I am using an FG for my braid, it’s the only knot I use to connect braid to my leader. You can’t use an FG tying mono to mono. That’s why I use a double uni to connect them.
The croaker works but they are very fragile, mine got a hit from a small barracuda and took the tail off. I glued the tail of a paddle tail and going to see if it still works.
Ya those cudas tear them up easily. Sometimes if I see lots of cudas around I won’t through them. But that’s what happens with any soft plastic. Hopefully your idea works with the paddle tail.
