Snorkeling in Miami - Biscayne National Park

In this video we go snorkeling at Bache Shoal in Biscayne National Park. This reef is located just east of Elliot Key and south east of Miami. We launched our boat at Black Point marina in Homestead and traveled east across Biscayne Bay. We went past the sandbar and through the creek at Sands cut. Bache shoal is a few miles east of Elliot key. It was loaded with beautiful healthy corals and tropical fish. This was a suprisingly good place to snorkel, it would be a great place to go Scuba diving as well.

Awesome videos mate. Just wanted your opinion on either getting a aqua lung prism set vs a Tusa Visio tri ex or serene set. What brand of the twin would you recommend? They are both roughly the same price in Australia.

Hello! Thanks for watching! I just looked up all three sets you just mentioned, and personally I prefer the Tusa serene. I like 1 window designs so the aqua lung would not work for me. The tusa visio looks pretty good but it has the side bubble windows, I don't think they actually give you any more field of view and they just let in more light that will make you squint. So the tusa serene looks like it would be best for me. Keep in mind I have not tried any of these masks, I am just going off what i see online. Hope that helps!

Hey joe I’m trying my new rig Blackmagic 6k underwater this Sunday down in Miami and I was looking for a healthy and colorful coral like this one. Is this like a shore dive or do i need a boat to get there? Thanks

Any feedback or comments on the Seafrog housing yet?

The sea frogs housing had one major issue I noticed. At depth the video record button had a very hard time engaging the button on the camera, I think I may need to adjust the rubber tip on the end of the button rod. I brought it to 105' depth and no leaks, so that is good! For photos it is phenomenal. For video it is questionable whether it is worth upgrading to from a gopro, I will make a comparison video soon. I had the gopro mounted on the seafrogs housing so I have some footage from both cameras for direct comparison.

At 1:32 you finish talking about how healthy the reef is, and then you proceed to swim right through the coral fans and kick them and whatnot. You know these reefs are sensitive, and coral can die from you touching it? How can someone with reef experience be so naive as to swim through the coral like that?

corals don't die from touch, they aren't that sensitive. Sure it's good to avoid contact with them, but it's easy to accidentally brush a few on a dive. And most of the time you'll end up hurting more than that coral will.
