: maybe a 3rd party G1 optimus prime in the voyager scale with some best posebility while having the ability to transform
This figure, in all brutal honesty, blows away the Combiner Wars voyager class Optimus Prime out of the water. Also, need more voyager class third parties.
Tbh if it’s only the transformation I’m fine with that, I really don’t like transforming even tho i still do it, glad I saw the review he looks really good sadly he sold out today on show Z, he was in stock earlier 12 hours ago
I got mine today. Yeah, transformation is not fun an it won’t be replacing MP10V on my display but at the same time I’m glad I didn’t miss out on this guy
I would go hunting, he got a reissue in Kingdom which is ER in different packaging, the ER is the best mainline Optimus to date, so look online to get him!
THE ONE! At High Noon, for one minute he becomes the manifestation of Masterpiece transformations inside a deluxe class body! Jokes aside, I still think he's a very cool Not-Optimus Prime, and I hope that SND will revisit this a bit in the future to make it slightly better, because as it is, it looks like the clearences aren't exactly right in some steps.
Front/top transforms almost like Siege Prime's which seems pretty fine. Legs seem to be overengineered, I see some SS-38 inspirations here, which is not compliment. Price is like... Well, it's at the current leader class price point, add shipping costs, customs fees and VAT and we're probably at commander class price point :(.
Call me weird but get great enjoyment out of Difficult transformations. Voyager Battle Blades Optimus Prime from ROTF/DOTM was one of my favorite figures to fiddle with. I look forward to getting this.
It's not that I don't like the complexity of the transformation myself. I just don't like when they use hinges that make the figure split into 2 peices when transforming.
I'm okay with transformers having complex transformations *to a point.* I've seen transformers figure with less steps or fiddly parts, yet their alt modes have no kibble at all. The designers really could've made the transformation more simple and still have a robot and alt mode with virtually no kibble.
I feel like the top half of the transformation is okay, though it is definitely complex. However, those legs seem WAY too complex. All the shifting and sliding parts look potentially fragile, and it doesn't even look good in either robot or truck mode. Overall, the figure seems alright, but I think I'll have to wait and see if any other mainline scale IDW primes show up.
The only thing I dislike about this is that its a Volvo flat nose truck which, at least to me, don't look good. It was fine with the Holiday Prime but thats because it was a long nose that actually looked like a previous rendition of Optimus
I was so excited when this figure was first revealed, but then when news about the transformation and how easy those internal armatures break at the slightest error, I just couldn't justify spending the asking price on it. It's a shame because this is my favorite IDW Optimus design, but both third party figures of it, Beelzeboss's CW Prime upgrade kit and SND's figure, are both just so problematic.
