Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing. Years ago we used to get a lot more snow here in NJ, now half the time mixes with rain or just not cold enough to snow. I help out my in-laws and my family so if I didn't have a good snow blower I would be shoveling for hours to.

When it broke what was it the belts? Usually snow blowers if they're maintained every year which is pretty easy to do they almost never break. Lubricating everything, treating the fuel, making sure the belts are not cracked.. This is something anybody can do in the summertime, spring, or fall this plenty of time to maintain it does not take a lot of time.. You usually never will have a problem.. of the Toro and Ariens snow blowers have lasted 50 years. You get at least 20 years out of them if you take care of everything meticulously.. Having a snowblower in the winter probably for most guys MAKES YOU WANT IT TO SNOW. There's something about a machine and a man connection that we just love.. I guess if you had ridiculously huge property it wouldn't be so fun. But for the average homeowner snow was not that much of a problem in the northeast states, does not tons of storms but it's fun and interesting when you have a good snowblower. ;)

Thanks I m glad you found it useful, I still have to put the drift cutters on. We usually do not get heavy snowfalls like this so typically they aren't need it but want to have them on just in case for sure.

Yes that storm was uncommon these days. Most of the time it mixes with rain at some point making the snow more difficult to clear.

What does the drift cutters do exactly ?

@@amck72 They knock the deep snow on the sides into the mouth (where the augers are) so that snow can be ejected. Also. they help make a nice square border along the area you are cleaning.

No issues yet, the snow blower has not gotten much use as this winter or the prior winter has been pretty light for snow fall. I did use it a few weeks ago and everything was working properly.

Dude tell me about it! It's a lot better now but we have renovating and the previous homeowner let a ton of stuff in the garage that I have been getting rid of.

They steering could be better. Each hand handle has a brake to stop the track on one side to help with the turning. In the snow the pavement is slicker so it is smoother but moving the snowblower around with out it running is not as easy as a model with wheels.

Sure! I ordered mine from Home Depot’s website. Most large retailers offered this machine but Home Depot had the fastest delivery time and the price was the same or better than other retailers.

I am not familiar with the mod, what is it exactly?

@@travismichael502 It's a popular and effective mod for adding thick rubber pieces to the three (or four) impellers to sweep the inside of the impeller housing which prevents clogging & snow/ice build-up. Added benefit of the snow being thrown significantly further as well.

@@travismichael502 I wouldn't do that these little motors work hard enough without having to sweep out the impeller housing on top of loads of snow.

This storm was over the course of two days, we don't see storms like that to often in NJ anymore.

@@travismichael502 that's crazy I've never ed seen that much snow in my life hopefully it's never covered your front door way when you go open it.

Yes you are correct, the engine is the 208 cc but it performed better then I expected to and it fit my needs well enough. Other areas that get more snow then me may want to consider the larger models like you mentioned

It was almost brand new when I made this video, I ll have to check the carb out.

I am not familiar with the Ariens, I ll check out some videos. I have heard lots of good things about them though. I remember there price point being higher. For my area the snow I usually get this is more the adequate.

@@travismichael502 In New Jersey i don't think snow is abondant like in Quebec province. If i check the Montreal area right now you have about 5 feet of accumulation. In the northern part of the province in the Saguenay area. You can't see the house from the road ! Arien 28 SHO it's the proper machine for here.

Forgot to mention! The MTD drift cutter kit should be in your future. You'll love it with deep snow.

Thanks! Yes it is the 208cc engine. When I bought it I was a little worried that the engine was undersized but like you said, it did good with 28 inches. I highly recommend this snow blower.

@@travismichael502 they are blades that bolt to the auger housing. They stick out in front of the machine and slice through deep snow so it falls in front of the bucket instead of on top of the machine. 😬

Sounds like a must have add on, I will getting a set for next year. Probably be a few years before we snow fall like that again though.

Yeah I know, many homes in my neighborhood do not even have one. Next home would definitely two minimum.

It has been dropping below freezing at night here for the past week. I have a feeling I'll be snow blowing again soon!

Thanks for the constructive criticism, my main goal for this video was to provide a prospective buyer of this snow blower a look at the performance in a heavy snowfall scenario. The value of this video was solely directed to that demographic and entertainment was not prioritized.
