About the PUMAs ammo belt at 10:07. I think he can keep firing even when you hit his belt because that thing doesn't actually have any physical ammo modules to hit when you have 2 belts or less left (One loaded, one spare). This means if you spawn a PUMA with only 2 belts nobody can hit your ammo. All this of course is unless Gaijin fixed it but the video tells me they probably didn't.

Btw the weird problems locking isn't the height as much as the angle, I encounter the same locking issues all the time in the a-10 but usually have no issues as soon as I clear ~4-6km height which let's me get a more flat view of the targets and that usually makes things work smoothly

use the sight stabilization key to unlock target and it wont reset your view, also, make sure to lock on with the targetting pod with the activate targetting point key before launching maverick, so it will always lock the correct target. Also, dont bother with the single dumb bomb on the center, it adds weight and make it harder to climb to space

Gaijin should add a reserve vehicle that’s just a motorcycle and sidecar, and the passenger has an anti tank rifle. It’d still probably be better than French reserve tanks lol

I played for the first time yesterday the new “tunnel map”. Hope to see a fight from our favorite Scotsman with some interesting vehicles. The map itself looks made for long distance engagement though. Lots of open space.

As a Japan main, I just wish we had something like this or something able to counter this. The Type 93 is fun, but it’s not enough for 11.0.

I do this same thing, but with the PGM bombs on the Tornado GR.1. It's the only way I know to even stand a chance against Pantsirs, and even then, they still out-range me, and usually shoot me down before I can even find a target, all for an SP cost of only 70.

Hey OddBallZ, Good content. Just so you know, you can use thermals with that targeting pod. Also, you can create a better custom loadout by ditching gun you can carry 3 AGMs and 3 GBUs with 4 Aim-9L's. The reason why you were not able to spool a Fox 2 at the end was not having it selected. This happens often when you have to cycle through so many munition types

I hope OddbawZ sees this, I just want to say you are the most entertaining War Thunder RU-vidr I have watched. You don’t pull crazy unbelievable stunts, (*ahem* Phly *ahem* no hate, but still) You’re entertaining, funny, and your quality is top tier. Keep up the amazing work, and it would be cool to see a colab with Bo and his crew, it would be pretty interesting!

As someone who somehow spaded the Black Night before the other Challenger IIs, I can say that it is pretty good. The issues lie with its armor being likely less effective than it is IRL. It is very good in a hull down with it's commander thermals and still relatively armored turret. Unfortunately, it does often pale in comparison to the Leopard 2a5/2a6 which just bounce or eat things seemingly randomly (and some Russian tanks that have trolly ERA). Overall, it's pretty good but still less unrealistically braindead compared to what you see with Germany and Russia. I think its top speed is perfectly good, but the acceleration and traverse are pretty bad and are what truly cripple the tank in many situations (still much better than the other Challenger IIs though). The Harrier GR. 7 is very good, especially in the air to air role and while it's CAS ability is VERY good, it's still artificially nerfed by a lack of certain implementations/bugs/unintuitive mechanics for the sights. At night (with the thermal mod), I still can't lock onto anyone with the guided bombs and sometime the guidance box for the guided bombs is smaller than others. It feels inconsistent to me, either being really good OR just having a bunch of weird issues that shouldn't be there. As for SPAA, the only thing stopping them from easily killing you is the rendering distance being garbage in WT, so they usually can't physically see me (on radar too) directly above them. This issue goes for drones as well, which immediately spawn within that area.

I agree on the thought that new smoke effects are garbage. Until you're OUT of the smoke, you have full smoke blindness and can't even see what's 5 feet away. It just doesn't work like that.

Wonder if they gave the new harrier the old flight model, and the old one a more toned flight model. The VTOL feels a lot more different.

AIM-54s are great in mixed battles, the enemies think it’s their AA pinging them and don’t even notice the trails coming for them

Question Bawz. At 11:07 you spot an SPAA and immediately begin popping flares. Don’t the flares make your plane’s location stick out more? Or did you see/hear a warning or something. Love the channel bro.

i do this in dcs with the fa18 the only difference is that i rarely use this load so this is pretty much just the baby hornet in war thunder the closest you can get to it currently

I feel like the drones are the high tier pe8 so far I've only had one fly low enough I could shoot it with low tier spaa while it's just bombing everything in site

On top of 10km plus range SAMs that cost 70 points to spawn, the 2S6 and FlaRakRad (among others but these are the 2 best SPAA in game) also get IRST so CAS doesn’t know it is being tracked

Oddie, Yoko ‘ere, I need some advice, is having the ability to switch between primary and secondary weapons really worth it? Or is it better to just set up different key binds for each weapon type? do the nozzles actually function like in real life? a harrier av-8 should be able to hover at a max altitude of around 5000 feet. This may be useful since it is not as fast as for example a viggen, so maybe it can be used in another way in combat and thus have a different strategic advantage

When the missile wasn’t locking in the Japan map it’s because it’s out of the maverick missile field of view. Nothing to do with TIALD pod. The display is bugged in that view as when you ran out of mavs it shows the targeting box at bottom screen for them but not when you have ammo for them. I can effectively sit out of the range of every SPAA in game. You can use the GR7 much more effectively than what’s shown here.

What are your aircraft controls? I'm getting into playing aircraft in ground RB.

I don't understand the logic behind that. If AGM has not the proper zoom in order to optically lock on target, how the targeting pod helps it? Mavericks are optically guided, whether it's thermal or visible light. When firing Maverick, you are directly using optical sensor inside the missile to achieve lock, you can't enhance that by using targeting pod. You could use better zoom of targeting pod to designate the target with the laser and fire laser guided weapon upon it. However, I don't understand how these two different things work with each other, if someone knows, explain please.

Lockheed Martin might have something to say about calling it a Sniper Pod 😉

Go back to some low tier - fun tier stuff. The other challenge for a rank 100 Marshall is to do an arcade game. You are in the mini map for others although you can only see the occasional enemy that is near someone else It went there on the weekend for fun and even took out the Maus - for the comeback win. Had plenty of quick deaths also.

SPAA is cheap to spawn but so is the KA 50 with all its missles that can run down two top tier spaas of their missles per KA and still kill it
